NO BARRY, THE SKY ISN"T FALLING

I had to post this Benson cartoon from March 3rd since it isn’t often he draws anything that would be the least bit injurious to his liberal following.

This cartoon shows Obama’s lack of understanding the American public.  It’s a takeoff on the children’s Story Teller’s Book written in 1912 by Alice O’Grady.

It’s called “Chicken Licken” and I’m sure most of you have heard the story, especially in your youth.

Chicken Licken has a pea fall from a vine hitting her on the tail and immediately thinks that the sky is falling and that she must immediately go tell the king.

As she runs off she encounters her friends Henny Penny, Ducky Lucky, Cocky Locky, and Turkey Lurkey who join in the mad scramble to tell the king that the sky is falling.

When they reach the woods, they meet Foxy Loxy and tell him they need directions to the king.  He says he knows the way as he smiles and lures them into his cavern.  He later emerges from the cavern but those foolish birds were never heard from again.

Fortunately for the guy in Benson’s cartoon who represents the enlightened public, he is ignoring the ever present warnings from Chicken Licken Obama about the sky falling.  After all, how many times must we hear his broken record pronouncements of another crisis if we don’t follow his rules? Now we shrug and yawn and go back to sleep in the comfort of our hammocks.

The latest Gallup Poll shows Obama’s approval rating at 47%; pretty poor considering his recent election.  Real Clear Politics shows his approval rating down to 5.9% after recently being almost 9.  The stock market doesn’t seem too frightened either.

First, it was the “fiscal cliff” early this year when the Republicans unfortunately caved and gave Obama his tax increase on the wealthy; an increase that wasn’t a heavy revenue producer but allowed him to feed his ego by claiming a win over a group he detests.

Then came the 2% increase to paychecks; an increase that many weren’t prepared for or happy about.  With the sequester, he wanted ANOTHER tax increase on those dreaded rich people.  The Republicans said “No!” so now the threats begin with the release of illegal immigrants for starters and who knows what other imagined catastrophe he will dream up next to try and fool the public.

Some may think that now that the sequester is in effect, that is the end of it.  Not so mes amis!  On March 27, the current continuing resolution that funds the government’s operations ends. Either a new resolution must be approved by the House and Senate, or a broader budget must be approved.  If Congress can’t reach a budget deal by March 27, all nonessential federal government operations stop.
So when does this stop?  I’ve been breathing since a year after FDR won his fourth term in 1940 and I have never seen such a maelstrom of nonsense in the federal government.   Are we actually paying this guy money to screw up this country?

(Here is a good takeoff on the sequester from SNL, (4:25) courtesy of Middy)

Jim, to see where this country is headed under Obama one need only look at the city of Detroit. Massive debt and now the Governor of Michigan, a Republican, has to appoint a manager to try and clean up the mess. Of course the city is run by Democrats.

80% of the residents of the city are black so I suspect most of them are on the government dole. The city is spending much more money than they take in from tax revenues. Sounds like of federal government.

Won't be long until we become another Greece with rioting in the streets by the people that were on the government dole when the checks stop coming.

Time to lock and load.

I agree with Mike; time to lock and load.

When in doubt, lock and load.

When a person can't be trusted, lock and load.

If it's too quiet, lock and load.

If some Nigerian sends you new laptop computers and it comes from an Indiana address and the sender's name can't be researched, and the Nigerian wants you to act as a shipper, it's time to lock and load. And keep the computers, cause it's good bait for terrorists.

I don't mind if you guys don't mind. Sooner or later, someone's gonna come looking for their laptops. You know those Nigerians.

I live in Casablanca, Jimmy. Only we are in possession of laptops at Rick's Place.

Y'all are sequesters. None of you can leave this blog!

So I went to Bass Pro today to see the little bullet wullets. There weren't many of them. There were just empty shelvey welveies.

One day, President Obama might say that we gotta give up our gunny wunnies.

I thought it was "Chicken Little". My wife thought Benson was serious - that he believes the sky's really falling!

Jim McAllister said...

Larry,

The original book from 1912 has it as Chicken Licken but somewhere along the line Chicken Little was subbed by some people.

The writer's idea in 1912 behind Chicken Licken was a to have it rhyme with the other characters like Henny Penny, Turkey Lurkey, Cocky Locky and Foxy Loxy.

this is an article that everyone in our age group ought to read, and then read some of the comments.
I have known for quite some time that the generation just now getting in the work age is not going to peacefully give up their money to fund our retirement.

But if you notice a lot of the comment's are downright hostile already, too many people like Cj realize that we were born in a Cinderella era Jimmy, it wasn't our fault but you have to admit this generation we were blessed to live in has had the best ride of any in history and any ever in the future..

They have a right to be sore about funding our retirement and we have a right to be sore about not being able to be left alone in our old age.

..life is a bitch and then you die.

From that article I mentioned..

.."Retirees and near-retirees especially should be living off the income from a life of savings, not playing chicken to survive. Unfortunately, the government policy of financial repression (low interest rates) forces them into such a situation. The further policy of counterfeiting money makes the situation even more difficult."

Like I have told you Jim, if the American people ever get an idea of the swindle these bastards have committed they will burn Washington to the ground.

Middy, the Marines don't say that, so learn the real mantras and stay in character. Civilians say that, not Marines.

The Army taught me to improvise, adapt and overcome any obstacle by creative thinking. See, there is the Army Way and the Right Way and I chose the latter, but claimed the former worked just fine.

It's President Obama's second term and maybe he's trying to do things right instead of the Washington way.

I mean seriously dudes; if I give Jimmy ten bucks, it's supposed to rain down money from heaven? How? Some dude in Indonesia spends his paycheck and how's that supposed to help me? The prices remained the same after all Americans lost their jobs and employment was outsourced and I feel for those folks, but I'm too old to learn how to drive an ox cart.

That's the way Trickle Down theory works, guys. You take pennies from the poor and you make dollars. It's impossible. It's modern day sorcery playing upon the minds of the weak.

Bush had eight years and he destroyed the country. Drug addicts do the same thing and Obama is like Betty Ford.

And as for you guys; get a real job.

Poor Fleetwood Mac is probably wishing for a plane crash as they are now embarking once again to sing the same ... old ... boring ... songs ... yet ... again. I feel sorry for them that they are that addicted to wealth that they have to make such fools of themselves and worse, people seem to accept it as reality.

Our species is doomed to repeat the same historical mistakes over and over and over again.

People are expecting Hitler. We couldn't get that lucky. I'm expecting Pol Pot.

He couldn't do this without the Republipukes enabling his every step.

Jan Brewer is pretty much worthless as a governor it seems, she has an wooden leg and that's about it, I have a problem defending mindless elected, drunken Republicritters that behave no different than the Socialists.

Have you ever spent a minute in the Marine Corps Rick?

China is not cooperating, their economy is over much like ours is, building all those ghost cities over there was a gamble that couldn't possibly work, our market opening today will reflect it.

Middy, I tried to join the Marines. After the recruiter got off the phone, we talked for a long time and he told me that I was all set up to join the Army.

Unknown said...

I deleted the comments, not Jimmy.

Unknown said...

Middy, I really must clarify.

It was two Marine recruiters who helped me after my parents died and about the time that SN was being mean to me. It was the federal government who was very appreciative and it's the government who I owe my allegiance to for that kindness.

Back then, I was very confused, starving and the Marines were nice to me. They helped me to get into the Army, saying that I could go to college and nobody cares about a spoiled rock star.

Even to this day, the government does not like her and I'm partly the reason why. If she were nice to me, they might give her a medal for what she's done for the USO, but Congress has said she's nothing special.

I've got medals. I get taken care of real well by a very appreciative government.

I just don't see poor folks in Maricopa County going to shake your hands for taking the food from their families. I do see them rioting.

It ain't the fault of the rich, but even I get told that I'm "rich." I'll be a target too.

I'm gonna get my daughter out of Illinois before all this collapses and it's not safe.

Just like always, the Republicans can't seem to fight the mighty Obama. Gosh that guy just seems incredibly powerful, doesn't he? Golly gee.

Those poor Republicans just don't seem to have any power at all. Poor, poor rich folks.

I have tried to help SN and other rich folks, but pride, you know? They like the changes in our government. Republicans must be making money, cause they complain, but don't really seem to do much despite all their perceived power. So apparently, they ain't actually NOTHING but rich dudes in pretty clothes. "Today's announcement that the president wants Gina McCarthy to serve as the next EPA administrator is a clear indication that the administration will continue a war on affordable energy," Thomas Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research, said in a statement.
"Throughout her career McCarthy has implemented policies that attempt to constrain the use of reliable energy sources. ... It appears the president is rewarding these efforts by increasing her ability to implement an ideological and political agenda. If confirmed as EPA administrator, McCarthy will continue the regulatory attack on oil, coal and natural gas with the result that Americans will experience increasing energy costs and high unemployment rates."

My friends and three shrinks all say that the SN thing is stress related. As you recall, it started about July 2008, when I found that G20 story about candidate Obama being the person to lead the world into a new era in peace. Every now and then, when something like this sequester happens, I go all SN again.

Yep, I would never say the things to her face that I write. It's the instinct thing going off and it's constantly buzzing in a panic, cause it's NOT what the government will do, but what people will do in a blind reaction.

You should see the line of people buying guns. One fella said that Bass Pro is sold out of guns now.

Dude, I was just at Bass Pro yesterday and they had lots of guns! My roommate is going there today and he'll report back to me and we'll just see if they're out of guns. That's a LOT of guns, dudes. A lot. Hundreds.

People are panicking. Definitely.

I have a theory that this is precisely what the government needs to happen, in order to pass even more restrictions and UNDERSTAND THIS; it will appear to be absolutely necessary.

I hope I'm wrong. I often am. Sometimes I just worry way too much and that's when I practice the guitar and listen to a lot of SN music.

I'm thinking of starting to do funny survival videos.

Sounds like Mike, Proud, Bodo or Billy boy. First, there's not enough shrinks, then there's too many. Psychos!

Jimmy, I read about Obama and the stories are as if Mike, Proud or some other neophyte wrote them. Only people like them are worried about the government taking their guns. Not gonna happen. They'd have to bring in foreign troops to do that and it's never gonna happen.

I already blogged years ago that the government would allow horrendous death to shock Americans into turning in their own guns. Instead, gun sales are through the roof!

The fact that Mike Slater, with a son that's a cop, attacks me suggests that they work for the government and since the morphine didn't kill me, people like Proud, Bill Gamelson, Bodo and Middy are trying to shut me up to protect the richest people in the world and their conspiracy to overthrow the United States and the government with the cooperation of both political parties.

It's the only logical answer, because true conservatives believe everything that I believe. I'll bet none of the above actually have any guns, except what was issued to them.

Middy was a prison guard. He'll do what he's told by the government. He's got too much to lose.

Jimmy, I'm sorry dude, but the rich folks have you fooled. They are on no one's side, but their own.

Now, as to what to expect from President Obama, there is a little history from circa 1912, that will help.

"Under Islam, Christians had few rights, paid exorbitantly high taxes - the jizya - and enjoyed limited political representation and access to government services. Their testimony was inadmissible, no provision existed for their legal protection, they were prohibited from owning firearms, and their property, wives and children were vulnerable to spontaneous attacks."

Proof that the "Republic" DOES get some decent and sensible letters to the editor.

“Fair” is the new brand. Who should buy it? No one.

The president says the rich should pay their fair share, undocumented immigrants should get a fair shot, it’s only fair that everyone gets medical care. The top 10 percent already pays 68 percent of all income tax, while nearly 50 percent pay none.

Talented people across the globe wait in line for their turn to become Americans, while we are asked to embrace illegals. Health-care costs are bankrupting the country, while the president ignores exploding costs and sells us insurance.

The president wants wealth distributed fairly. What is fair about working hard and getting the same pay as the goof-off?

What is fair about taxing the saver/investor more than the spender?

What is fair about protecting jobs at failing schools that don’t prepare youths for jobs?

Fair appeals to our emotions. Real fairness is not even-handed. We don’t punish all our children when one misbehaves. That sends the wrong message.

President Barack Obama is selling a brand that replaces equal opportunity with equal benefits.

Poor Americans work to be middle class; the middle works to be upper; the upper works to be rich. It’s real fairness. It’s the American way.

Jim, I read that letter to the editor and it was on the Azcentral blog page. Of course all the liberals that commented had a fit.

If you have anymore than they do then its not fair.Kinda like when I retired at 50 CJ told me I was just lucky. I guess hard work and saving money has nothing to do with it.

To all the people that don't think life is fair because someone has more than they do I suggest they move to Cuba. That way they could all be miserable together.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

Liberals always have the poor mouth working 24/7 when they hear someone has made good money and retired young: "Oh, woe is me; those darn rich people have everything. They sure are lucky; it just isn't right!"

It's a perfect example of how whiny and dumb they are. Luck has nothing to do with it; hard work, desire, and common sense have EVERYTHING to do with it.

Most of them didn't want to help themselves by taking time to go to college in order to move up in line so they wind up at some hum-drum job that pays little. Meanwhile, the grads are going to the front of the line.

Nothing is handed to us; a person has to go get it and in many cases, education is the ticket to success.

The Obama formula is bull. That give "their fair share" garbage is strictly bulls--t.

There is nothing wrong with programs to help people who are really down and out but this guy has made a sham of the whole system with his doctrine of punishing the makers.

It's ridiculous when a woman in Baltimore is walking around with 6 iPhones and the government is paying for all of them. In the meantime. 47% of the country pays nothing into the tax system.

midnightsstaff said...

Nobody is listening Jim, the only thing that will get their attention is a real ass whipping, until that happens liars will continue to line up behind him no matter what he says or does.

The train wreck coming is completely out of our hands, there is nothing to do any more but but prepare for the worst.

Bodo presented an interesting argument this morning in saying that Adolf Hitler did NOT confiscate firearms. I found evidence to the contrary, but surprisingly, not much of it.

Bodo said that it was Americans after the war that STOLE guns from the German citizens and Hitler never confiscated them! I had to search pretty hard to find the law that Hitler passed against handguns and Bodo is right to an extent, but Hitler just added to the anti-gun legislation in Germany.

Ironically, those gun laws were passed because of the Nazi demonstrations and when Hitler took power, it was a relatively simple thing to just add to them.

Truth is, the Nazi sympathizers kept their guns. Anyone else lost them.

Bodo keeps trying to discredit me and he can't. He also claims that prior to my arrival on azcentral that he never once heard of SN and I find that difficult to believe.

The fascinating thing is that the media is even downplaying Adolf Hitler and painting him to be a nice guy. That he passed gun laws to protect the German people. That he NEVER passed anti-gun legislation.

Then Bodo says that it was the Americans who confiscated the guns and not Hitler.

They're doing this because people are comparing Obama to Hitler, so they're painting Adolf as just misunderstood and history is wrong.

Next, they'll say that holocaust didn't happen. They'll make FEMA camps look like they are modeled after the Jewish camps that were simply underfunded and I'm sure they'll say that it was simply tragic and Adolf did his best, but those silly Jews just gassed themselves.

History is being rewritten and I don't know about y'all, but it's scaring the crap out of me!

Lana's not doing well, Jimmy. She's not been watching the news, so she knows nothing. They may have to do more surgery. It was supposed to be outpatient work. You won't like this, but it looks like malpractice and she could win millions. I know how y'all hate that, but you don't live in Missouri. The health care here is a joke.

You combine the coincidence that veterans are being given dangerous medications with the government saying that "Christian military veterans" might be terrorists and there's your motive for eradicating us. What if Islam is preferred?

If Americans are indeed being made into the enemy in our own country, the rich won't fight their own battles. They never have before, so what's changed?

So who is Washington going to use? Did you know that the richest guy in the world lives in Mexico? Curious, isn't it?

Manuscript 1997, "The Coming of the Horseman," by Rick Kepple. Chapter Six. "However in 2025, the president unexpectedly seized control of the government and his agenda totally changed. Seirizzin could care less about the economy now. His main concern was maintaining stern control of the world’s population through the use of technology that the civilized society had previously rejected.
A supercomputer with the ability of thought and reasoning was developed with the use of human brain ingrams as well as a coinciding computer chip designed to be implanted within the human body. Seirizzin had mandated the implantation system that could track an individual person with a satellite system. Everything anyone did in their lives would be monitored from the groceries they bought to the books they read. The chip replaced all forms of finance and commerce from an ATM card to a library card. It was capable of holding vast amounts of memory and could store employment records so an application could be filed with a sweep of the hand. Medical personnel could scan the chip to instantly access patient’s records in the event of an accident. The chip promised to be the bane of privacy as well as the perfection of socinology, a science of technological advances for the advancement of civilization.
Socinology had such great potential, but under the rule of a tyrant, it was a potential weapons greater than any of the genetically enhanced diseases the terrorists released. Seirizzin ruled with the assistance of his son. Abuse is always magnified with the next generation."

Dora and I would often discuss what would need to happen to make the United States collapse and it would have to be all of our enemies forming a coalition against us. Where all of our factories would be denied to us, so that our supply chain is stalled. Iran has threatened to blockade and combine the Chinese and Russians and no freight from our own countries could get to us.

Washington D.C. would cave under such pressure, because rich men don't like squirrel meat.

You should have seen Bodo's face when he heard a gunshot that night he stayed at my home. Lately, I get the feeling that he and Billy boy are the same person, since they have so much in common and his writing style changed too.

It's too bad about him cowering in a bunker. I'll get it was really scary that those big, bad Americans went in there searching the bunkers and my dad was probably one of them!

Better do it quick, Alvin Lee who was younger than you died yesterday of complications recovering from minor surgery.. in socialist countries with state healthcare no surgery is minor and many die.

He was billed as the fastest guitarist ever.. that's a joke at best but pretty good guitarist, I didn't particularly care for his non creative style.

Trower is good, Doug Boyle who played "Liars dance" and "SS&Q" is better if you ask me as is Kevin MacMichael- both world class musicians.

Jim McAllister said...

The guys from the past who we enjoyed so much are dropping lately.

I saw that about Alvin Lee and one of the guys from the Dave Clark Five died recently along with a couple Motown stars.

Meanwhile, Keith Richards keeps getting electrocuted and falling off stages and drinking a quart of booze a day while itching to get to the next gig.

Maybe he was right when he said he would only retire "when the chicks quit diggin' me."

Unknown said...

I've got a video of Trower. He's fast, but I think Andy Powell of Wishbone Ash is or was better.

The phone company blocked a hijacked number trying to call me. Probably threats, but I've talked to you guys so long that very little bothers me anymore.

I bought a 58 caliber muzzleloading rifle today. Traditional. Used. Gotta make sure that it's safe, but in Missouri, I can hunt three seasons as opposed to one with just a centerfire rifle.

Bodo unfriended me. CJ and Middy were right about that guy; very manipulative. So his parents obviously saw what Hitler did and Bodo doesn't seem to mind and in fact, defends him. Sicko.

Another sad note from the company I used to work for until kicked to the curb after 19 years: five of my buddies were in the latest round of drop-kicks, and tomorrow is their last day. One after 29 years, and one after FORTY years. Can you say: let's all use Visa? I do! I don't leave home without it. :)

Jimmy, the hospital apparently assigned their best doctor to Lana to try to fix her, after another doctor messed up. They're gonna implant a tube in her instead.

Folks are giving Lana firewood. Giving her lots of help. So what it means is that America can't be defeated.

You know, back in Illinois, people just don't stick together like they do in the Ozarks.

I write for free to help a lot of folks and recently, I've noticed that people are quoting me and bragging about my words. It's kind of weird.

Things like, the government is going to allow more violence to have a reason to pass more laws against guns. People are really catching on and it's far beyond what I ever thought.

If other folks behave like people in the Ozarks, I believe the political tyrants will be one day boarding their planes to find another country to give them sanctuary.

I swear that I've got this nervous twitch which has become an unhealthy obsession. It started right about the time that I read about Obama running for election in 2008. It got worse when I read about Obama being the hope for all mankind.

Isn't it curious that the Republicans in Congress and Romney throw every fight? Obama just can't be beaten and he can "float like a butterfly and ..." you know. Is Obama really that powerful, or are the Republicans merely taking a dive?

International law and a global government with a global court would mean more profits for corporations and private citizens alike.

Did you know that if Iran hacks your bank account, there is nothing that can be done, because there is no international law.

Iran is going to do those things anyway, so why not allow it in order to have a reason to create global government.

Lawyers would create world peace. And it would explain the Russian that is buying up all the media companies. Control the news, control the thoughts of the people.

Isn't it curious that the Republcans aren't fighting Obama harder than they are now? Unless they also stand to make a great deal of money.

Would it be possible to encourage the purchase of firearms then switch the psychology and make the public feel guilty for owning guns?

If giant corporations only own the media, the people would be simple to control.

If a journalist like me were given something like vioxx, methadone, morphine, hydrocodone and even more drugs and even more dangerous, then the journalist would be easy to prove to be delusional and an unreliable source of information.

Look it up. Journalists have occasionally been slipped LSD to make them seem delusional. It's just not that hard to get to a person's doctor.

I once tracked my medication going from Tennessee through my area to Kansas City, where the pain medication sat for two weeks at a hospital that just happens to have a psych wing. The government has a record of spiking the medication of veterans and soldiers. Even my drill sergeants in the 80's warned me that I was an experiment.

If Obama really is ex-CIA, there's nothing anyone can do except endure and outlast. Survive.

And remember Bodo's words; he expects us to cower in our bunkers.

Use the government's tactics against them. Wait until they become violent.

And why didn't the Republicans jump on Occupy more than they did? They could have created legislation to protect those protestors. Why didn't they? They could have used it to fight Obama, but they didn't.

The Republicans have thrown away a lot of great chances and they did nothing. It's because they'll profit from the NWO just like the Dems and Libs will.

Will the stock market reach 17,000? If it does, consider that phrase of something too good to be true. It's how Obama keeps you happy and content people do not rebel.

Unknown said...

Oh gee whiz, Jimmy. I just read that President Clinton is asking the Supreme Court to repeal the Defense Of Marriage Act or DOMA in favor of gay rights. I'm not addressing gay rights, but rather the oddity of a former President asking a court to strike down a law that he made. It's just curious.

A Canadian's Version of David Letterman's Top 10

This is what other countries think of us, in this case Canada.

TOP-10 "Only In America" Observations

10) Only in America ...could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at
a $35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event.

9) Only in America ...could people claim that the government still
discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a
black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black
while only 12% of the population is black.

8) Only in America ...could they have had the two people most responsible
for our tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and
Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to
be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

7) Only in America ...can they have terrorists kill people in the name of
Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be
harmed by the backlash.

6) Only in America ...would they make people who want to legally become
American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of
thousands of dollars for the privilege, while they discuss letting anyone
who sneaks into the country illegally just 'magically' become American
citizens.

5) Only in America ...could the people who believe in balancing the budget
and sticking by the country's Constitution be thought of as "extremists."

4) Only in America ...could you need to present a driver's license to cash a
check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

3) Only in America ...could people demand the government investigate whether
oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when
the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company ( Marathon Oil) is
less than half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).

2) Only in America ...could the government collect more tax dollars from the
people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars
more than it has per year - for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and
complain that it doesn't have nearly enough money.

1) Only in America ...could the rich people - who pay 86% of all income
taxes- be accused of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay
any income taxes at all

The survivalist burns a little bitty fire and started with a cottonball soaked with vaseline or a birthday candle in the rain under a little bit of shelter.

Yeah they are there alright, practically in LA city limits..

You probably have a cheap Canadian tv.. get one built in America like Jim and Barb's with a filter on it and they won't be saying aboot instead of about... eh?.

I saw a dead tiger in VN once too, guy shot it with a fifty cal and a starlight scope..
It sure got my attention thinking about those suckers out in the jungle when going out on two man LP's..
I hated LP's worse than ambushes.

"When Giffords was shot, I wondered why the hell she didn't have more security"

If I recall correctly, didn't she carry a handgun or was that another female legislator? I think so many of those professional women do carry.

You guys need to relocate to where there is wild food in case you need to forage. And get a good water filter system in case you need to drink questionable city water.

There are almost no wild edible plants out West and lots of them in Missouri. You have lots of medicinal plants though. White sage. Sweet grass.

I hear more and more people checking out caves and I'm with a group planning survival in one such cave for in case of worst case scenario. I've not seen it yet, but I'm sure that I won't like it. No Starbucks.

I'm not looking forward to starvation again, but this time, I've got weapons.

Then there's dogs and cats. They'd never understand there is no more kibble.

I'm figuring the U.S. could one day look like one of those hurricane ravaged places one day. Impure water is what kills most people.

Jimmy, you and Barb should plan to hightail it to Missouri. And I had this dream that SN showed up and she wasn't very happy. Nag, nag, nag.

Rick, the last place in the world I'd want to go to would be Missouri. If worst comes to worst I'll go to northern Arizona. Plenty of big game up there.

Jim McAllister said...

Glo,

I've never seen the whole show but the parts I have seen are silly.

Joyce Behar and Whoppi are the worst. Hasselbeck usually can't get a word in with those two mouths roaring all their liberal crap.

Poor old Walters ought to retire. You're right; cancel it and show reruns of MASH or All in the Family.

My relatives were from Montreal and were French all the way except for one cousin who could speak English and French but was a real punk.

I haven't seen or heard from any of them since I was there in 1958, the year I got out of high school.

We weren't what you would call a close family.

Rick,

I lived in Missouri for about 3 1/2 years in the AF.. Nice state for sure, loved the Ozarks, Bagnell, stayed at Tan-Tar-A a few times, very nice.

I'm spoiled with the AZ winters now though having been here since '87.

I don't know if i could handle the Missouri mud any more.

Actually Mike Slater, I'd prefer northern Arizona as well, but owning property isn't like renting it. I can't just up and leave and go camping in the national forest ... actually it does sound nice.

A 30-06 would do nicely in northern Arizona. As I recall, there are quail too. And dove. Elk.

Without electricity, an elk would go bad, so it would have to be dried on an easily made rack over the smoke of the fire.

But, I'm in Missouri and not in real good health. Not a kid anymore. I miss roughing it.

Jim I can't imagine anyone in their right mind watching any daytime tv whatsoever- I am just about done with sports so I might cut Dish right out of my life after the Yotes are out of the playoffs and headed out of the state.

I am right there with you as far as keeping in touch with my family except for my own kids.
Too much drama and too much bullshit.
Half of them are East coast union types anyway.. the rest in Law enforcement.
throw in a lawyer and and a few artists and that is reason enough to change my phone number every once in a while.

It would have been a drag to have been married to SN and had a boy and a girl. Written all those books. Making all those billions of dollars. Hunting and fishing all over the world. I'm so glad that she chose to be so narcissistic and saved me a lot of trouble. Gee whiz, I might have missed out on my wife's death, the poverty, organ failure, Obama. Just think how one woman's decision making can change the entire world!

In theory, because we will never actually know.

I mean, what if some rich guy were actually nice to a poor kid and that child grew up to be ... ah, nevermind. That would never happen either.

The species is hardwired to be ignorant, thereby proving there is indeed a supreme being that controls everything, or humans would have gone the way of the dinosaur long ago.

Course, there is that moment in time way back in 1981, when a blonde from Maricopa County set in motion a chain of events that resulted in everything we are seeing right now and right here.

In theory, that is.

Boy, there's more hubbub over that Anwar al-Awlaki and how the U.S. killed an American terrorist.

I sort of remember him from college. Good math tutor, a HUGE ego and if you ever watched his videos, he never lost it. He got attention on CSU for wearing some Afghan tribal hat. I mean, the guy even said on a video, "I check my email before prayers in the morning." Duh. I can't imagine how they ever found him! Tiny village. High speed Internet to only a few ... double duh! How many guys send emails from a tiny country to a publisher?

Just proves that having an engineering degree won't save you from being an idiot.

"A shock for people working at IBM's sprawling campus in northwest Rochester Tuesday, as IBM executives shared a decision with workers that hundreds of manufacturing jobs are moving to Guadalajara, Mexico," reported KTTC news.

"In recent years, there have been other such 'resource actions' with the company shifting jobs to China, India or other parts of its 'smarter planet."

CNN is reporting that North Korea declared the peace between South and north to be invalid.

Thanks Middy.

So when everyone is unemployed, who's gonna buy the products in America? Oh! I know, I know! Soldiers and veterans, since they're the only ones left with incomes.

Buy more guns and ammo. The North Koreans, Chinese, Russians, Muslims, Iranians, assorted bad guys are coming.

Now would be a good time for SN to send that money that she promised years ago. There's a little of whathisname in all of us.

Well, any day Steve nicks makes the conversation five comments in a row is the day I say goodbye to the blog.. I can't take any more of Rick's crap today...maybe tomorrow.

Jim McAllister said...

Middy,

Since SN is from Phoenix, maybe we can get her to meet us for lunch some time for some photo ops we could send to Rick.

Maybe she could bring along lindsay Buckingham and Mick.

GOOD NEWS TODAY:

Barbara Walters confirms that Elisabeth Hasselbeck WILL be staying on The View if she wishes and has not been let go.

Also, Behar is definitely gone.

Unknown said...

Don't bother, Jim. She is not doing any favors for me and I really don't want her to go out of her way. I prefer people to be disappointing to me and that way they're predictable.

Poor Middy. He's leaving the blog. I've met my quota.

North Korea is picking a fight with the United States, so they've got a nuke and moreover, that snotnosed kid is ready to use it. They couldn't do that without the blessing of China.

Hey Jim! My paternal grandfather, Christopher G, was half Canadian/half Native American and hailed from Trois Rivieres near Montreal!

Glo said...

No Jim, the good news today would be: The View canceled due to excessive use of dreck and big mouths. It is being replaced by a quality suite of true-comedy reruns.

And forget MASH, please! That's on MeTV. Let's have Barney Miller reruns!!!

Unknown said...

I saw a cartoon that said North Korea won the coin toss and has elected to receive.

Editing some video now of the first try at two cameras and splicing them together, digitally speaking of course.

Hey, get Selena Azizi from Scottsdale to appear with youse guys. She's a struggling model and could use the exposure. The rock star is about retirement age.

Jim McAllister said...

Glo,

Hasselbeck is the best one on there when she can get a word in edgewise between idiots Behar and Whoppi.

As much as I hate to sound like a male pig, Elisabeth also has a hell of a set of gams!

However, I agree with you on the content of the show; it's basically an embarrassment the few times i have seen snippets of it.

I agree; Barney Miller is an all time favorite. Even when they brought in new characters, they were great i. e. Linda Lavin as "Wentworth" and the late Steve Landesburg as "Dietrich."

One of the really funny characters was Jack de Mave as "Marty" the gay character. He was hilarious; really over the top. They later toned him down a bit; probably had complaints.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

You're right about Kelly; a real idiot and I am sick of him and Giffords.

I feel sorry for her but enough is enough with her and that little pimp.

I used to really respect astronauts; he ended that.
