IN RETROSPECT, NIXON WAS AN ANGEL

In 1928 the Democrats ran a governor from New York named Al Smith against Herbert Hoover.  Smith lost but still became famous for his line “Let’s take a look at the record.”

In a tribute to Smith, let’s take a look at another famous Democrat named Obama and his record.  As you review that record, do you get the feeling that Nixon was an angel compared to Obama?   Nixon had Watergate which caused his resignation.  Obama has a laundry list that fortunately even the Democrats are starting to recognize.

“I know nothing, I am not here, I did not
even get up this morning!”
When will proceedings against him finally start?  Will Verizon finally wake up this country about this guy?  Two good indications are that he is losing some major supporters who have championed him from the beginning:  The New York Times and the Huffington Post although the Times, who initially stated that Obama’s government “has lost all credibility” has chickened out and revised its statement to add “on this issue”. The liberal Huffington Post says “Obama, Verizon, and Executive Power Run Amok”.

With that said, let’s briefly “take a look at the record” via a brief overview.  No sense going into details as you readers and I have been discussing this stuff for a sufficient amount of time to understand each point.  It’s just that with a laundry list this long, will anything happen or will guys like Holder and Obama continue to get away with their Sergeant Schultz imitation:  “I know nothing, I am not here, I did not even get up this morning!”

1.  Fast and Furious
2.  AP wire taps
3.  IRS scandal
4.  Benghazi
5.  Verizon
6.  National Labor Relations Board illegal appointments
7.  Sibelius and her HHS trying to illegally solicit funds for Obamacare

Nixon breaks into one office and he is kicked out.  It seems mild compared to the above list.  As Yakov Smirnoff would say: “What a country!”

By the way; you had to dig a bit this week to find the unemployment numbers for May.  That could only mean one thing:  they went up.  Bingo!  Sure enough, up .1 to 7.6 from 7.5 last month.  It’s meaningless since the real unemployment is over 13% but interesting in how the news is conveyed in such a partial manner.

Tom Purcell gave the best thirty min. web broadcast I have heard lately on his Friday the 7th. show.. he is one smart feller who pretty much has figured out the game.

I keep hoping he will get exposure somewhere with an audience but eventually someone's going to notice- one way or the other.

Jim, the difference between Nixon and Obama is Nixon was a Republican. The main stream media hates Republicans and since Obama is a good liberal Democrat he gets a pass.

One of the more colorful members of the Watergate break in was G. Gordon Liddy, an ex FBI agent. He was arrested and thrown in the D.C jail. He was brought to trial and put on the stand and when asked if he promised to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth he replied NO. They threw him back in jail and he was later pardoned by president Jimmy Carter.

I voted for Dick Nixon when I was young.
Nixon opened up China to the west, Obama seems to be pushing China away
and deliberately disrespecting them.
Nixon started an ill advised War On Drugs, Obama seems to be using that
very same long lost yet still sustained war to sabotage the second amendment and return us to slavery.
Nixon actually got pulled into a scandal by attempting to cover up a amaturish
break in and burglarly and of course had no direct paper trail leading to him.
Every one of Obama's scandals are a result from the projection of a tyrannical
despotic lack of governance and of course have no direct paper trail leading to him..
Nixon was surrounded by CIA operatives, Obama is surrounded by Islamic operatives.
Dick Nixon closed the gold window once again allowing citizens to own gold, Obama
will more than likely attempt the same as FDR through the "Emergency Bank Act II" and try to nationalize it again to save his inflated currency.

.. in short nothing of value either of property or concerning personal freedoms are safe in this level of blatant, unrestrained hypocrisy in government.

I doubt I would vote for Dick Nixon twice, but I never even once considered voting
for Baraaaak Obama.

Glo said...

Middy: I voted for Nixon in '72 - my first vote, and the first election 18-year-olds could vote in. I still don't regret it. I just thought it was stupid to have been involved in the whole Watergate thing because his re-election seemed virtually assured.

I remember the night he resigned in '74: I actually still have the cassette tape I made off the TV. Of course, most of my college buddies were thrilled, and I went along with them to the nightclub Shaboo near UConn to celebrate. It was a beautiful night, I was wearing a yellow blouse, and I almost kissed a guy named Henry. Funny the moments of your life that you remember vividly.

Hey Glo, Yeah I have been noticing that my memory gets jarred pretty easily lately, a certain song, the lingering mustiness after a summer rain- you know the triggers that release not repressed but layered thoughts of things long past.

The mind is a wonderful thing when it's used right and I can't imagine the potential if we were all able to simply focus.

Watching those Lawrence Welk shows on utube for instance is a gold mine of forgotten memories for me.
One thought leads to another when I get in that mode- like remembering my mom listening to the Gary Moore show every morning and doing mom work in the tiny kitchen were my earliest memories in Tulsa.
Nobody sits out on the porch enjoying the evening, letting the kids play hide and go seek, talking to neighbors and friends like we did when I was a kid anymore.
..fortress America.

There is no link left for me in that era now that mom and all my uncles and aunts are gone, no one to talk to about those memories growing up, it's a dead end street.

Reminds me of a twilight zone episode about some guy condemned to living eternally among the living, watching his aging friends, wives and kids die leading to yet another strained situation..

..that impossibility became a scary thought to a youngster like me.

But voting aye for Nixon wasn't a real informed vote in my case it was just the way we did things in the family, by the way no one else in my company was real impressed with the way the war was going either..
but that just opens up another can of best left uncovered thoughts.

One big difference between Nixon and the Unclean is political operatives came to Nixon and told him he was going to be impeached so he stepped aside to both avoid that embarrassment and to save the nation from civil unrest.

That is not going to ever happen again because planned civil unrest is just another stepping stone in the socialist playbook to be used to further destroy the nation.
The Unclean will be removed only when his handlers either decide he is done or he dies by natural causes- actually he is a distraction to the real designs we face so it doesn't matter.

Just wait for the point sometime in the near future when someone on the undesirable list's house is on fire and the fire dept. either gets the word to stand down and return to the station house or the 911 call is never completed in time to respond.. computers are that fast, easy to program and leave no paper trail.

.."oh but they would never do that!"..
It's called normalcy bias, you simply can't comprehend because it hasn't happened yet and every reasonable person suffers from a degree of it.

Glo, probably not in Turkey said...

Ah yes, Middy: Turkey.

I saved enough to finance a two-week birthday vacation in September - to Turkey. The flight is paid for, but not the balance of the tour itself. I'm packed and ready. I even got Turkish lira. I have been SO excited to go on this milestone birthday (60th) trip, a photographer's dream.

And now I have been talking to my travel agent about an alternative trip, probably to Germany. This will be more expensive, and so will the flight change, including any change fees.

Of course, things could change, but the longer I wait the less chance I'll be able to get the tour that I want and the flight costs will go up. So I am waiting until the end of June to see if the darling Turks simmer down, or if this becomes Egypt all over again (look what happened to their tourist economy).

While I may sympathize to some degree about their rights to revolt, this, quite frankly, is royally fukking up my long-time plans.

OWS might be the exact opposite of what's going on in Turkey, for the most part it was directed at the mythical one percent not the tyrannical government that is sure to send anyone they disagree with places they might never return from.

The tyrant in Turkey was an appointment by GWB- the same guy who gave us today's police state with this idiotic war on terror.

We have had two Civil Wars in our history so far, and I expect another one in the near future.

But I suppose it's how the media spins it as to how the optics present themselves.
The British media called the ragtag bunch in the Colonies a band of malcontents for forty years leading up to the first American Civil War I would imagine- and the press today is much worse that the one that was spinning the story then.

midnightsstaff said...

And what I mean about the Revolutionary war being basically a civil war was the Colonies were founded for nearly two hundred years with every generation being born and raised a British citizen, so many were sympathetic and owed their allegiance to the Crown.

We were fortunate that time, things have gotten much more difficult but the situation is the same.

Lincoln was not the angelic figure all people were taught in state controlled government schools- after all he suspended the Constitution many times and ignored due process.

.. in fact he might be the very reason we went to war instead of solving the states rights issues without losing half the nation killing each other.

..well that statement alone ought to piss off a few Repulidemocrats out there- but it's time to put down the pom poms and honestly look at the situation.

BTW aren't you happy we freed the slaves only to watch LBJ put them and thirty percent of the white race right back on the plantation either through welfare or affirmative action fueled bureaucrat hiring?

Sadly, Middy, I'm not a beer drinker, so Oktoberfest holds no allure for me. The tour takes in Munich, Franfurt, Berlin, Black Forest, Hamelin, and other sights, and also has an optional trip to Dachau. I am especially interested in that one because I was always fascinated by WW II. I visited a concetration camp last year when I was in Serbia. It was very eerie, and had an atmosphere drenched in oppression. Amazing what human beings can do to one another.

And still do. Technology has progressed to a staggering level, but mankind has been going backwards for quite awhile now.

midnightsstaff said...

I got to hand it to you Rick, you are smart enough not to settle for some dead end menial job and waste your potential competing with those of limited vision at the lower level of employment- that's the spirit!.

With bond rates in the dumper everyone I know is looking for a safe investment with real potential like your start up enterprise just to shelter wealth.
Maybe you should send Jim a prospectus/business plan and we can take a look at it.

You don't even have to do it yourself, have one of the Kep enterprise employees whip something together- I doubt you have the spare time to waste.

Owning your own business, being the CEO might be the only way to go from now on out.

..Funny thing about those illegals that are now about to come out of the shadows, we have been told they will not get any benefits nor will they be subject to Obamacare until the border is secure- no freeloaders need apply!!
(and they really mean it this time!!)

But it also occurred to me that if they weren't subject to Obamacare nor fall under the constraints of legal citizens they obviously still have to work and will be encouraged to do just that, in fact the only ones looking to get in the shadows right now seems to be people like me- sadly as you might have heard in the news, that is no longer an option.

So as soon as the ink dries and the gunfire subsides they will become a prime employee pool target because the employing agency will realize they have little extended overhead pressure to that side of the books thanks to Obamacare, no healthcare is having to be offered- they will just have to use the er for primary care like today, only there will be thirty million more of them at min.
Plus they can hire them for sixty hours a week with no downside- win-win!!

So all of those people who do not normally make six figure incomes such as Cj will now have that reality to face for a very long time.. a depressed jobs market accompanied with stagnant or falling wages for decades with costs of living going dramatically higher.

So I guess it's a win-win for everyone except those greedy hourly employees that have been getting fat living off the land way too long on a 30 hour a week work schedule.

Retirees on fixed incomes get a reprieve- depressed labor for decades and an endless glut of cheap labor available.
So it's going to be just like living in Meh-hicco, but not Rocky Point..

Never mind that you have frequently mentioned that the title is held by a rock star, bragging about how you are unable to pay your current bills does nothing to promote investor confidence in your ability to manage and pay back their investment.

I'm thinking anyone who worked hard for their money would never, ever consider handing it over to someone as irresponsible and unstable as you. On the bright side, you may not be raking in the green....But you still have the green wall to project future fantasy's on!

You know what I'm doing on the fourth of July?- I am send notice to every rep I have telling them that I am changing my life long voter registration from Republican to the Constitution party in Az.

I am sick of being used like the cheap whore once every two years and watching every one of them bow to the false gods of liberalism.
here is the link to their website..

http://azconstitutionparty.com/

and this is their platform.

Seven Principles of the Constitution Party are:

1. Life: For all human beings, from conception to natural death;

2. Liberty: Freedom of conscience and actions for the self-governed individual;

3. Family: One husband and one wife with their children as divinely instituted;

4. Property: Each individual's right to own and steward personal property without government burden;

5. Constitution: and Bill of Rights interpreted according to the actual intent of the Founding Fathers;

6. States' Rights: Everything not specifically delegated by the Constitution to the federal government, nor prohibited by the Constitution to the states, is reserved to the states or to the people;

7. American Sovereignty: American government committed to the protection of the borders, trade, and common defense of Americans, and not entangled in foreign alliances

..Yeah I know it's simplistic but there isn't one issue I disagree with in principle with this straight forward approach.
what we are doing now doesn't work..
If they ever get a chance probably ninety percent of legal mexicans would agree as well- they are family and work oriented and should oppose the party of death by nature.
actually the more I think about it.. the Republican party is already dead to me.

Yeah I know.. the Chihuahua track didn't work but...my team has to park some investment money somewhere- it's getting hot and I gotta do something with all these German Shepherds in the back yard- at least the Chichuahuas were easier to clean up after.

"Rickshaw"- like chop sticks.. not to be confused with Rick- so don't get excited.

Knock off early this week, don't burn yourself out with the long hours Rick, it's a marathon not a sprint- gotta pace yourself- learned that in Readers Digest.

Rick,

Think about what you are saying:

I'll talk to Lana about Middy's offer to buy my farm, but she's going to say, Hell No!

Middy tried to buy me off the Internet and he paid Nick more money to try to get rid of me.

Try to lowball me again, and I'll see who I can get fired with WMG. It might be putting Shorty's assistant in the unemployment line.

Maybe Middy could buy off a yard boy for a thousand dollars, but it's gonna cost him $1.5 million to buy my silence.

Now I'm willing to forgive ignorant rich people, because your parents were ignorant fools, but be nice.

Syria's going down. Bitch all you want, but it's a done deal.

About the only thing you said that has a thread of sense is about Syria.

Gloria wake up in a cold sweat with the same recurring dream of looking frantically for a red pen but finding nothing but blue ones- I know the feeling I can't even wake up anymore from the bete noir which is magnified dueling wits with a diabolical black cat.
Nevermore...

Which reminds me I did get that school loan approved, I contacted the Nevermore Funeral Academy in Baltimore Md. and skyped the dean about admissions.
He broke it down to me in no uncertain terms that to be placed (I think he meant admitted) in Nevermore you practically need a Congressional sponsor or be part of a bloodline that rivals European royalty stretching past the foundation of Transylvania.

He also made a left handed reference to my age implying that I might be needing their services before graduation.
..nevertheless that was the most positive interview I've had lately so things are getting better in my life.

Rick, I certainly hope you have success and make a lot of money, that's the only way people can learn the truth about who is actually greedy when they find out what a progressive tax structure is all about.

Well the chickens was the deal breaker it appears, if you can't understand the subtle dance of price negotiations/bid and counter-bid how are you ever going to deal with flighty, out of control hormone dominated talent agents..

I guess that begs the question of will your clients actually have agents, but I suppose the industry in the Land of Truman is as corrupt as any other today.

I had Tina Turners son Rickey in the lockup who had his own talent agent contingent on an appeals court judgment of course.

We got our first taste of monsoon yesterday, typically we don't see any monsoonal activity until after the fourth of July, so this came about 1 month early. Had thunder, lightening, rain and even pea sized hail. Temp dropped from 77, to 62 in 15 minutes. Didn't last more than 20 minutes then back to sunshine.

Made a mess of the deck, but I'm not complaining, I'm hoping for more, a little early season moisture would be a blessing. Most of our forest fires are caused by dry lightening in June, which is hot, dry and especially windy.

Sorry Jim, I don't do the PC BS. I'm about as un PC as one can be. I have a Confederate flag that I fly ever January on the birthday of Robert E. Lee. One of the greatest Generals in American history.

Back when I worked for the phone company they came up with the brilliant idea to have everyone attend "Diversity" class to better understand minorities.

Needless to say their plans didn't quite work out. People would get up and leave and others would turn their chairs to the wall and ignore the whole thing.

After 3 or 4 of the classes the company dropped the idea because they realized they no one gave a rat's ass.

Good work Jan- and you did it before happy hour.

Barry's telling whoppers again, .."Well, in the end, and what I’ve said, and I continue to believe, is that we don’t have to sacrifice our freedom in order to achieve security. That’s a false choice. That doesn’t mean that there are not tradeoffs involved in any given program, in any given action that we take. So all of us make a decision that we go through a whole bunch of security at airports, which when we were growing up that wasn’t the case."
