THIS AND THAT TO START THE NEW YEAR

I watched a great film last night; one that I have seen many times but I never tire of it.  It was
“The Asphalt Jungle” from 1950 and starred many popular stars from that era like Sam Jaffe, James Whitmore, Sterling Hayden, Louis Calhern, and in a small part, a beautiful 24 year old unknown blond named Marilyn Monroe.

Two long ago policemen stand by their 1949 Ford
I love classic films like “The Asphalt Jungle” not only for the better actors in general and the character actors in particular, but for the miscellaneous pieces of the past that I remember well as a kid and their value as examples of film noir art.  For example, the opening scene shows a 1949 Ford police car cruising the waterfront of a large unnamed Midwestern city.  I was a real car buff in that era of my young life and loved 1949-50 Fords for their sleek styling and design over the boxier 1948 and previous Fords of that era.

The Republicans have lost again to Obama but I don’t think they had much choice if they wanted to retain even a shred of viability for the future.  By allowing the cliff they have survived to fight another day while allowing it would have finished them in 2014.  It probably will anyway as giving up $660 billion in revenue for $62 billion in cuts doesn’t make much sense.

Three pieces of good news though:  1. Many of the ones who supported this nonsense are going to see higher taxes anyway and jobs lost.  2. The public reaction in general contains a lot of anger toward Obama according to comments this morning in various news stories.  3. The best story is about last Friday when John Boehner told Harry Reid to “Go f-ck yourself!” not once but twice.

He will probably get overruled but a U. S. District Judge has ruled in favor of Domino’s Pizza tycoon Tom Monaghan who has protested having to cover the mandatory morning after pill part of Obamacare because of his religious beliefs.

Hobby Lobby has also sued for the same reasons.  If nothing else, these cases may arouse some public awareness.  It amazes me that any government in the USA would make employers pay for a morning after pill but that is the mentality we now live under.

Syndicated writer Kathleen Parker wrote a piece this morning that echoes and updates what I wrote in 2008 about the demise of hard copy newspapers.  When I wrote my piece in 2008, Twitter, Smartphones, and texting were in their infancy.  The biggest fear of the hard copy papers was readers going to their desk top computers to read the paper.

Now, there are so many other sources for news that many papers like the Arizona Republic have resorted to paid subscriptions to their online editions.  We’ll see how that goes at $10 a month cost.  I bought in but barely use it since I am stubborn and like the hard copy.

I think there is still a certain romance to waddling out to the driveway to get the paper in the morning then snapping it open next to a cup of Joe to see the headlines.

There is also a lot more excitement with the hard copy if you have a column printed in it.  Knowing that about 300,000 people all over Phoenix have a copy of something you wrote is exciting stuff; a lot more exciting than seeing it on a computer screen and wondering how many see it.

I hope the Smartphone people are not holding their breath waiting for me to buy one.  Ain’t gonna happen!

I find it a little funny pointing out the reduction on people's paychecks this week. One ardent Obama supporter said "He was only supposed to tax the rich".

Haha -- the sucker fell for it, eh?

With a 2% increase to SS, I guess that money will be used to help the economy for people not having it and spending it?

The republicans caved, but that's expected -- they're buying into the LCD that the DNC painted them as women raping, hating, supremacists, and are now trying to shed that label that liberals gave to them, even if it's not necessarily true.

Ah well, what'cha gonna do?

At least I got Reid outta my hair -- hope he doesn't come to AZ tho.

Mandatory conception??

Actually I would support mandatory conception, but only for females- it's mandatory contraception I oppose.

strike one Jim-
..there is a reason I never get invited back.

All silliness aside, I found that watching the twilight zone marathon with the sound off and music turned on is great.. all of a sudden you start noticing all the things that were familiar in the life we used to lead.
I saw my old Merc.

And Rod was a master of suspense, all those doctors and nurses that looked like Redskin fans in drag were skillfully hidden by stage lighting or blocking until the last- just like Tim Allen's neighbor.. just the eyes..

I can't watch modern crap any more.

Jim, The Republicans caved again. I guess that's why I left the party 10 years ago. I see that McCain and Kyl voted for it. At least all the Arizona Republicans in the house voted against it.

I spent the last few days of 2012 working at home (no work, no pay), and curled up under the bedcovers with my dogs watching DVDs: Aspen, a 1977 mini-series with dreamy Sam Elliott (pretty bad series, especially horrible acting by Bo Hopkins), and seasons one and two of Murder One, a TV series from the mid-90s. YIKES!!! Did people really wear those clothes and those hairstyles back then? I can't remember. I also finished 1976's I, Claudius. It seemed better back then, but still had some good scenes and acting. Derek Jacobi had one scene which was a heartbreaker. I've started moving on to Nowhere Man, a forgotten series from 1995. Very interesting premise and makes you very wary of the government ... Looking forward to 2013 and hope I keep working. Traveling in April to SC to visit my brother, and unless those psychotic Syrians get Turkey involved in a war, will spend my Big 6-0 in the middle of the country visiting troglydyte caves before moving towards Ankara and Istanbul. Fingers crossed.

Middy: Twilight Zone never loses its appeal. Have you tried Sterling's later series, Night Gallery? That had some very good episodes. Think two eps are on METV in the middle of the night. My fave? Pickman's Model with Brad Dillman.

I don't know how much more of this crap the average citizen can take and still justify staying with the Republican party.. yet there they are the same old victims making excuses for these yellow dogs.

I just wish there was some place to go to get away from these clowns mike- I moved to Arizona to get away from those morons and look at what has happened here, I thought this was the state of Barry Goldwater.
..it's turning into the state of The Red Menace.

McCain is just another Democrat, Kyl is just a gutless pissant- I wasn't worse off with Feinstein and Boxer.

Actually the acting on the tz ranged from professional to pretty so-so with a fat thumb on the theatrics and quite a bit of over playing the role.

no one actually lives a life like actors project on the screen, there is no camera demanding our attention.

Theater is illusion, the viewing audience was not as sophisticated in the early days so things that wouldn't make it today were common-
I can still remember the one camera live presentations on CBS theater in the 50's.

As I say, watching with the sound off concentrating on technique rather than dialogue is a fun way to watch old familiars like Next stop Willoghby or Agnes muttering to herself for thirty minutes climbing up and down a ladder beating a toy spaceship to pieces.

When one sense is omitted the other's sharpen- it's a great advantage some times to not hear well.

hehe... remembering the past is the best part of getting old .....and having lived during a time when life was open, free-wheeling, and enjoyed by all at every age. Government protected our way of life, not dictated it...and we answered to our family and our neighbors, not to a bunch of organizations and politicians dictating their opinionated and asinine rules on everyone but themselves.
The movies of the day reflected those freedoms, while interjecting lessons in responsibility and citizenship.
In other words...THE GOOD OLD DAYS!

DG,

I think this is the tip of the iceberg for loser Obama. The suckers are finally realizing that this guy is a phony. Just like the recent $63 per person charge that has been buried in Obamacare to cover those who can't pay for their insurance.

You're from Pennsy so I'm sure you remember the hot shot salesmen on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City peddling all that junk like knives and can openers.

Obama is a crook like those guys and anyone with average intelligence will eventually figure him out. I don't see why it is taking this long. I almost forgot, Most of them live on 8 Mile in Detroit city.

He may as well use the line of those peddlers in A. C.: "O. K. folks! I'll tell ya what I'm gonna do!"

$660 million in new taxes and $62 billion in cuts? I don't know how he gets away with it.

Jim McAllister said...

Middy,

LOL, My bad. try "morning pill."

I see mandatory conception as one law i would like to abide by.

Jim McAllister said...

Yeah, TZ is still a hoot.

Serling worked in Cincy TV for a time before he got famous. He played a clown on WLW.

It's hard to start at the stop even fore guys like him.

Another thing I love about TZ is the actors of which many went on to great things. Ed Wynn, Aggie, Gig Young, Kevin McCarthy, James Daley, Cliff Robertson, James Coburn, many others.

Jim McAllister said...

Steve,

I figured they would cave also. They were kind of between a rock and a hard place.

This is going to come back on Obama. So far he has been luckyt, not smart. Those kind of guys eventuall get caught.

The phony thing now is the way they are hiding Hillary. As soon as she gets rid of the blood clot, she'll probaly have the mumps or something to further delay her questioning.

The worst part is that most people probably have forgotten Benghazi. As long as O's constituents keep getting their free stuff, what do they care about Chris Stevens.

I feel sorry for that poor guy's family.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

No question; it's a crappy deal.

Jim McAllister said...

Glo,

Whenever I hear Sam Elliott's voice on those Coors or Dodge ads, you immediately come to mind.

He recently was in a mini series on Encore where he played Sam Houston. I think it was made in the mid 80s.

Have you ever seen him in "Lifeguard" (1976)? He is about 32 and in great shape in that one. Your kind of guy!

Nobody can do voiceovers like Sam!

I watch METV occasionally and well remember "Night Gallery." It was in color and had some good episodes.

Jim McAllister said...

Middy,

The biggest fraud on TV is "reality" TV.

I'm not saying reality TV is bad; I'm just saying that it is not reality.

Shows like "Pawn Stars" and "Hardcore Pawn" are fun but nobody acts like that in real life. That's the way it is with all that equipment around and directors, lights, etc.

As you say, they have to play to the camera which ends all realism..

Jim McAllister said...

Sam,

Great line from you "Government protected our way of life, not dictated it...and we answered to our family and our neighbors, not to a bunch of organizations and politicians dictating their opinionated and asinine rules on everyone but themselves."

That's good stuff and Oh so true.

People have really changed. I have neighbors that I've never talked to simply because they never seemed interested in being the old fashioned definition of "neighbors."

I think when I was growing up in Hyde Park in Cincy in the 50s, I knew everyone on the street.

It's been a weird few days.

Here's the New Year's Eve Party that I went to! A short film of about 1:57, entitled "Lana's Adventures." http://youtu.be/4O6oWYIvl7I

I think that TV station interview fell apart and that's actually convenient. I'm still experimenting with the film making, although I found two young ladies who want to be in future broadcasts.

I miss the old movies that Jim talks about, but today's audiences want certain things that I'm not. And I'm better at working behind the camera than in front of it.

Dudes, even Bill O'Reilly admits that Mitt Romney threw the election. He pulled punches that he could have delivered and didn't. And I'm sorry, but I don't like the soap opera, "As The Fiscal Cliff Nears," a miniseries presented by the Republicans and Democrats.

Do you suppose they had to rehearse their roles?

Washington needs Jerry Buckner to narrate and build the drama. I think the reality show name, "Big Brother" is taken.

I just wish I could buy a new Desoto or listen to the solid door closing on a Studebaker again..
How pleasant to watch Groucho and his falling duck on tv instead of Karl and Joe Biden lying on every issue and getting away with it.

Life was a lot different seen from behind the un restrained wheel of a Studebaker- no seat belts, remember??

It was a lot simpler mainly because we didn't have to worry about the government, just the Ruskies and the threat of nuclear war..

Now the government is the only thing I worry about... times have changed.

midnightsstaff said...

I have made a point of walking across the street and meeting my neighbors Jim, not one has done likewise nor do they seem to know one another.

People construct little circles around themselves that if you wander in they shell up, I normally look strangers in the eye when I am out and I doubt five percent look back..

That slighting of the eyes combined with other body language gives the criminal element advantage because it sends a message you are a potential victim.

A few years ago I gave a young enlisted guy across the street a large screen tv I was replacing for his garage sale, I figured a struggling military family could use the extra cash..

He wheeled it back to me a little later and said it doesn't work and left..
I took it inside, connected it to the right channel and caught the gal he was going to sell it to, showed her it worked and gave it to her in front of him..

He could have at least asked me how to hook it to the right channel but decided to front me off like I was dumping junk on his doorstep instead of contributing to a worthy cause.

Haven't talked to him in over five years and never will.

Two things I liked about the lady who was my sophomore World History teacher: I was her favorite student and she drove a '52 Desoto. I always remember her calling it a '52 "Desota".

Good old Groucho: "Say the magic word and win $25."

Jim McAllister said...

Middy,

The only neighbors we have that we know well are a single lady next door and a couple across the street.

All of them are in the 75-85 age group and are really nice people. Barb and I are a few years behind them in age but we all have the same attitude about being good neighbors.

There are others we wave to as they walk their dogs but don't really know them. I think they are intimidated by my celebrity! LOL

It is a lot different now. People are a lot more uptight especially on the roads.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

That's cool that your dad knew Gig Young.

Young was a good actor, mainly in supporting roles. A lot of mystery about his death. Supposedly, in 1978 he shot his wife dead then committed suicide at age 64.

I always remember his Oscar winning role in "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" from 1969.

He was great as the guy in charge of the dance marathon. "Yowsa! Yowsa! Yowsa!

The only trouble with that film was that pig Jane Fonda was in it.

This is the type of time wasting the Republican party is obsessed over attempting to pile on another layer of un enforceable legislation... like I said Jim, the empty headed representative of yours, Ugenti who out spent the Red Menace is little better than the socialist chameleon from Toledo..

Thank you for the compliment, Jimmy.

I'm trying to learn from you folks to be civilized. My friend, Kerry, from Australia has been advising me. SN said in 2007, that we couldn't talk anymore and all this nonsense is HER FAULT.

I had thought about selling the farm to me and business partners to get a loan and build a home/studio with lots of bedrooms/baths, but Kerry told me to just sell the farm and move to Colorado or Arizona. She understands aspergers and encourages me to work again. My "sister" knows me better than my own family! She's nice.

"It would be a misdemeanor to send an e-mail or text message that appears to come from another person and is intended to harm or defraud"

Wealthy celebs will be exempt of course.

So Jimmy, my sister says I need to leave Missouri, but people in fame only say that they will help me. The evidence says they will only offer kind advice, be nice to me, but not actually teach me what I need to know of how to behave in their world.

Johnny Depp welcomed a convicted felon, wrongly accused, but SN would never ever admit that she and I are friends. Heck, if she had a kid like me, I'd have shrinks, live in a nice home, have everything I wanted and no one would ever know that I existed, to protect mommy's perfect image. Her own management treated my roommate Nick, better than me! Celebs love convicted felons, but don't like me. So how good of people could they be in real life?

The shrink told me how rich people are, back in 2008. I just thought those were rumors, but he used to work for a rich person and caring for their imperfect kid.

What?- no NY resolutions?

This is a year out of the twilight zone as far as I can see, we are becoming east germans, little hope, impending doom and two more years of cryin' John leading the resistance.
This is what happens when we abandon the two party system, we end up with one party rule.

Rick, the problem with celebrities is they aren't real people, just projections of what they want you to see.. maybe you should focus on real people instead of Stevie Nicks who has been dead for years.
Rock stars pick their nose, emit foul odors, forget to pay their utilities and just commit most of the daily embarrassing acts most of us do but nobody cares.
When you feed the beast it can become a very destructive influence in your life.. a diet of herbs and seasonings is not a balanced diet, you need a bit of roughage and protein and not just three a day of Rosemary and Thyme..

I suggest you raise chickens instead.

Music is an important part of life but gravitating towards their screwed up lives isn't.

Hey honey, me and the guys are gonna borrow the plane and go get a cheeseburger. Love ya!

I want a new life this year. I guess I'll learn to act like Jim.

Me and the boys are gonna visit Scottsdale and I need someone to drink martinis for me. And I'll need a report on Monday of how drunk I got and if I woke up in my own puke. I want pictures. Glossy ones. With rock stars too. I'm calling in a pinch drunk.

Well, I got Nick back in college. He owed a few hundred bucks and not being smart like Jimmy, I paid it. Now maybe he can get an education and contribute to society. He's young. Nobody ever did that for me, so that's why I do that stuff.

"The only trouble with that film was that pig Jane Fonda was in it."

Is she still single? I could hang out with her or SN. I like the latter better.

Oh c'mon Jimmy. You expect me to take dating seriously at my age? I sleep with a fricking machine. Sexy, huh?

Jane Fonda or SN would be an improvement over life as it is now.

I get invites from elderly music stars to go play Bingo. I think I'd like to choose the chicks that I hang with. Bad reputation? That's okay. Credit ratings are the same as Jane Fonda or SN's reputation. Some of my best friends have bad reputations.

It's gonna be a good year, Jimmy. I'll find me a well-to-do woman and settle down.

Jim McAllister said...

Middy,

Once again I am reminded of that episode of "Cheers" where they have the best waitress contest.

Carla and some unbelievable babe (Shawnee) are the finalists.

Carla proceeds to carry a tray of drinks doing cartwheels and not spilling a drop. The other girl (Shawnee)can hardly walk with a tray and spills drinks all over the place. The winner? Shawnee.

When Carla complained that she was the best by far, the judges looked at her, then at Shawnee and said, "Yeah, but look at her!"

That same analogy can be applied to Ugenti and the Menace: We look at the Menace, then back to Ugenti. Then we look to Ugenti again and the decision is final: "Just look at her!"

Who ever said that brains are a criterion for success? Would you rather have the Menace represent you?

Jim McAllister said...

Middy's right, Rick.

What we see of celebs on the screen are not what we see in public. Good example: Lindsay Lohan, who I still predict will never reach 30 alive.

Frank Sinatra was a great singer and actor but a horse's ass many times in public.

Just look at those mug shots of those Hollywood phonies when they are dragged into the station. They sure make people Like Lohan and Mel Gibson look more like a person off the block.

Jim McAllister said...

Glo,

You REALLY know your movies and movie stars.

You're right, at least Fonda died in "They Shoot Horses." What a POS she is.

Remember Red Buttons in that film? Red was a funny guy but broke away to some serious roles and even won an Oscar for "Sayonara."

That film was not very realistic as they had Brando being pals with Buttons. Brando was a Major or Lt. Colonel pilot and Buttons was a lowly enlisted Airman 3rd Class.

Having been in the AF all I can say is that would never happen.

Welcome to Hollywood! They are pros at teasing the imagination.

I went on a Universal Studios tour in 1975 and it is amazing what they do to small cheesy sets to make them look gorgeous on film.

Do you think this is meaningful legislation?

Clownaforina last year passed a consumer protection regulation that makes any lending company that gets a request for a loan adjustment have to respond within 7 days, and an answer within thirty days.. the unintended consequences has been the lender upon receiving a request begins the process of forclosure, for good reason- something any thoughtful person might anticipate, but those lawmakers in Clownafornia like this nitwit you own seem unable to see the larger picture.

Kind of like destroying potential evidence of criminal activity with every "no questions asked" cash for clunkers gun buying stunt they pull.

Do you think everyone in Compton turns in their ak's and 9's?
no it's the broken, probably stolen single shot shotguns and .22 single shots they have.

..But yeah you are right it was a beauty pageant- maybe she will turn out to be a good cook- but right now all she has shown is she is an ambitious cook- and those are the most dangerous type.

Actually I would like to see Feinstein go to Compton and break down doors looking for guns- the cops won't even go there.

"maybe you should focus on real people instead of Stevie Nicks who has been dead for years."

You have some valid points about celebrities in general, but Stevie Nicks is important to me. Yes, I have noticed from rockalittle.com that the same song, something about goodbye, has been there for a month or so and it would be simply delusional to believe that it's a message to me. That's absurd.

Ms Nicks has proven that she can talk. Her executives in her label told me that she chooses who she talks to. So she's being a snob by not talking to me, therefore she's not at all a normal person, but just a box of cereal. A meat roll. She's a piece of plastic with a bar code. She's dead as a human.

Liz Rosenberg once said that my problem is that I like to make friends with celebrities. No, not all of them.

And Lindsay Lohan even said that she's doing nothing wrong and she's right. As per Stevie Nicks' standards in Hollywood, she is behaving properly as a celebrity should.

I suspect that Stevie Nicks is about to prove to me that we are not in fact, friends. She's going to be very mean about it and she believes in her mind that she's doing the right thing. Her friends and label are probably telling her it's the right thing to do.

It is a mistake and Stevie really needs to reconsider the decisions that she's making.

If you mean that she is dead to me, then she is no longer required and is dismissed. I can just volunteer to help federal agencies. There are lots of people in Scottsdale that need my special kind of investigative expertise. I mean people that I can help put in prison, but only if the politicians believe it will help their careers.

Once I learned the rules, how this world works, life became much simpler for me.

I really would like to talk to Stevie occasionally, but if that is not possible, I will understand and behave appropriately. Is her brother still mixing weed with his tobacco? Maybe that was just a rumor.

Unknown said...

I would prefer to focus on Stevie Nicks and study the business of making films. It's like telling a story with visuals than text and it's what people want.

But if Stevie doesn't want to be friends, I will understand completely. I'll just help someone else to make more money. Someone who is ethical and moral and I'll sacrifice Stevie for the good of the civilization. Examples must be made for both good and bad.

Look at the movie, "Red Dawn."

This movie, Red Dawn 2012, was held up for at least three years, if not more, to change the content, the enemy from one to another and it was specifically made to gain a specific reaction, but not pointed at the "wrong" people. The Chinese have been nice to us.

Now, Stevie Nicks is about one step above Jane Fonda, according to some in the government and some military veterans. So it would be overly simple to trash the woman. It's damn hard work to make her angelic.

But if she wants to be forgotten, I can do that really well and maybe I can choose a Muslim singer instead. I can write about the wicked witches in Hollywood.

There is a small and growing Muslim rock thing starting. I don't drink anyway. Don't smoke tobacco, but I don't do floors. Can't get up and all that old man shit. But I can write for them instead of an old rock star.

There's always writing for the liberals.

Unknown said...

Seems to me that Ms Stevie Nicks has said that I'm dead to her before. Just how is her being dead to me harmful? It would be different if I were on a million dollar allowance and suddenly she cut me off, but NOPE, so there is ZERO control.

Oh, I know. She wants to pretend that we just met! Yeah, okay. Whatever. Don't care.

Your advice is useful people. I studied Jimmy's limited history on the Internet. I don't know who Middy is, etc. etc. etc. and don't care. Stevie Nicks' rules: if you have nothing that helps me, I don't care.

Jim McAllister said...

I must say that SN is more under control than those other dummies like Lohan, Kardashians, Gibson, etc.

Unknown said...

"Edge of 17" ... I really do not like those old songs. Thank God that I've forgotten so much of my life. SN was so mean back then and all the time, I was working in secret to protect people like her.

An FBI agent told me once that Hollywood celebs think the world is created just for them with a big red bow.

Who wrote the laws protecting those people so much? And why is it that veterans can be disarmed by doctors, but it's okay that some drunken celeb runs over people?

But we aren't good enough to talk to those people. Their managers and publicists are busy hanging up on people and the best comment I ever got was, "Harumph!" There are off-the-record comments, but those are off the record.

Middy,

Interesting about Greece from Farage's column.

I see where Obama's approval rating has dropped in Real Clear and Gallup. Are people finally waking up to this guy's phoniness?

His decisions on the "cliff" are sticking out like a neon sign broadcasting his inadequacy as president.

Greece should be a good example to Americans about what can happen when demagogues take over. Meanwhile, the SOB takes a $20 million vacation on our dime while he nails workers another 2% on SS tax.

To paraphrase "Jaws", "I think I'm going to need a bigger gun."

I still think the American people will eventually find out what we already know. I just hope something can be done about it.

Jim McAllister said...

Middy,

Interesting about San Antonio. This time a gun saved a lot of lives so naturally no reporting of it in the MSM. The order probably came straight from Obama.

I have enough faith in Americans to think this isn't going to continue forever. There has to be some kind of revolution brewing somewhere in this country to get rid of these a-holes.

midnightsstaff said...

There is a very good reason the media wants to ignore the problems of Greece, Spain and the rest of Europe.

It's easier for the big lies to be circulated when the public is kept intentionally ignorant.

That video John provided of people trying to explain basic geography and thinks Israel is a nation of muslim scum serves to explain why we chose a monster to begin with.
..anyone with an ounce of sense instinctively knows a fraud when they see one- every one of them is a low information yet opinionated Obama voter.

Yes Greece is real, it's coming and neither party wants to admit it because that would mean everything they stand for represents a certain acceptance of insanity.

Did you notice that everyone in Pierce's audience except for one agreed with Jessie?- (and I am no fan of Jessie Ventura) it's because they have never heard the responsible side of the argument before- after all, they are loyal CNN viewers and mindless Obama voters.

Two good games today, maybe the Beagles can sneak up on the Texans- whaddaya think?

Proud, people like you never suffer. I've had to take orders from garbage like you. I look through history and all the tyrants are like YOU with one exception ... they weren't completely full of it like Proud.

Jimmy, you claim to be all that and a bag of fries, but I can't find you on the radar until you moved to Scottsdale. It's possible that you're like me. You fit the profile. So you retire to Cocainedale and did you get to know Dr. Gamelson before you left Kansas? Maybe you had cancer then and just decided to retire after working hard all your life. Maybe you went to the same church or played golf together. Like minded people. Respected. Probably worked for or with Jess Nicks and that's how you know Stevie. And you all know Stevie. All of you. Start writing stuff to impress your friends and remember the past, when things made sense. I know dude. It's like the world is run by fricking morons, but there will always be more idiots like Proud trying to run the world.

If I knew what I know now in 1980 ... I know now that my meddling made Stevie Nicks into what she is today. No husband. No kids. The meanest woman in Hollywood. But I can't change the past, but I don't have to help people who will one day treat people with such utter disregard. History is full of people just like Stevie Nicks and they usually get beheaded in revolutions.

But what I can do is make sure that in my area, there are not going to be any Stevie Nicks' made, no Proud's, no Middy's and the cocaine/heroin/meth trade is going to stop. In my experience, rich people import that stuff.

Rich people get away with a lot of stuff, but since 1980, I've proven again and again, that they are the root of all evil. But, the government uses the rich, because poor folks ain't gonna pay for the wars.

The Clinton tax rates are back for the rich, so you can bet your ass there will be a war or one escalating. Profits for the right people must be made. If any of you assholes are smuggling drugs or financing it ... I wouldn't worry.

Drugs and alcohol are a good way to control people. To make them mess up so they more or less control themselves through the constant struggle of life.

Even Stevie Nicks is a tool. A Product. A bar code. They say there is no slavery, but just ask the rich if they want to give it all up for Food Stamps. That's slavery, bitches.

In the end, we need people like Proud, Jimmy, Stevie and their money makes our lives comfy. Feed the pig and all that. Oink.

If you think you're better than me, then you aren't seeing that you live in a fence, your house is a barn and you're just livestock for the global 1 percent to be milked. Only in Stevie's case, that woman will be milked for eternity as long as people buy her music.

So in the end, maybe God did make things right. I live in the forest as I've always wanted and I'm retired at the right age.

Got the new pickups on the SG and it is a bad ass guitar now. And if Stevie is dead to me, there is always Madonna to emulate and she's nice.

You guys are of no use to me re: Madonna. Give the ghost of Stevie Nicks my regards.

An eye-popping $13 billion would go to “mitigation” projects to prepare for future storms.

Other big-ticket items in the bill include
$207 million for the VA Manhattan Medical Center;
$41 million to fix up eight military bases along the storm’s path, including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba;
$4 million for repairs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida;
$3.3 million for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center and
$1.1 million to repair national cemeteries.

Budget watchdogs have dubbed the 94-page emergency-spending bill “Sandy Scam.”
$58.8 million for forest restoration on private land.
$197 million “to… protect coastal ecosystems and habitat impacted by Hurricane Sandy.”
$10.78 billion for public transportation, most of which is allocated to future construction and improvements, not disaster relief.
$17 billion for wasteful Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), a program that has become notorious for its use as a backdoor earmark program.

A Reasonable man might ask why we need to fund these questionable items with borrowed money at the expense of future generations.

Same old Bengals, no offense. The one TD they got was an interception run in from the ten.

You can't win in the NFL kicking two field goals. However, they had a good year at 10-6 and hopefully with Andy Dalton at QB they can build an offense.

I love the Cincy fans. If you want them to buy tickets, you better win. They had several games blacked out this year because they didn't meet the fan's expectations.

Quite a contrast to Phoenix where those fools buy those $100 shirts and waste their time with the Cardinals. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have half the place rooting for the visitors.

I see Andy Reid got a 5 year deal in KC. Pretty lucky for him.

I would laugh openly at the mention of a trilateral commission or The Rothchilds manipulating our currency to fiat or the government running dark off book CIA operations.

Even a rational, honest man tends to start suspecting his own sanity when everyone around him is convinced all is fine and suggest to "notice things" is the sign of paranoia..

No more- this is an event happening in real time that is of the same magnitude of 1917 Russia or the 1930's German elections.

I wish I was able to just bury my head, watch the hummingbirds, football and ignore it but that's not possible.

I only wish we could focus on mere mandatory conception issues with these ravening wolves.. but I found out long ago that just because you ignore a problem.. that doesn't mean the problem will ignore you.

I seriously hope you are right and people are waking up to what an actual monster looks like in real time, but I have my doubts.

I love to see the Packers win. I've watched them for many years from being a kid and watching LaMar Mchan at QB through Hornung, Dowler, Dale, Chuck Mercein, McGee, Starr and on.

I like that such a small town can support a team.

The country is falling apart with class warfare, worries about economics, immigration, and guns.

What better way to reinforce the believers than to have another gun incident pop up a couple weeks after the worst one at Sandy Hook to re-stoke the fears of his liberal followers who can't see daylight and will believe whatever he wants them to believe.

It even happens in Aurora! It's like a badly written play. Hell, why not revisit the place where one of the worst shootings happened?

I agree with you. I wish I could look at the hummingbirds and pet my lap cat and shut the rest of the world of Obama out. It's hard though when one remembers what a proud country we used to have compared to what we have now.

The liberals should be ashamed to call themselves Americans.

Maybe the hardest thing to do is to juggle the offensive line like GB has had to, but last night Dietrich Smith the replacement center and the new guy Barclay on the right tackle really held their own.
Looks like blue skies for the Pack at the right time.

All these harebrained ideas only end up giving a valid argument to their critics- no matter they do the same thing.

We say we want a smaller more effective government yet ignore them when they push either idiotic or pork laden bills which do nothing but construct even higher barriers to maintaining an effective society with these type of useless nuisance laws.
Law that will probably will be found in conflict with the article concerning freedom of speech.
(for however much longer that law remains in effect.)

I wonder if she has ever read the document?

Here's a thought, how about offering a bill for the immediate dismissal of any politician who authors a bill that is later found to be unconstitutional?

Here sweeten the deal further and prosecute them both legally and civilly for damages proved- including forfeiture of their assets and pension?

I think she was one of those mensa's that voted for Obama in 2008 because she "couldn't vote for an idiot like Sarah Palin"..

"Formerly Proud", there is a lot of history that goes back a ways.

Blue is another one of those lightweights that breezes in once a year to share her grace- of course Rick started stalking her so she got uncomfortable, Cj is another one that for some reason thought she could shove me around because I represent something she doesn't like- Rick wants to stalk her as well but she won't let him I guess.

It pretty much boils down to Rick is a delusional stalker.
Just ask Stevie Nicks.

There are a lot of these types in the local blogosphere's past.
Bodo would be another example, socially awkward Miata driving faux elitism just doesn't wear well in normal society so normal people generally laugh at his type- maybe you saw the thoughtful pose he struck in the photo with the Speedo?

Now Rick is somewhat threatening me... what should I do?- Obama promises to return our calls within 15 min. maybe I should give him a call..

Rick suffers with delusions as you might have noticed, now he believes he has some information about me that might be useful, maybe like taking an Indian's picture he thinks the picture holds the soul- he really has these CIA inspired delusions that the information he thinks he has holds power..
what a joke- he would be the last to know anything of importance.

Repeating delusions that I'm delusional to yourself won't make it true. They're gonna lock you people up if you keep bothering me. Remember who is President.

I have experience in journalism and political science and I predict plausible trends and I'm done helping you rich people. I'm more apt to help Islam and the Commies than help you people.

There's a rumor they are going to do away with the Presidential term limits. The wealthy class and Obama deserve one another.

If you think that I'm dangerous, call a cop, but don't be surprised if they think you're a nut.

BOULDER, Colo. -- Several hundred people turned out for a vigil in Boulder for an elk killed by a police officer.

Those honoring the animal on Sunday lit candles, sang and told stories.

The elk that had wandered the neighborhood was fatally shot by an on-duty Boulder police officer, who has been placed on leave. An off-duty officer suspected of helping by loading the carcass into a pickup is also on leave.

.."The Boulder Daily Camera
( http://tinyurl.com/a8hucx6) reported that organizers wanted to give people an opportunity to grieve, celebrate and find closure.

Yes there are complete herds of these jackwads out there, now the question is - how will the loonies in the great unicorn preserve on the west coast top this?

I am only surprised that the double tapered one didn't show up for a fundraiser.

Proud, to answer your question, Blue is a security guard at a grocery store. She recently bought a three thousand dollar dog and imported it from Africa. She's got a good credit rating and she will always be an honest citizen and work very hard to catch bad guys.

The laws for people like Blue are becoming tougher. Poor bad guys ...

"Hi, I'm store security," Blue begins clasping her hands together at her waist to appear harmless and she's smiling. "I really need to apologize and it's silly store policy, but the cameras saw you stealing food - not that you don't have a right to steal from us - I didn't say that! But if you don't put it back, I'm going to have to ask you to let me arrest you. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Blue's job is difficult.

midnightsstaff said...

.."Blue's job is difficult"

..to some any job is too difficult to have..

how do you know if she has a good credit rating or how much she paid for a dog?

stalking again?- I mean some more?- must be that asparagus syndrome you have.

Put Me In Charge...
as appeared in a Waco newspaper, written by a 21 year old that seems to have more sense than the illegitimate holder of the office of the presidency...

.."Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I’d do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good..”

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job"
*************

Ya see folks, there are good responsible ideas out there... but in the real world the Ricks standing there with their hand out just will not be reasonable..
So what happens to unreasonable children?- they are either corrected from their bad behavior or suffer the effects of their own choices in the real world.

The current situation is simply unsustainable therefor will not be sustained indefinitely.

Middy, I've been saying for years that anyone on the government dole shouldn't be allowed to vote. I also think that people should take a test on government and civics.

Those two things would eliminate all the liberal voters.

midnightsstaff said...

Hahaha... yeah, that conspiracy to conceal a truth you refer to is called ignorance pal, there's a lot of it going around...

courageously asked the government?
is that what they call milking the system now?
Like changing the terminology gives you cover.. calling it "benefits" instead of "hand outs" or "entitlements" instead of "outright theft".

Looks like you are trying to wrap up in another layer of Missourimoonbat zen on us again Rick.
Lol.. you ain't got anything I haven't already seen- prisons are just full of nuts and criminals..

Middy,

I remember that episode quite well. I never missed Seinfeld, one of the best ever sitcoms.

Too bad Jerry is an Obamamaton but who in Hollywood isn't other than John Lovitz and Jon Voight?

midnightsstaff said...

Yeah... it's all fantasy.

uh.. Clint Eastwood, Tom Selleck, yeah you are right.. very few.

I like to go to the utube clips of these shows, it's amazing what you can find out there.

There might be a real miracle in the works with the Coyotes it looks like, that Jameson guy seems to be actively trying to own the team.
..hold on to your hat we might have a partial season at least left yet..

The one where he tells George Steinbrenner off and gets hired is another classic Costanza moment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiwtXHPwGPE

The Costanza family was a page right out of Archie Bunker's neighborhood..
the two of them stubborn, high strung, embarrassing the hell out of George, always on the edge of losing it over nothing at all..
comfortably neurotic.

What the hell are you talking about there, Middy? Shove you around? Do you actually think you knocked me out or something? You are taking way too much medication of some kind, old man. The honest to god truth is that listening to you drone on & on about your loss in the last election has become nothing more than dead weight.

Middy,

Seinfeld was one show I never missed.

Jerry Stiller and Estelle Harris were really funny as George's parents.

Remember when she finds George's pack of rubbers on her bed and says she can't sleep in that bed anymore.

Then there is the one where George tells Jerry he masturbated while looking at the photos in "Glamour" magazine. Jerry says, "Glamour!?"

Let's not forget the "shrinkage factor" episode when they go swimming and the episode where George gets a massage from a guy and was worried because "It moved."

All great shows but alas, they ran out of gas during the last two years. They should have stopped at 6 years while they were still on top.

Regardless, every time I see potpourri or paella I think of Jerry Stiller and Estelle Harris.

Jim McAllister said...

Hi CJ,

I see you and Middy are still at loggerheads. Does that mean you didn't send him a Christmas card this year?

Jim McAllister said...

haha... yeah .."You people nearly drove me to suicide and had I not gone to the shrink, I would have ate 25 morphine. You people tried to kill me, the shrink said. He added that rich people like to kill people for fun"

how about a time line on this turn of events?- I don't know about going to the shrink myself, but then I'm not nuts..
were you there because of the voices or because some of us in the reality side of the discussion just pushed you over the edge.
Confuscious say.. man on morphine no need gun.
or is that the government?
aaahhh the voices.

Keep on following your heart Rick, but of course you have to because your mind left you alone and in the dark years ago.

Gary Burdette, Vice President of Operations for the local franchise, says the cuts are coming because the new Affordable Health Care Act requires employers to offer health insurance to employees working 32-38 hours a week. Under the current law they are not considered full time and that as a small business owner, he can't afford to stay in operation and pay for everyone's health insurance"

But enough about the lunitic of the Ozarks.. it looks like the pattern of lies by the Evil One is finally starting to sink in the brainless cavity of the average communist sympathizer and low information drones out there- already they don't like the tax withholdings that were promised not to happen to them happening to them.

yep.. and now a forty hour work week is becoming a memory- of course by summer even those part time jobs will probably be a memory as well..

elections have consequences..

So...

haha..

That election probably will impact your life a whole lot more than it does my life sweetie.. enjoy the ride.

I have been feeling lately that something horrible is coming and that the government will likely allow it to occur, so the media can talk it up and Americans demand more control over their own lives.

I predicted this years ago and remember what I said that we'd know; whomever wins the 2012 election is ... the unspeakable.

Is the government activating Cold War assets from experimental programs? Is it true that they are suiciding the old experiments? I don't believe the military did anything like that.

I joined the Army after my parents died, because Stevie didn't care anymore. She was married to that guy briefly. The Army cared. They helped me, but they never gave me medication and encouraged me to be myself. Gifted.

And now, nobody bothers me. But I only listen to a few people. You have no idea how cruel civilized people can be in killing people like me.

Fortunately, the Army fixed me. So did Stevie. And I'm sorry that Syria didn't fall before November then Hillary could have gotten the credit. I like the Clintons and I like George W. Bush too; he's nice.

Guns kill people...

.."According to a court document, police responded to reports of a vehicle in flames at an apartment complex where Potter lived. Witnesses said they saw Potter leaving the vehicle just before it was on fire.

Two apartment units were also on fire. Police officers said they saw Potter throw two objects —later determined to be human arms — at the witnesses.

Police discovered a dismembered body in one of the burning apartments. It had knife wounds in the face and sternum and both arms were severed. There was blood evidence in both apartments and several knives in and outside Potter’s apartment"

The type of guns he used to hack off arms and stab the victim in the face to death has not been determined as of yet but you can bet it was an evil high magazine assault rifle- probably with a bayonet attachment .

Middy,

I did a blog on azcvoices last night using those same quotes you did about the payroll deductions. I got that info from Joseph Curl's column in the Washington Times.

I like his comment about all the current bitchers and that on the 15th the rest of them will find out too.

The sht is appearing to hit the fan already. I hope these suckers who voted for Obama are finally realizing that everything costs something and sooner or later it hurts everyone, not just the rich who they despise so much.

The rich will get by because they are smart. That's how they got rich: They come up with ideas like dropping the hours of employees to beat Obamacare. I see nothing cruel about it.

Obama is the one who is changing the system that seemed to work OK before he came along with his inflated ego.

It should be really interesting when that $63 per head buried hidden charge on O-care kicks in.

That is to cover the uninsurable people. Stay tuned for the reaction on that!

Meanwhile, Biden is trying to figure out a way to take our guns. Good luck with that, Joe.

Jim McAllister said...

Love the FDR accent on "Fore Moar Yeeears."

It looks like O's little paper kingdom is receiving some flack. HMMMMM.....Why would anyone care if he takes a $20 million two week vacation when they are now getting another $1,635 taken from their checks for the year?

Notice to Obamatons: money does not grow on trees. How do you feel about spreading the wealth now? Are you serious? You really thought it was only the rich who would get fleeced? LOL

Remember the old saying: "If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

Jim McAllister said...

11,000 teachers let go? Hmmmmm, I wonder what the union response is to that.

I remember the quote from the president of the teacher's union some years ago in Washington.

He said basically that he didn't care about kids unless they grew up to be teachers who joined his union.

Now, there is a man with a pure heart of gold!

Mental workers... It looks like reality was apparent a long time ago, I give a streetwalker more respect than the average public school teacher today.

when is the last time you heard anything approaching Reason coming out of the mouth of a public school teacher..

I got a real horselaugh at that Ugenti article... seems I am not the only one that sees through the local GOP smokescreen.

.."The Army cared. They helped me, but they never gave me medication and encouraged me to be myself. Gifted.

Hey rIcK.. Algore sold that channel you have been getting your information from to a group of goat screwing muslims.. seems like the arabic subtitles should have tipped you off.. on the other hand your goat business could be taking a windfall profitability upturn soon.

Just switch from the milk goats to "sporting goats"- be sure to shave their legs so they can tell them from their wives and kids... that's where your bread is buttered.

On the other hand today I finally found out the one person in the world that the US Army cared for, it also sounds like they gave you that screwing that Stevie somehow avoided.

congratulations to SN..
