THE DEBATE: ROMNEY V. OBAMA

The Romney-Obama debate of 10-16 was a bit of a snoozer for me.

I disliked the Town Hall set up and Candy Crowley.  She wasn’t extremely partial but like most CNN people, she had a special place in her heart for Obama.  That is probably why she gave him an extra three minutes for the night.

First we get a liberal in Jim Lehrer for the first debate but at 78 he was no match for handling Romney and Obama so it went well.

This time we got Candy who, instead of asking the questions and getting the hell out of the way, felt she had to interject her own opinions into the fray.   Like, who cares what she thinks?

Candy, Barack, and Mitt. Who is squeezing
the hardest?
Both guys got in some decent licks.  For Romney it was pretty easy pickings as he only had to pick a few items from a large laundry list of Obama failings from his 2008 promises.

For Obama, he managed a dig at Romney’s Detroit comment about letting Detroit autos go bankrupt and got after him about outsourcing.

Obama also couldn’t resist getting in the obligatory 47% crack during his summation but Romney beat him to the punch as he mentioned it during his summation a couple minutes before when he said it was sad that 47% of Americans are on food stamps.  I thought that was a good move and a miss on Obama’s part.  Actually, Obama should have mentioned it in Denver but he didn’t mention much of anything else that night either.

One funny point that kind of diminished Obama:  On a couple of occasions, he followed Romney’s moves.  At one time, Romney got up from his chair and Obama followed.  Another time, they were standing next to each other when Romney took about four steps forward.  Like a good puppy, Obama followed again.

Both instances may be more subliminal than anything but it came across as kind of odd to me.

There was a lot of bantering but not much new since the Denver debacle.  If I had to give the debate a score, I would say it was about 50-50.  Romney was about as good as the first debate in Denver but Obama improved enough that at least he didn’t look half asleep this time around.

I doubt if the prez will gain any ground from this round.  Romney matched up good with him at a time when Obama needed a knockout.

Next comes the third and final debate; this time from Boca Raton, Florida.  It will be Bob Schieffer of CBS moderating and the format will be the same as Denver.  Foreign policy will be dominate so expect some fireworks since the mere mention of Libya got some blood flowing tonight.

No word yet on whether Hillary will be there since she has taken the fall for Libya hence being dispatched to Peru.  How would you like to be a mouse in Bill’s house and hear his reaction to that move?

I watched some of the debate (confession: I preferred watching The Mentalist on TNT), enough to glean that it was more spirited than the first one (when Obama was kind of asleep). I thought they both did a good job despite a few talking-over-each-other sections. I watched the whole VP debate, and I was utterly revolted by Biden's crass, vulgar approach to 'debating.' I though Ryan was classy and had a lot to say, and knew his factrs. Some of his responses put several of my qualms away. Ditto Mitt last night. I was totally on the fence before the debates (after all, I am a blue-state New England gal at heart), but I sent in my early ballot and voted for Romney (also voted for Sheriif Joe).

PS I have a new job for 3-4 months as a contractor back at you-know-where doing technical writing to create training material. So far so good!

I haven't watched the debate yet, but did watch a video this morning that the superrich, the top .01 percent of 8 percent of the wealth in the world and are creating a plutocracy resembling communism. I think they're digging their own graves, because there are people running this nation, more powerful than any President who will kill them just because they can. This is a war between the elite and we are all caught in the middle. Even China has the superrich now and they're COMMUNISTS! It's a sick, sick world and the rich all need to be spanked and sent to their rooms.

By virtue of his terrible first debate, Obama had to look good. His performance can only be described as most improved, not a winning one as Romney hammered him repeatedly pointing out the failures in his promises and his policies. Obama got in a few outright lies, but he had absolutely no defense for his failed policies except to remind people that things could be worse.

Given four more years, I am sure this idealistic, dream world, teleprompter reader, could indeed, make things far worse....

Something in the neighborhood of 61% of annual Federal spending is fixed by law. I. E. Soc. Sec. Medicare, Medicaid and interest on the Federal debt. I see little difference between Obama and Romney to address anything of significance regarding how annual deficits and the growing debt will be addressed, so find both to be a dissapoinint in that regard.

My vote like in 2008 will go to Obama for the same reason I voted for him back then. A major concern over the Republican candidate for VP. Sarah Palin was too extreme as is Ryan today. During his time in Congress Ryan has voted NO 58 times on legislation addressing work and health issues of importance to women. Additionally Romney said he'd end Federal support for Planned Parenthood.

Next month my vote on behalf of women goes to Obama.

I tend to agree with you on the balance of your assessment.....but I wonder how many agree with me that Obama appeared almost frenetic in his attempt at

"controlled aggression", and came across as almost desperate............but, he definitely appeared more angry than purposeful, almost from the first question. Mitt did not seem to be angry during his disagreements, but was insistant

Don Williams said...

Sory for the misspelling of the word disapointment in my earlier post. Probably as I'm so disgusted dating back over the past 11 years that neither party is truly addressing the deficit's and associated debt it leaves the country.

Grover Norquist is a major part of that failure.......

Watching the debate now on Youtube. Both Obama and Romney wants energy independence and the governor is right, and so is Obama.

If you look at a global map, you'll see a startling revelation that the countries that are collapsing all have oil and/or ports to ship that oil from. It is very possible that Russia, China and the U.S. are vying for that oil to divide up the world in preparation of global governance in 2025. That's why they need the pipeline from Canada to make the dirtiest oil in the world into gas, because there is a remote chance we could have a trade embargo put on the U.S. sometime in the future.

Now I talked to some folks this morning and it was a hoot and I can't tell you who it was, but I can say that Romney is very right in some respects regarding energy independence and national security. In 2025, the United States must be in a position to assume control of leadership on the world stage. Either that, or learn to speak Chinese.

Rick Kepple said...

Mitt Romney says that his tax changes will continue the top 5 percent of the richest people paying 60 percent of the taxes, while giving a tax cut to the middle class to create more jobs. His math doesn't add up.

If you create more jobs, more people will be paying more taxes. Add up all those taxes paid in by 12.5 jobs that he's proposing and the 5 percent of the richest of Americans would pay less of the entire taxes collected and it should return to Reagan's percentages when those people only paid in 45 percent of the taxes. Not 60 percent.

Hey, I did it for years... being in the commercial construction industry I probably had five or six jobs in any given year, a two to six month project was considered long term..

I ended up in 1994 broke, out of work and having to rehab for over a year after having kidney surgery.

But I as you do believed in myself and frankly once I made an earlier decision not to allow either others or bad fortune to take my happiness I have never had a really miserable experience even tho I wasn't doing what I thought I was capable of I still had my faith in myself to fall back on..

..maybe with your experiences you should be doing motivational work for others facing what you have already conquered- inspiration is a growing, necessary and lucrative industry,
you are obviously smart enough to make intelligent decisions.

Sometimes we need to think outside the box to succeed, but that makes it all the more sweet when success follows.

Nothing I have ever found gives a parent more satisfaction as to see their own kids approach problems not as children looking for someone to help, but able to go out and do things with confidence, despite the odds the world presents.

In that regard I consider my life a success, sure it could have been better but after all it was me calling the shots, making mistakes and continuing on..

But even in the darkest days I never considered myself as anything but unbelievably fortunate to have an opportunity to make something of my life- after all, I have seen abject poverty including people digging through trash dumps looking for something to eat for dinner.

Yes, Middy: you can't change other people's actions - you can only control your reaction to and behavior regarding said actions. I grew up in public housing with a single mom and pretty much no real money. She was determined I wouldn't have such a hard life and propelled me into higher education. I started working 36 years ago and ever since PAYCHECK ONE I have been saving and living within my means. That gave me the foundation to be able to weather my layoff and move forward. If I've learned one thing from that upending of my life three years ago it's that you can only roll with the tide, do your best, and don't count on anyone except yourself. whn I lost a position lasy year, I went ahead and created a side business called Wordsmithinh by Glo: I revised resumes and any other documents for people, and have a small but growing clientele. Not much money, but what I make I put away for my Big 6-0 birthday vacation trip for next September.

Life is good - you need to make the best of it and see it as a win when you wake up in the morning (in my case, with two crazy dogs slobbering all over Mom's face).

To paraphrase Jimmy Cagney in "Yankee Doodle Dandy":

"My mother thanks you, my father thanks you, my sister thanks you, Sheriff Joe thanks you, Mr. Romney thanks you, and I thank you."

I have always had the highest respect for you and you reinforced that with your votes.

As always, it looks like you landed on your feet again with your new job. Even if it ends after 3-4 months, it's another example of how you refuse to cry in your beer and are able to turn a lemon into lemonade.

It's that that never say die Yankee ingenuity.

Jim McAllister said...

Proud,

Absolutely. How could he not improve over the first debate? I think with that gigantic ego of his he didn't feel he had to prepare the first time. Big mistake!

So, now he comes out and does a decent job and the libs are convinced he crushed Romney (see Andrew Sullivan).

The observers that count look at it as a virtual tie and I agree. They are making too big a deal over the "terror" remark and the review of the transcript by Crowley. Sure, she leaned toward O, that's what people at CNN, MSNBC, and most of the others love to do.

As Desi would say: "Obama has a lot of splainin' to do" on Monday when they get into foreign policy, especially Libya. I want to hear him explain why his UN ambassador Rice was saying for a week that the YouTube was the reasoning for Libya. He escaped on that last night thanks to Crowley.

I read where Michelle was clapping throughout the debate even though quiet was asked of the audience. Come on, now! Michelle was rude? She is so classy; who would have thought? LOL

Jim McAllister said...

uremus,

I agree. Obama was on a mission to improve from the first debate. It was a must for him and he did seem angry and aggressive.

He is a tough guy to listen to in the sense that he stumbles over words, hesitates a lot, and would be in big trouble if he couldn't use his hands.

To me that is a sign of nervousness which he had plenty of reason to be. If he flopped last night, he would have been in real trouble.

When considering he has no record to run on, he hung in pretty good; at least as far as his followers were concerned.

How many times do you think he has had to put up with this type of arrested adolescence in his twenty five years of observing humanity?- Corporate boardrooms are filled with liars, cheats and scoundrels, remember?

It's a simple trick honest men use all the time, get someone caught in a state of cognitive dissonance in public allowing them to testify against and thereby condemning themselves.. he knows what he is doing..
..relax..

Shooting fish in a barrel is more sporting than making that lifelong amateur come back and explain the inexplicable thinking behind arresting an innocent, lying to the public, suspending a scapegoats first amendment rights and using him as an international bargaining token in support of Sharia Law.

..that was a one hundred percent re election campaign decision- and a very stupid, ill advised one... it's typical of the panic that sets in when you have tried and failed to fake a kidnapping just to set up another Bin Laden moment, intending to fake a rescue but having it go terribly wrong .

.. yeah this is a real fish the President has on a line- and he will set that hook next debate so deep a couple of teeth will have to be removed.

They will need the jaws of life to pull Zero's head out of where President Romney places it next Monday night.

I watched the debate and Obama, although improved from his coma in the first debate, was just as pathetic in this debate as he has been as president.

He has absolutely NO RECORD to run on. He tried and failed to paint Romney as the boogeyman to women.

Candy Crowley should have been standing on the stage with Obama since this debate was two-on-one.

And Candy Crowley not only allowed Obama's flagrant lie about his remarks on Libya, she actually participated in the lie. And today, she's on spin control trying to put out the fires she started with her biased approach to "moderator."

And please, Don Williams, vote on behalf of yourself (your vote for VP, that is). You don't vote on behalf of me or any of the intelligent and conservative women I know who understand that the issues this election are the economy and foreign affairs (yes, the muslim extremists still hate us and are trying to kill us). Proud, I voted for Obama in 2008 because McCain made such a stunningly massive faux pas in getting Palin on the ticket. I truly believe he did it simply to get a woman on the ticket, and that is so wrong and says something about him (Palin says it all about herself just by opening her mouth). Glo...I voted for McCain and I hated myself for doing so, he's a typical Washington insider who pretended to be some kind of "Maverick" by hosing his own people, usually at the last minute, mostly for nothing more than showmanship.....To me he's a fat, old white-guy (lump-jawed) who represents the stereo-typical politician... Picking a VP to pander to some certain group is nothing new, in fact, it's business as usual. Kennedy hated Johnson but he needed him to bring the "good-ol boy,South" to a spoiled, Mass lib, daddy promised me or Joe we could be Prez, blue-blood, aristocratic, rich kid....
I actually voted (holding my nose the entire time for McCain because of Palin. To me she was the incarnation of everything McCain was not. She was small town, hard working, average American valued newbie (and wasn't Ol Abe, just that?). In an era where an Obama government is spending trillions they don't have....breaking almost every promise they campaigned on, suing about half the country simply for asking voters to prove they are who they claim to be...I see Palin as far more main stream than the teleprompter in chief that's f/n up the country. Seems to me you allowed yourself to swallow a bit too much of the anti Palin kool-aid they so freely spewed (and continue to spew) She, (and that ridiculous excuse of a lard ass running mate McCain) allowed herself to be completely defined by the liberal mainstream media as extreme...all the while they somehow convinced mid_America that a cocaine smoking, binge drinking, lazy,(his own words) student (who refuses to this day to release his college records)with but two years national Senate service,(all but a couple months of which were spent campaigning for Pres) which included a record number of "present" votes, who surrounded himself with under-qualified, ideologues who are fast-tracking this nation into socialistic bankruptcy...as main-stream / moderate....

I honestly believe we don't need Rhodes scholars, or Harvard lawyers in the White House, I'll take an old fashioned, American gal from Alaska over the crap we have now! And if being the one and only guy in congress with the balls to stand up and purpose a written idea on how to head off the fiscal cliff, the bankruptcy of medicare/caid and social security makes Ryan too extreme for you....You better reexamine what's really important to the survival of this nation.....(*hint*....it sure as hell ain't women's ability to get free contraceptives, or some illegal's need for driver licenses, food stamps, or freedom for being asked to prove they aren't BREAKING THE LAW!

Glo....the positions of President and Vice President are both administrative positions, requiring some level of leadership and supervisory ability, with a background of proven effective leadership and organization.
McCain's record in the Navy dispelled his often repeated "experience and leadership" claims, and while his experience as a POW deserves acclaim, it does little to qualify him to head a major nation.
You were not alone in questioning the selection of Palin...but, here again, she had a several year record of heading the management of a State, which record provided ample documented proof of her effectiveness in leadership, planning, and decision making, while proving her educated and purposeful decisions in making appointments and in negotiations with various enterprises which positively advanced the enterprise, the State, and the public interests in Alaska and the US.
I also had serious problems with McCain, but, with all his faults (as I saw them) he still stood head and shoulders above Obama as to qualifications and experience.
Can you say the same for either Obama or Biden?

Right and wrong. It doesn't exist in politics.

The strategy of using Obama has worked to win some Muslims to the American way of thinking and many of al Qaeda's leadership is dead, but radical Islam is toying with chemical weapons.

Why do you think al Qaeda is trying to help overthrow Syria? Out of the goodness of their hearts? They have the largest stockpile of chemical weapons in the world! Al Qaeda is also seeking to make ricin and the Pentagon is taking this very seriously.

Romney wants to ease immigration laws to increase profitability of American companies by hiring immigrants instead of Americans. Or bring foreign students to American universities to teach or learn. Hire immigrants as VA staff to help American military veterans.

I'm told that the Columbia VA hospital has an Iranian shrink talking to veterans and some of them worked in highly classified jobs and the government can't figure out how our enemies are stealing our secrets. Duh.

Right and wrong? I don't believe Washington D.C. knows what that is. Maybe when Romney gets elected, the Mormon Church can explain it to them.

When you're disabled like me, talking to a rock star is like the most exciting thing on the planet! Voting becomes an excursion. Conversations with friends from way back when is a reminder that we need a good ol' boy in government.

Jim McAllister said...

Steve,

Does it ever end with these liars? Obama speaks more slowly? Give me a break!

CNN and the other libs should be able to do better than that since they are so used to lying.

Speaking of lying, Charlie Krauthammer got off a good one on Obama today about his comments on Libya. He said Obama "should tell the truth. It's easier to memorize."

Funny about Mitchell mentioning the lower pay for women at MSNBC. Come on, a good left wing network like that demeaning women? LOL

Rick Kepple said...

I saw a family beside Old Route 66 yesterday. They had an old Chevy Suburban, sitting in lawn chairs, a sign that said, "Help, we're out of gas and out of food!"

Churches help families. It's a religious business thing. The modern religions don't want single men or single women. As one pastor said, it's marketing! Get the kids, get the parents, start bringing in more money and their interest is not in singles. That's the Bible Belt!

Obama has the government giving handouts to everyone and that's fine to keep people breathing until jobs are created. I hear the rhetoric from politicians and see the reality - two different things.

Romney is promising 12.5 million jobs. Do you know WHY he chose that number? Hmmmm?

It just happens to be the same number of jobs that the Republican Party has made in the last 40 years. The Democrats claim to have made four times that many jobs.

However, IMO, I would rather have freedom than be forced to be Muslim or have everything taken from me, because infidels aren't allowed to own property.

If Romney doesn't win, it's very likely that in another 20 years, that's the reality of America. Nothing but poverty, a few rich people and everyone faces Mecca to pray.

I used to live a small town where the powers that be will pigeonhole people like that. Where you ARE what society says you ARE and it's still that way. I'll not be pigeonholed by religions either. Thankfully in 20 years from now, I'm hoping to be dead.

Rick Kepple said...

War is definitely coming, but if Mitt Romney is not elected, that war could be in the United States of America! Yes, Romney will outsource more jobs, unemploy 12.5 more hard working Americans and ease the transition of foreigners to immigrate to the United States, but the United States of America must be preserved.

I was going to post a video of war with heavy metal music, President Obama speaking over the top of it with speeches of peace and prosperity, but most of you folks don't actually live in the true reality of the world. You live in Happydale.

You'd say that the video was distasteful, disgusting, I'm a monster for posting it and more.

But if Mitt Romney is not elected, Islam will take over America, we will all lose our homes, because international law will change and infidels can't own homes, property, businesses or anything.

midnightsstaff said...

.."Thankfully in 20 years from now, I'm hoping to be dead"

..don't be guilty of setting your goals too high there Rick..

I still don't know how the government can "create" jobs, as far as I know they can only discourage a healthy jobs environment...

Anyone thinking that any president will be able to quickly turn back the hands of time and restore what once was is smokin' some pretty good stuff..

..in the end there is little more any president can do other than reduce the size of goverment and cut back the mountain of punitive environmental excess the regulators have built blocking progress.

Before the robotic revolution and the computerization of society it would be easier, but today?- show me.
.. we now need very few people to program and keep robots functioning efficiently- we are never going to return to a classical industrial production based society.

..frankly it's my opinion we have too many useless eaters in society now- anyone that thinks a multi-generational army of gangbangers and welfare trash is somehow going to become a productive, functioning member of society is out of their minds.

As I said, I don't worry about the election and haven't for a long time but I do worry about what happens after the election.

Rick Kepple said...

"Anyone thinking that any president will be able to quickly turn back the hands of time and restore what once was is smokin' some pretty good stuff.."

Yes they are smoking some pretty good stuff and in some states, you can be arrested if you don't have enough for everyone.

Having the conversation with the guy at Dell Mack's about my dusty old past, reminded me of the organized crime that's rampant in Illinois and the machine that got Obama in office.

Things are bad for the Republican Party to choose an outsourcing guy like Romney, but sometimes it takes one evil to destroy another evil and maybe some resemblence of good can come of it.

BTW, Dell, myself and others do not like the guy who brags upon the past that so many of us left behind, when we changed. And the rock star changed. So have I. Maybe Romney has too. We shall see.

..."One of the games played by Democrats under this law is the passage of stimulus bills. When a stimulus is passed, it adds immediately to the budget baseline for that year and then for every succeeding year. So the Obama-Pelosi-Reid stimulus passed in 2009 added $787 billion of new spending to the federal budget in 2009. It then went on to add $834 billion of new spending in 2010 ($787 billion times 1.06 for the 6% yearly increase); $884 billion in 2011; and finally $937 billion in 2012. Over the last four years, this totals $3,442 billion more than would have been budgeted through the normal process -- which is precisely why the Democrats wanted it passed as a stimulus"... taken from this article link:

Yet we continue to vote for those of obvious questionable morality who will game the system right until they are made to stop.

November 6 will just be the landing at Normandy... there is a long way yet to go all the way to Berlin, that is if we survive the landing.

Just thank God right now none of us have to load into actual Higgin's boats eh?- just take the time to vote.

Rick Kepple said...

"there is a long way yet to go all the way to Berlin, that is if we survive the landing."

Middy, most people here know what you're talking about, but sadly a lot of kids don't know what a Normandy is, unless it's on a video game.

Maybe that's how Romney can win. It's an interesting thought to make a campaign gimmick; a Mitt Romney video game to increase exposure.

Take a lesson from religion, GOP. Get the kids involved and get the parents involved. I should be getting paid for these novel ideas.

Rick Kepple said...

Just imagine. A PS3 game of the CIA rushing into the Oval Office and the kids get to learn what it's like to be President Romney! They have multiple choices like in any game, where each decision leads to different outcomes.

People could find out how difficult it is to be Romney. (Dog cage for roof of car not included. Not actual affiliation with Mitt Romney, Mormons or anyone else. No credit check required. No politicians were injured in the making of this comment).

I just can't figure him.

midnightsstaff said...

The greater question is "why bother?"..

As I told you Jim, the biggest wake up call I ever got was finally admitting the projecting of one's own values onto some other person is a sure fire way to get burned...

Take people for what they are and not what they claim, anyone can mouth the words, but you can tell pretty soon where they are coming from by their thinking and methodology- just asking them to expand on the topic and explain the reasoning pretty much tells you all you need to know.

I made a bad mistake on my initial view of President Romney, I have no real excuse but maybe a weak explanation could be I just distrust northeastern politicians out of hand - nevertheless, I got blindsided- I am starting to reaaaally dislike these RonPaulobots, I agree with some of his thinking, but we don't need another Ross Perot moment do we?

Rick Kepple said...

"On Aug. 6th 1945 people in northern Japan had no idea the issues they faced."

Actually, America and Japan knowing the war would drag on until the last living person stood and that was the Japanese resolve to win. It's the entire reason the War Department decided to change strategy from wasting hundreds of thousands of Americans in an invasion against Japan. The strategic planners knew it would ultimately destroy both countries and Russia would win in the end.

So nuking Japan was actually saving lives on both sides. historychannel.com

I still believe Bush, Obama and Romney are military strategy as is offshoring jobs. I read all those reports and if you put them all together, they fit. The Chinese used to say that they could beat America without firing a shot, but Romney says that we need to outsource more jobs and businesses to them and teach them the American way of living.

So I think the United States learned to strategize and Vietnam was just one big laboratory experiment in weapons development. Romney and Ryan could easily dominate the world. Smile real pretty and fire that nuke.

Dell Mack knows Jimmy Page, Joe Walsh and has met Eric Clapton, the three greatest guitarists in the world. The Edge is only good for his techno wizardry. Great guitarists aren't great for playing cover songs. They're great for creating their own stuff.

President Obama's father was born in another country as was Governor Romney's father. There are other similarities, making me wonder what the two parties are up to. And I watch the movie, "Red Nightmare," it looks like the Patriot Act, the disarmament of military veterans and Fast and Furious by two different political parties!

But I gave an oath to uphold the laws of the United States government about 30 years ago. As the member of a team, I have to believe that those people are doing the right thing and I just don't know the bigger picture like they do.

"Rick, Are you going to throw a pity party before you go?"

No, because I don't trust you. And some of you people admitted in writing that you've pushed people to suicide for the fun of it. A shrink even concurred that the rich do this for the fun of it. I still find it difficult to believe that anyone could be that mean, but I've seen how little regard you people have for human life.

Except when Barbara Nicks died. Then all of you disappeared. Especially Jimmy and Middy. Why would you people who hate the Nicks' family like you say you do, stop blogging out of respect?

There's no law that says a cop has to protect you either. Turn me in boys and girls, but the cops take their orders from me. I'll tell them I suspect you people and show them the evidence. Hang yourselves. Do me a favor, please.

I know you people are dirty. And the government knew Bodo was coming to visit me when he did. I don't like any of you people. If you lie to me about the little things, you lie to me about the big things. Plain and simple.

So insult away. One of these days, one of your cohorts will give a deathbed confession and implicate one or all of you in the crimes that you've done.

it's funny how no one is questioning what "Ambassador" Stevens (CIA) was doing in Benzgali in the first place.

I have a theory that the real reason there was no security was his operations had to be carried out in secrecy, and you just can't do that with a Marine Corps contingency marshaled nearby.

Those SAM 7 missiles of Kadafi were headed somewhere, they don't just get scrapped when the local politics are settled.

Was he actually the coordinator behind moving those jihadist troops and heavy weapons through Turkey into the killing fields of Syria on behalf of al Queda?

The tip off to any rational person is why the US govt. felt it unnecessary to provide minimum security in a hell hole like Libya in the first place.

The only explanation in my mind is they thought there was no real need because our interests were in concert with al Queda so no threat would be realized..

The fact that a gunship sat by a mere distance from the over run position while a drone took pictures and did nothing can be chalked up to either incompetence or reluctance by the President who thought this was merely a hostage taking event- and didn't want to over react pissing them off.

..something obviously went wrong, if Stevens was intended to be merely captured and held hostage for our fearless leader to rescue right before the election then that would explain a lot in explaining how our FUBAR in Chief seemed so entirely lost.

.. after all the scenario was not anything like what Vallerie the Iranian born Muslim Brotherhood mole had promised and he was forced to "think" on his feet- an impossibility.

I am forced to believe that Stevens proved to be too much a liability to allowed to live and possibly be debriefed by the new administration, eventually revealing the truth...

Keep in mind two people can share secrets, but only if one of them are dead ...someone please prove me wrong.

Maybe the fool should just resign on stage tonight and save us the riots.

You mark my words, if Romney gets in, he's gonna wipe Islam off the face of the earth. The Republicans are good at taking out the trash.

And the enemies of the American people in this country will be likewise allowed to prove they must also be eliminated or controlled.

Control: it's the entire reason that rock stars are sold drugs by management. It's a little something that musicians in the Indie world have told me and why they hate mainstream.

Oh yeah. I get it now.

I was at the studio helping to develop a new product and the kid is really very good! He's got a nifty sound and lyrics with talent rivalling Elvis and Bob Dylan.

But the guys at the studio were saying that you guys are probably kidding around with me. I know we can make a marketable product, but I don't understand humor too well. I don't remember well either, but they say that I'm really smart.
