North Scottsdale, AZ on March 10, 2006. After
143 days of no moisture we received an unusual
snowstorm as depicted below. This is very unusual
for the Scottsdale area but was welcomed as it
put a small dent in the drought. Heavy snow fell
in the mountains for the first time this winter.

Well, you live in a 'desert' like state, you got to expect a 'little' rain, now and then.

Wow! Now that's the first time I have ever seen a cactus with snow on it! You see, Jim, you can leave Cincy! But the snowstorms will follow you there!

Best wishes,

Cindy

Hi Jim,
My daughter and significant other vacationed in AZ last week. They were in torrential rain, barely survived driving through the snow, their rented convertible top was slashed ... but they had a good time. What a shock. Both from Massachusetts where it hit 65 degrees. I am back from Florida and Hilton Head SC. Will catch your column again.... Roz in Maine
