GOVERNOR BREWER MAKES CORRECT DECISION ON DEFERRED ACTION

It doesn’t take much common sense to see what Obama was up to with his “deferred action” executive order allowing children of illegal immigrants to come out of hiding and stay two years in the U. S. while hopefully working.  It was strictly a political move to grab votes in November since he sees cracks in his veneer being exploited.  Why else would he go after the Hispanic vote?  His record of deportations shows he didn’t care that much about them before.

Now we have 80,000 illegal young immigrants crawling out of their holes in Arizona wanting everything legal citizens get just because Obama is in a bind.  The sobbing sentimentalists continue to sing the same sad song that “they were brought here illegally through no fault of their own.”  That’s true, but whoever said that life is fair?  Their parents should have thought of that instead of selfishly putting their own interests ahead of their kids.

The parents broke the laws of the United States of America by coming here illegally.  That illegality has cost American taxpayers millions in welfare expenses.   Now, we are supposed to accept their kids in addition to that?  There is a limit to the patience Americans can bear.

Keep it peaceful, Sheriff Joe is watching.
So, in typical fashion, the protesters have once again taken to the streets of Phoenix complaining about Governor Brewer’s not allowing them to get drivers licenses and the inability of them to get in-state tuition to go to school.  Don’t they know that illegals can’t get driver’s licenses?   That is pretty elementary information.  Just reference the brouhaha over SB 1070 for details.  Regardless of what Obama says, they are still considered illegal.

As far as in-state tuition, it’s the same story as they are lucky to even get the $317 per credit hour nonresident fee.  If an American citizen from Utah, New Mexico, or any other state comes here for school, they pay out of state fees.  So, why should illegals get the in-state fee of $76?

One 21 year old illegal female said “It’s really, really disappointing to not be able to get a driver’s license.”  A 24 year old male exclaimed   “She (Governor Brewer) shattered my dreams today.”   I have a suggestion for both of them:  Quit whining and be glad you got what you did.

I don’t know who is advising these people telling them that they can just walk into the United States and get handed all the luxuries of taxpaying citizens.  They are lucky we have a president who would not even have given them that if not for his hope of political gain.  Yadira Garcia, who is illegal, seems to “get it” when she said “It’s a reality check for everyone who thinks deferred action is the best thing out there.”

In addition to the items mentioned above, other public benefits are also not available such as subsidized child care, unemployment benefits, KidsKare, and a children’s health insurance program.   To those who think that is a bad deal, pay attention.  Spell this word: I-L-L-E-G-A-L.  Sorry, but that’s life.

One thing that will not help the members of the deferred action group is any type of violent protest imvolving  burning and/or defecating on the American flag.  They are getting one hell of a benefit just being able to walk the streets without fear of being arrested.  If they are smart, they will be industrious and make the best of what they have and hope for better in the future.  If not, there are plenty of immigrants waiting at the border to get their opportunity to become citizens the correct way.

Yes, I thought Brewer did the right thing, too. I do have some compassion for these kids, but - we HAVE to draw the line somewhere. It's the whole (VERY non-politically correct metaphor; sorry, Allah) of letting one camel hoof in the tent door: what follows? My lfe, your life, all of our natural-born citizen lives are hard enough without footing the bill for people who came here illegally because it was a bummer to live in their own country. If these kids want to blame anyone for thier frustration, blame YOUR PARENTS and their desire to circumvent the law because it wasn't easy enough to do it the legal way.

My only concession to becoming an American citizen for these types of kids is if they serve honorably for a full term in the military.

Jim McAllister said...

Glo,

You and I agree.

When the Dream Act was starting to be pushed a few years ago, I mentioned in an AZCentral blog that the only way I would even consider giving these kids a "pathway to citizenship" is if they did a full 4 year hitch in the military. It would have gotten them work experience and many probably would have reenlisted which would give them jobs.

What a crock the two year hitch would have been. Once again, it was special treatment for them for whatever reason.

It's the same with the two years of college they mentioned at that time. Two years? How about a minimum of a BS or BA?

Wimp Montini must have been involved in those negotiations.

By the way, I love the "one camel hoof in the tent door" analogy. LOL

Two things: I don't believe they are in fact "illegal immigrants." I believe they are in fact, refugees. Consider that both Republicans and Democrats allow them to say. The conservative think tank, Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), said during the Bush Administration that if immigration laws were enforced, it would collapse the American economy. Also, ICE is only sending back the immigrants if they have a criminal record, which is ironic since they are in America ILLEGALLY. DHS called immigration, a Civil Matter and not a criminal matter.

The second thing is the U.S./Mexican border. Don't you find it odd that there are foreigners pouring over our border and the United States Government doesn't seem to care? Yet they deny we are moving toward a North American Union, similar to the European Union. And yet, the borders seem open in most places to illegal intrusion.

Finally, has no one even bothered to read the reports that I keep tossing on this blog and the previous one? I was at least three years ahead of the NRA and I even warned them that the UN was creating a small arms disarmament treaty and Mexico is on the list. At the time, the NRA said they never heard of it. Now, the NRA says it's a back door attempt at confiscating arms from American citizens.

“The program is open to immigrants ages 15 to 31 who came to the country before they were 16 and have lived here continuously for at least the past five years. Among other restrictions, they must be free of serious criminal convictions, be enrolled in or have completed high school, or have served in the U.S. military. On Tuesday, officials confirmed that those enrolled in GED programs and certain training programs will also qualify, broadening the program’s potential reach.” - Ezra Klein, Washington Post.

The fact is that the feds are only keeping the best of the best of the illegals.

But look at this fake fight over Social Security and Medicare that the Democrats and Republicans wage and we are just so entertained. The GOP is made the bad guy and the Democrats are the good cop. They both borrow from Social Security like their mother's purse promising to put the money back, but they never do. But we still give the rascals a cookie, don't we?

Mike slater said...

I applaud Brewer for taking a stand. It's more that the feds are doing. The whole illegal problem can be laid at the feet of the federal government. Past presidents and congresses have turned a blind eye to the problem for years.

Republicans want the cheap labor and the Democrats want to make them citizens and get their votes.

Let's no forget the federal courts that have ruled we must educate illegal children plus provide free medical care to illegals.

The powers that be won't be happy until this country becomes another third world nation like one ones the illegals came from.

Gentlemen and ladies. It has come to my attention that an ex-Marine on Facebook was taken into custody, but not arrested, and put into a mental hospital for writing anti-government, extreme Christian rhetoric. It was lame compared to the crap that I write, but I add that we can't do a thing about what is happening.

Dude, long since there has been a behavioral psychologist as a Facebook friend. Nay, I am sorry. TWO of them. One from a university and one from DoD. There is CIA, Army and others who are my friends.

So always remember to add this phrase; there isn't anything we can do about it anyway. And maybe they won't take everything you have and lock you up for antigovernment stuff. They'd love to nail someone in Arizona. Or Missouri.

Precrime has begun.

CJ Phoenix said...

As usually, I can see both sides of this issue. The idealistic side of me sees that this punishment of people who were brought here as children, NOT of their own volition -- and, yeah, the ostracism of people you all propose is distinctly, decidedly punishment -- goes beyond unfair. It is WRONG. On the other hand, the more practical side of me can see problems that are caused by the swarms of illegal immigrants that have been coming into this country virtually unchecked for a very long time.

The "dreamers" do not just get all the advantages available to American people & students, they are given unfair advantages in many instances. There are whole groups of sympathetic people willing to help dream act people: financially, legally, medically ... Then there is always that bilingual preference that I keep seeing. Yeah, that whole *business is all about profit* has a real downside for people who are looking for work in this job market without a bilingual skills.

We are talking about Dream Act kids & young adults now, right? So I won't even go into the criminal the element. Because, truth be told, that isn't the fault of the dreamers either. The responsibility for that belongs to the criminals themselves as well as US. Yep, US because of that stupid open border that nobody has ever put much effort into securing at all. Gawd, if all of our political posers would just put as much effort into border security as they put into pandering & going to court over this issue, we would all be a lot better off.

One last thing: teach the dreamers to drive already! I got into a fender bender just the other day &, although I am not 100% positive that the other driver was a dreamer, she certainly fits many of the criteria. Yep, NO DRIVER LICENSE, plus, drives like crap. But she did have a vehicle registered to her in this state plus third party insurance ... I still feel incredibly lucky that she stayed at the scene of the accident because she was completely at fault. Had she been a straight up illegal immigrant, she would have probably run. BUT who on earth thinks it is okay to pass another car on the left (driver side) while it is in the process of a left hand turn? Actually, I am not even sure that driver's ed can help with that. That is just plain old common sense & mechanics.

President Obama good. Mitt Romney good. (waving little flag)

midnightsstaff said...

I totally agree with everything the hot chick said.. well put Cj..

We do have serious problems with non serious problem solver's busily attacking one another and never getting any solutions to our systemic problems..
In fact, most of the more serious of them never actually get addressed in a meaningful way.

Mitt Romney for instance is going to be just as in the pocket of Goldman Sachs as the current administration is - that is just the way things work, we can bitch and moan over idealistic non starter solutions but frankly without a permanent, benevolent Imperial presidency they remain just dreams..

Illegal's are human beings and of course as human beings should be treated with the same respect all humans should be.
But as you so eloquently stated... that doesn't mean they should be allowed to flaunt our immigration laws either..

Within the penumbra of Natural Law rights we have basic property rights as well.
And as citizens of a sovereign state within our sovereign state our rights including our property rights come before the rights of illegal's.
... if we were invading their country our rights would and should be treated as inferior to the rights of the Mexican people and their property in their own sovereign nation.

...going to be a tough call.

Rick Kepple said...

Middy's right. The hot chick has a point. I haven't had my coffee yet, so my mind is still trying to figure out why it's bad to pass another car on the left while turning left, but perhaps she left out something like another car on the left of her.

I forget you folks have more than one or two lanes of traffic, so there must have been another dozen lanes of traffic to her left.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

ICE is only sending back the immigrants if they have a criminal record, which is ironic since they are in America ILLEGALLY.

Good point, they are all criminals since they broke the law just by coming here.

Maybe we should dump a bunch of our bad guys across THEIR border in exchange for their people.

You're right about Social Security; it has been robbed for years by thieving politicians. We know it is happening, we bitch about it, but it keeps happening. It makes me wonder why we even bother with elections; they are ALL crooks starting right at the top.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

Correct on all points. Kudos to Brewer for standing up to this nonsense.

The thing that really gets me is these damn kids are so hostile as though we owe them something. They are illegal criminals and if not for Obama would still be hiding in their rat holes. All of a sudden they emerge with their damn PA systems and banners bitching and moaning because they can't get a driver's license. Even if they had one, they probably wouldn't have insurance anyway.

So far I haven't heard any of them say "Thank you AZ for letting me go to your schools and get free medical service at your taxpayers expense."

They ought to be bitching to their parents who are the real cause of their problems. If they get too extreme they better look out for Sheriff Joe.

I put a lot of this on Obama who thinks we should apologize to everyone and forget American exceptionalism, change the anthem to that stupid ass Coke ad from years ago, and bow down to leaders of other countries like he and his wife do. Speaking of his wife, she needs to learn that the American flag is not a "damn flag." It's taken good care of her ass.

Jim McAllister said...

CJ,

Something in the universe must be askew; Middy agrees with you. LOL

That's true about the border and that is Washington's fault. It is getting worse too as they are removing agents down there.

I wonder if we could get someone like Putin to come over here and clean up this mess. With Obama running things it will never improve. Putin is a hard ass who could train our guys some methods to make illegals wish they never heard of us.

Can you imagine illegal immigrants trying to sneak into Russia? They are hard asses over there. During WWII the Pope made demands to them and when Stalin heard them he said, "....And how many divisions does the Pope have?"

midnightsstaff said...

Any illegal now caught for any reason is going to state they were brought here after they were three years old and the arresting authority will simply have to let them go now that Obama has said anyone in the world can vote in our elections.

also those who could not legally apply for employment can and will take the already scarce jobs from true American citizens...

Obama should be arrested by congress but have you heard anyone at all even talking about this?
this alone might give Obama the election- think about it, with motor voter and month long elections, I can't see any congressman letting this stand, but no one is even talking.

CJ Phoenix said...

Yeah, I noticed that too, Jim. All I can think is that either this is it -- the beginning of the end of life as we know it -- or else he is just messing with me. I cannot do anything about either condition, tho, so I believe it is best not to worry my pretty little head & incredibly hot body about it.

"...my mind is still trying to figure out why it's bad to pass another car on the left while turning left..." I cannot really draw you a diagram here now complete with intersecting lines. The best I can do is try to get you to visualize what happened with words so here goes:

Imagine CAR A -- that's my car -- preparing then starting to make a left turn. Imagine the path CAR A would make. Then imagine CAR B -- containing a driver with absolutely no clue about principles of basic mechanics or driver license -- approaching CAR A from behind, ignoring all signs from CAR A indicating the path it is planning to take (like a blinking turn signal), accelerating & attempting to pass CAR A on the left/driver side. Imagine the path of CAR B now. Can you see where the paths might cross? HINT: the paths formed an X on my front quarter panel & bumper.

Cj, Pretty little head and incredibly hot body? OK, whatever floats your boat.

My first experience with an illegal driver was back in 1972. A guy turned left right in front of me and I plowed into him. He had no drivers license or insurance. My insurance company paid to fix my car. I don't know what happened to him.

Jim, remember when Obama was nominated and his loser wife said it was the first time in her adult life she was proud to be an American? The Obama's have never been proud of this country and I can't until this blight is removed.

midnightsstaff said...

Well glad that you were not hurt in the accident... of course you realize that in today's world there are no such things such as accidents, merely incidents with varying degrees of operator error.

I am sure by now you realize you made some decisions that possibly led to this unfortunate incident, maybe more than you realize.
.. for instance...

Did you check your rear view mirror before attempting this maneuver?

I realize the dept. of justice says it's nothing less than an outright act of bigotry to look, but realizing Eric doesn't live in Phoenix nor have to drive with them.

You should have as an experienced bumper car motorist been aware that the victim of this incident in car "B" might have had some indicators of bizarre intentions or at least a high degree of probability that you as a savy local have the responsibility to recognize.

...was there a mexican flag anywhere you could see or those little beaner balls hanging from a rear view mirror?

...was one of the two tones of her auto primer grey?

.. could you hear the music from fifty feet behind you before making that attempt to turn left?- after all they drum it into us in drivers ed. that three rights make one left...
..you had options but might have felt a bit reckless.

..could you see the heads of small children jumping all over the back seat?- I have noticed that in Arizona no seat belts are necessary for some, I suppose LE has decided if you can't even respect the most basic of laws why waste time setting up a court date no one will show up for anyway.

I am of the opinion you got off lucky.

Having driven in mixed company for years and as an astute driver and one that demands constant diligence to ever changing road conditions I have certainly learned to be aware of my surroundings...
..you never see me in the left hand lane of a four lane highway unless I am passing an obvious white bread local with no foreign Minnesota license plates, in other words someone not here just for the weather.

..there is a difference between the average snowbird and the former citizens of Oxaca or other municipios- those from the south are ignorant of our laws, those from the north tend to forget where they are going or what they are going for..

..think don williams...

But my point of concern to begin with is ..did you get her name? because I am still looking for Lupe, she hasn't shown up for over a week now and frankly I'm worried-
Jim says he has no idea her whereabouts, this is not just about the pay advance I gave her but from a sense of concern I have for her as a human being.

was your victim's name Lupe?

midnightsstaff said...

Whoa.. someone is hacking my account again... who is writing this drivel and putting my name on it?

Commifornia is having a bit of bad luck, I was talking to one of my homies still in prison and he told me that ISP had no electricity from last Sunday to last Wednesday...
..try to imagine having two hundred level three and level four inmates locked up with no air, no fans, having to bring it to them (chow, medical, everything else they get) in a hundred plus with this type of humidity for three days running.. and to deal with the medical emergencies...
and this is just the ides of August.

..guess that new multi million dollar solar project they just completed a couple of years ago right next to the facility is not working as well as they expected..

The PTB behind the fruit curtain has decided the best thing to do is ignore it, I can't find any reference anywhere in the news of a power problem- it's as tho it never happened.

Sgt. Schultz's wise counsel has once again been validated.

"Cj, Pretty little head and incredibly hot body? OK, whatever floats your boat." Ummm, Mike, according to Rick & Middy lately, it's not my boat I am floating. It's more like I am the flame coming out of their rocket ship giving it the power to lift off. In fact, I am such a smokin' hot chick that I am surprised nobody has mistaken me for an old Ford.

No, Middy, I just used my blinker to signal my intentions and slowed a little in order to turn safely. I never expected the broad behind me to do something so stupid. BTW, it is not like we were on a main thoroughfare with multiple lanes. We were on a side street: just wide enough for two lanes of traffic, one heading east & one heading west, so if there had been any other traffic coming from the other direction, she may have collided with them too.

The other driver was the one not paying attention judging from what she told the cop: she actually said I was parked along the curb & pulled into her truck. What that means (if it wasn't just a lie, that is) is that she probably wasn't paying attention as she came up behind me: she could have been on her phone, for instance, or doing something else...Kinda hard for me to tell because she didn't speak enough English to talk to me. BUT SHE GOT TWO TICKETS -- one for driving without a license & another for failure to control the vehicle -- so what does that tell you? It wasn't my fault.

I understand now how that Latino caused the accident, CJ. You were turning left and turned into the car passing you on the left. But shouldn't you have been in the left lane to turn? Or was the other driver on the sidewalk? And have you ever seen how those folks drive in Mexico?

That's the problem I have with illegals and these lily livered liberals who feel sorry for them. They cause crime, increase out taxes to take care of them and for what? They get to be in the US but what about American citizens? We have to foot their bills.

They need to have a revolution in Mexico and take their damn government back. That's what we did in the 18th century and may have to do again at the rate Obama is taking full power with his martial law edict and executive orders.

Jim, that's the "Lake of the Ozarks," which is just HUGE and really meant for those HUGE cigar boats, Bayliners, pontoon boats and houseboats. The Lake is always full. It's almost all private shore. If I go there, it's usually to fish below Bagnell Dam.

No, the places where I go, you couldn't get a Bayliner into. Kayaks, canoes and rafts. Better fishing. Relatively unpolluted.

Rick Kepple said...

"When your insurance company fixed your car your rates probably went up too."

The private insurance industry exists to provide insurance to people as long as they don't have accidents, get sick or die too young, lest they drop you. It's silly since they have experts who calculate risks and yet, they haven't figured out that insurance actually means insuring people. Duh. These days, paying an insurance company is a little like prepaying someone on a layaway program to build a house for you and when you actually want the house built, they drop you and there's not a damned thing you can do about it.

I remember when my wife died, my car insurance rates went up, because I removed a driver from the policy and was penalized for it. I dropped them, they penalized me even more fees. When I refused to pay them, they added on yet more fees! Finally, I wrote to the Missouri Department of Insurance who informed the insurance company in legalspeak that my wife died. They dropped the fees and that's when I realized the economy was going to tank - the fees penalizing people for bad things happening to them. Only people going broke would be so desperate as to penalize the widowed as well as people with bad credit on the premise they make more mistakes.

WHY IN HELL DID NONE OF THEM ATTEMPT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FEDERAL LAWS WHICH PERMIT THEM TO APPLY FOR CITIZENSHIP AT THEIR 18TH BIRTHDAY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I forget the wording (I last looked it up about 1 1/2 years back) OR...the alternative to maintaining their ILLEGALITY...both male and female......why did none of them apply for entry to our military? I am convinced that their "failure" only secondarily (at best) was based on fear.....after all, look at all the American flags they walked on, and demonstrations they attended.

THESE FAILURES TELL ME THAT THEY WERE LESS INTERESTED IN BECOMING CITIZENS THAN IN SIMPLY CONTINUING TO MILK THE PUBLIC.

actually everyone should listen to his show every day- he is after all "the great one"

You are right, there will be a full on assault by the media led by those fools at the Arizona Repugnant over her bold stance against tyranny...

I'm not a big fan of her myself but she deserves our full support whether you like her approach to governing or not.

..we have one choice to make, either Liberty or Tyranny.. there will be no second chance because if the monster wins, there will never again be a free election in this country.

Once he clears his opposition those FEMA camps will be used for their intended purpose after the citizens turned in their guns, it will be just like what happened in Cuba in the late fifties.

I stand with Governor Brewer as well. I admire her fortitude in the face of an administration that does not value the rights of U.S. Citizens. I have no issue with immigrants. I have no issue with Mexican citizens wanting to come here to work in order to better their lives. I have a huge issue with non-citizens (i.e., illegal aliens) getting benefits and services they are not entitled to. In fact, the so-called "dreamers" often get benefits that trump those of an U.S. Citizen. My sister's kids could not get in-state tuition where they were living because her husband was in the U.S. military and they weren't residents of the state where he was assigned. And they couldn't get in-state tuition in the state where they were "legally residents" because they didn't physically live there. Yet, a "dreamer" (i.e., illegal alien) could be in that same state ILLEGALLY and get in-state tuition, a driver's license, medical care?

Obama is all about fairness - when it involves his voter base or campaign pockets.

Middy,

I thought Jackie Gleason was "The Great One." Maybe that was only in the 50s.

I love Jan Brewer. She was cruising along being a pencil pusher as Secretary of State until Big Sis resigned to join the Washington crooks.

All of a sudden she is handed the SB 1070 mess and now the amnesty crap. I admire her for sticking to her guns and would love to put a full sized portrait of her on my wall where she was sticking her finger in Obama's face on the tarmac. She gave that egotistical jerk a lesson in humility that day.

I hope she sticks to her guns on this. It's hard to believe how many suckers think the amnesty is a wonderful thing when it so obvious that it is just a political ploy.

Never underestimate the stupidity of liberals.

Jim McAllister said...

Stealth,

It seems like the term "common sense" always disappears when politics are involved; especially when the Washington imposter is involved.

As far as the in state tuition, the last I heard they don't have it yet or the driver's licenses. Brewer said no to both but our good friends at the ACLU are working hard to reverse that.

If Jan is overruled and illegals get in state tuition, that means that someone who is in our country illegally can pay $76 per credit hour for school while an American citizen from another state would have to pay $317. It's very depressing if that happens and I blame it all on that phony in the White House who never ends his political ambitions and class warfare.

It's the same with driver's licenses. The whiners are saying "Well, now that they are free, they need transportation to get to work." What work?

It's the same old story: give them an inch and they will want a mile. I guess Obama will take citizen's cars away from them next and hand them to illegals so they can get to work.

It's a sickening situation and I have to pinch myself periodically to realize that this is really happening in the United States.

It's imperative that we elect Romney in November.

Just keep that in mind, Middy. When you call someone to support Mitt Romney, don't call the voter names. You either Jim. Be nice to people. Tell them Romney's positive points. Make something up.

They are hunting rifles, not assault weapons. You're simply a bad shot, so you need a semi-automatic and since the AR-15 is what you used in the military, you use what you know. Simple. I'm all thumbs with a bolt action or lever action. I'm a lazy American.

You're camping. It's not a training maneuvers. You got cousin Jim, cousin Middy, cousin CJ, etc. No bobbing for apples, but obstacle courses. Shoot at silohettes of bunny rabbits for target practice. Mike, I am actually not that particular about the make of my future truck -- just an old stepside -- but the Ford you described sounds cool. I would love a Studebaker too because my grandpa had one of those. Both are probably just a dream though: I would need enough disposable income to keep them up because, as I learned with my old bug, they eventually fall apart.

My bug is in a better place now: I drove it for about 20 years & it was the most dependable car I ever drove mechanically, but I finally found an old couple that had another one like it with a better body & interior & just needed mine for the engine & guts.

I am completely on the side of the man who wants to keep his wife buried in the yard myself. Yeah, it would kinda creep me out for a bit if he lived next door to me but I would get over it eventually. Principles are principles. Besides, I recently honored my dad's last wish by putting his ashes somewhere that most people would not find acceptable (I did talk him out of the canal running behind my house though ... He grew up here in this house so he loved playing in that canal back before it became so nasty). Both of my dads, actually, although I was not the one that made the decision in my stepdad's case.

Did you know that you are not even supposed to bury your pets in the yard? Yeah, call me a criminal, but I even have a little homemade headstone for my male German Shepherd.

I was a car guy so my truck knowledge is limited.

.."Around 1000 people per day are still losing their jobs in Greece with the percentage of the population not working now uncomfortably larger than those who are employed. This is creating drastic - or perhaps more aptly philosophical - reflections by its people. As the BBC reports, the feeling in Greece is that a "whole generation is on hold" and there is a growing trend towards the creation self-sustaining eco-communities - free of the ties of money and modern civilization. "What others saw as a global economic crisis, [Greeks] saw as a crisis of civilization" and so they are trying something different, growing their own food, bartering with one another, and exchanging surpluses with other villages. The community calls itself "Free and Real" - an acronym for Freedom of Resources for Everyone, Respect, Equality, Awareness and Learning - and it is growing as a stunning 76% of Greeks would like to emigrate. The positivist angle notes that the Greek crisis is not all bad as it shows the lives we are leading are not working and Greeks can "begin to look for alternatives." Everyone is stressed; but "Being able to work is a basic human right in a civilized society, if the government won't provide us with it then we will have to fight for it."

We will have to face something similar because there is no way this society's economy can be saved as it exists..

Jim, I've always been a pickup kinda guy because of all the hunting I do. Almost all have been 4X4's because of the places we go.

When does Arizona's dove season start? If CJ wants to go, maybe we can shoot some white winged doves and mourning doves. They mate for life. Those poor men doves. It's our duty to put them out of their misery.

Jim, we have the same in Sun City. lots of quail, doves and rabbits. Every time I look out the back window I get hungry.

Dove season starts September the 1st and Quail season is in October until February..

CJ Phoenix said...

Hey, there is no shooting supper in the city! We don't care if you're starving & too old to hire for a company job, you need to go to the store & buy processed crap like everybody else.

I don't actually know when any hunting seasons are anymore & there are probably suburbs full of crackerjack houses sitting atop all the spots in the desert where I learned how to shoot now too. If it really mattered, tho, I could always ask my son because he is into all that stuff. He even knows which parts of which cacti are edible. A real Euell Gibbons, he is, & just a bit embarrassing at times. Yeah, urban hikers give you real funny looks when you are tasting 'their' beautiful scenery.

Other than that, there are always plenty of pigeons in Encanto Park. You just have to be quick enough to catch them with your bare hands & share with some bums.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

We still have a ton of baby quail with the parent guardians walking around in back in the desert between us and the golf course.

At night they are like soldiers walking down the wall next to us to spend the night in a tree out front. If someone shot a shotgun into that tree when it got dark, he would probably get 25 quail.

I remember Dove season when we lived in north phoenix in the early 90s. Lots of open space and we could really hear the shotguns.

The rabbits are really thick here and it's funny to watch them when i play golf. They lay spread eagled on the grass on the tee trying to keep cool. A lot of them are so conditioned to people that they don't even move when I tee up my ball. I've seen a white one out there a couple times. I guess he was turned loose or escaped from someone.

Jim McAllister said...

CJ,

...there are always plenty of pigeons in Encanto Park. You just have to be quick enough to catch them with your bare hands & share with some bums.

LOL, That's funny. Some pigeons are bred for eating; they call them squabs but they are still pigeons to me.

In the 50s starlings were a big problem in downtown Cincinnati so the city started shooting them! Needless to say, that didn't last long.

Rick Kepple said...

I read that Tony Scott jumped off a bridge. Well, you know Hollywood. They're into trends and not be outdone, I'm sure there will be more celebrities jumping off bridges.

I remember when I met this movie director for a really successful film and I was on morphine and told him that I knew SN. He was at a friend's house and the guy knew my wife too. He said that SN wasn't worth a damn, but famous people are always right with rich investors, so that "old friend" and I aren't friends anymore. He got all fancy when he invested in that movie that I won't mention. So what did the director say? You can't possibly know SN! Not someone like YOU!

So if they want to jump off bridges, it's not really my problem. I'd call it Karma.

Todd Akin. Now do you see the Republicans that Missouri has to deal with?

A woman is not likely to get pregnant because of a legitimate rape, because her body will reject it, regarding abortion elimination.

Then there was Republican Rod Jetton who said, that he would like to "trade some of our people for some of the Mexicans who work so hard ... if we can find a way to trade them, I would trade them in a heartbeat." Jetton was Missouri House Speaker when he said that in 2008.

These guys represent the Republican Party's true feelings about Americans. At least they have the guts to speak the truth from the GOP point of view. Too bad Mitt Romney can't be that courageous, or he'd probably say that he's gonna trade millions of unemployed Americans for Chinese and Mexicans.

Rick Kepple said...

Well that was quick! Damned Internet.

I posted a couple of comments about Todd Akin and Rod Jetton being the Republican poster boys and the Springfield News-Leader already picked it up.

I can write a million lovely little posts and puppy dogs, kitty cats, SN and the electric guitar, but the moment I make a controversial comment, it's picked up by the media!

I wonder if I can turn this into a million dollar opportunity? I wonder if I could slip SN name in with Todd Akin? It would be fun.

Rick Kepple said...

C'mon Jim, I could use a pellet rifle to pick off a few quail. No one will miss a few quail. Rabbits are too wormy in Arizona. The dove would be tasty though. Or I could do it legally with a .410 shotgun. "Fore!" No, I've got the plug in! I can only get three!

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

Be careful around our quail. Remember, this is AZ so anyone can carry a gun right in the open. I saw some quail carrying the other day and there have been reports this year of quail firing on hunters. That includes those San Quentin Quail!

Rick Kepple said...

Dammit! Damn the government for giving quail concealed carry permits! Next it will be arming deer.

Mike slater said...

Jim, I get a copy of the Arizona Game and Fish hunting regulations every year which shows were one can hunt and where you can't. I have to stay current on that since it changes every year. I suspect where you live is off limits to hunting.

Back in the early 80's when we lived in New River I could go down the road about a half mile and hunt deer, pigs, quail and rabbits. Today all that area is off limits to hunting.

My son left today for an archery hunt for deer up on the Kaibab north of the Grand Canyon. He also has a buffalo tag. When he's done I suspect we will have lots of meat.

I'm going to you some e-mails of some of his hunts.

Rick Kepple said...

Hunting regulations are for sportsmen. If Jim is starving, Jim's got a perfect right to stick his shotgun out the back window to shoot himself some dinner! Mmmmm, fried quail, brown quail gravy over fresh baked bisquits and hot steaming black coffee while cleaning the gun on the table.

Jim, just because you're in Arizona, doesn't mean that you can't live like you're in Missouri. Heck, I shout now and then out the window, "Get off my lawn!" like I lived in Scottsdale.

Jim McAllister said...

It was exciting living there with the hunting and the balloons flying all over the place.

Now we have 80,000 illegal young immigrants crawling out of their holes in Arizona wanting everything legal citizens get...

Actually, the dream act subjects are not immigrants at all, illegal or otherwise. They were smuggled into this country. The term "immigration" implies a consensual action &, if they were minors when brought here, there was no consent. Their parents could have literally crawled out of a hole with them in tow though. There are tunnels all along the border.

Rick Kepple said...

"As far as in-state tuition ... $317 per credit hour nonresident fee. If ... any other state [citizen] comes here for school, they pay out of state fees. So, why should illegals get the in-state fee of $76?"

Okay, so are the illegal immigrants paying $317 a credit hour or $76 a credit hour? I'm confused.

Rick Kepple said...

"The term "immigration" implies a consensual action &, if they were minors when brought here"

CJ has a point. We often forget that some of our lawmakers are themselves, lawyers.

Setting your elitish nonsense aside for a moment; doesn't it strike you as odd that employers would outsource American jobs overseas to key locations where the government just happens to need as allies? And isn't it strange that employers are hiring a lot of illegal immigrants? Finally, isn't it odd that people within YOUR OWN RANKS, are repeating that Americans are lazy, the rich deserve it all since they pay so much, and dude, if I were to destroy a nation, this would be a good way to do it. I'll bet if you researched, the CIA used the same techniques to topple foreign countries' governments. To make an entirely new one. My views might be treason. They've been locking up writers, you know. What if we're all being played one against the other, when we should be looking at both Republicans and Democrats as the threat? Then the only logical course of action is to vote them ALL out of office and that means no Romney either.

Rick Kepple said...

According to the Russians, some of the American military have plans for a coup in the United States before November.

However, if we examine all that's happened in Egypt, etc., it is arrogance to believe that it can't happen in America.

This story is also carried by newspapers in Europe.

The U.S. military is sworn to protect and defend all enemies to America, foreign and domestic. So protecting Americans from the government itself might actually be real. I don't think we have to worry about the military being turned on Americans. The U.S. Army takes oaths very seriously.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

The illegal kids and the sentimentalists who sob for them feel that they should get the reduced resident rate of $76 per credit hour in AZ rather than have to pay the out of state fee of $317 per hour. I say "bullshit" to that.

Why should illegals get advantages over American kids who may live in another state and have to pay the $317? At least those kids from other states are legal. If anyone gets an advantage, it should be them.

Jan has said "NO! to illegal kids getting driver's licenses or in state fees. I hope that decision holds. Naturally, the ACLU is our there fighting for the illegals.

Jim McAllister said...

Me an elitist? That's hilarious. I simply believe that when we have immigration laws, they should be upheld. We have a president who only believes in getting re-elected and he will do anything for any special interest groups to accomplish his ends including his favorite ploy: class warfare.

CJ Phoenix said...

"They were born in Mexico and smuggled in by their illegal parents. Do they have any ID proving otherwise?"

All I was doing was analyzing the words being thoughtlessly thrown around in this argument: The subjects of the dream act did not immigrate here, their parents did that. Seriously, Jim, I am not even contesting the point that people who were brought here illegally should not be given unfair advantages over people who were born here. Just saying it would help if you put some thought into your side of the argument. And, actually, even that ID argument is full of holes & there are literally holes all along our border with Mexico for immigrants to crawl out of.

As far as tuition rates go: that is about residency, not where a person was born ... So, for instance, I was born here. But when I came home from Cali, I had to wait a year to re-enroll in college for the in state tuition.

One last thing & then I am outta here: That "class warfare" thing as applied to the Democrats & their ideas is a bunch of hooey too. Look at it this way: BOTH primary parties appeal to a certain demographic of people & both demonize the other group (or class as you like to call it) ... HOWEVER I believe that it was the Republicans that initiated the full blown attack on the middle class with all their labor union busting while completely ignoring that corporate America is rife with power & money hungry unions too. It is also the Republicans who are nowadays all about letting people who are not "a perfect fit" for some corporate model & who have not yet accumulated at least some wealth die in the street for all they care.

Jim McAllister said...

CJ,

You're drawing a fine line. If they were brought here by their parents but born in Mexico, they are illegal immigrants just like their parents. They just didn't know it at the time. It's the selfishness of their parents that got them into the pickle they are in.

I don't look at residency meaning anything as far as in state tuition. Just because they have lived here for a number of years doesn't mean they have established residency. They are still illegal and not entitled to the same benefits of citizens.

That's why people who came here the correct way and become citizens are so happy as they wave their little American flags while they receive their citizenship documents. THOSE are the people I respect; not the ones who sneak in then expect the benefits of citizenship handed to them on a silver platter and when they don't get it, they parade around town burning our flag.

Do you honestly think that Obama is not pursuing class warfare? He knows damn well that things like the deferred action will cause consternation between whites and Hispanics just like he knew he would gain strength with blacks by sticking his nose into the Trayvon Martin ordeal with his famous "If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon."

The trouble with unions is they have become too powerful and have made it impossible for companies to do business. Do you think Ford really wants to build cars in Mexico? Hell no, but they can do it as workers work for a lot less than here. Would you pay an employee $40 and hour if someone else would do the same job for $10. It is just good business sense. It's called the law of supply and demand.

It's the same with other companies like Amana and Hershey Chocolate. I'm sure they hated moving but they have stockholders that demand a profit. Sorry, that just life.

As far as your statement: It is also the Republicans who are nowadays all about letting people who are not "a perfect fit" for some corporate model & who have not yet accumulated at least some wealth die in the street for all they care.

That is too silly to warrant a reply.

Jim, I do my quail and rabbit hunting north of Carefree off the road to Horseshoe lake. All the hunting areas around New River are off limits. That's progress I suppose.

I agree with your take on this dreamer kids, they're illegal.
I guess if we wanted to get technical about we could call them foreign nationals.

This whole illegal problem is the fault of the federal government. That includes past presidents, congresses, and most importantly the federal courts.

I'm surprised CJ is sticking up for the dreamers. Does she what to compete with thousands of illegals for a job?

midnightsstaff said...

"All I was doing was analyzing the words being thoughtlessly thrown around in this argument: The subjects of the dream act did not immigrate here, their parents did that"

immigrate?...migrate?...lol maybe we should look up the definitions and their subtle difference.

true they didn't "immigrate" they were migrated illegally, in effect forced to break US federal laws by kidnappers..
..try driving across even a state line and breaking the law, much less a federal border with children as unwitting accomplices and claiming innocence..

How many fathers in Arizona or any other state are caught in Mexico with his kids and are sent back to the US for trial?

.. doesn't matter, they were born somewhere else- we must choose whether we are to behave as grownups within a nation of law or continue this nightmare of being dictated to through one man's whim..

It will only be a matter of time before the world court starts hearing these charges from children being kidnapped by their own parents and transported across national boundaries, in a world court arena the dream act will be redundant therefore unnecessary..

..but they probably could sue the fed for entrapment and win because of the open border- and God knows in this coming economy the lawyers are going to have to start thinking outside the box.

"I'm surprised CJ is sticking up for the dreamers. Does she what to compete with thousands of illegals for a job?"

"Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong"- ayn rand.

That would be making an assumption mike.. figure it out.

"Why should illegals get advantages over American kids who may live in another state and have to pay the $317?"

I just didn't understand what they were paying. Missouri passed laws so that illegal immigrants can't get public funding for anything. There are refugees though. They get funding.

That's no excuse, Jim. You say that when a meteor fell on someone. Stockholders have an obligation to God, investors and their country. If they can't employ Americans, then what good are they? They're useless and need to be removed so another may take their place who believes in their country. If this means government control, then maybe the Elite need to be ruled over if they don't have ethics. Maybe military veterans can baby sit them.

I am really Angry! My question is two-fold:
One - Why is she virtually the only state official one taking this offensive?

and

Two-Why do so many consider her actions to be anti-American?

All I was saying is that your arguments would be a lot more persuasive if you all would use the correct terms. And, yeah, Jim, the liberals use the term "illegal immigrants" incorrectly to describe the subjects of the Dream Act too. I wonder why that is? Could it be that the people who were smuggled in as children are a lot more sympathetic & the liberals do not really want to deport the parents either so they lump them all together??? You are playing right into the liberal hand by being so stubborn.

Rick Kepple said...

"You are playing right into the liberal hand by being so stubborn."

Yeah! What she said!

Meanwhile, the Mississippi River is drying up. Well how are they gonna get the grain downriver now? One of the major causes of war is famine.

SN taught me by example to put wealth first before love. People tell me to pray, but I don't want to. I'm trying to be smarter now like Jim and make money. Someone else can pray for rain.

Rick Kepple said...

I pray for rain for the Ozarks. A nice storm circling for days dropping rain. A weather phenomenon.

But the United States government was training for food shortages years ago, when everyone said it was fear mongering. It was fear mongering.

So what if allowing all the illegal immigrants in, is actually an act of compassion by Republican and Democrat Presidents, because they knew in advance what's coming. Perhaps the United States will thrive, because we are God fearing people, but the heathens will suffer. Famine starts wars.

Great line, Rick.

"SN taught me by example to put wealth first before love. People tell me to pray, but I don't want to. I'm trying to be smarter now like Jim and make money. Someone else can pray for rain."

SN had a good point. It's nice to have love but you can't spend it at the grocery store.

I'm thinking of the scene from "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946) where Clarence the angel (Henry Travis) tells George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) how they don't have money in heaven. Stewart replies, "Well, it sure comes in handy down here, Bub." Indeed it does!

As far as praying for rain, go ahead and do it. A lot of people believe in God but a lot don't; after all we have no real tangible proof, do we?

I say go ahead and assume he/she exists. Maybe if he/she is not busy that day he/she can take a minute and drop some rain on the mid-west. Hell, it's worth a shot!

Allen,

I love Jan Brewer. She fell into the job as Gov when Nappy joined the anointed one in Washington to run DHS.

I see where Nebraska has followed her decision.

Brewer believes in laws which are not a popular subject with liberals these days since they like to whine about the plight of the poor illegals, etc.

She has it right which brings out the ire of the bleeding hearts. My only hope is that someone like the ACLU can't find some sort of loophole to overrule her.

Hopefully, other states will join her. I see where 10 members of ICE are suing Obama over this deferred crap so it sure isn't over. I hope it snowballs. O is fighting for his life and will do or say anything to feed his gigantic ego.

I pray that God gives me all of SN' wealth so I can blow it. I don't want to date the woman. I want to take everything she has, including her family and friends. I want the woman to suffer like she's made me suffer. And I want Syria destroyed. I want Iran gone. I want a third of the global population dead. I am a magnification of SN. I want vengeance for Dora. And God will destroy SN sooner or later, by making her do it to herself through her own ignorance.

Rick Kepple said...

SN world and my world are very different. She says we're friends and she loves me. Her actions do not reflect those words, so she lied to merely gain my trust and I won't give her another chance.

I believe in God and He is my friend. He helps in small ways and big miracles. God is a good friend and does a lot of things. Or you can say it's coincidence. If so, I have a lot of good coincidences making my life better. But bad things happen to me as they happen to everyone.

A person in town told me that Medicaid cut her children's medical care off and she blames Obama, but Missouri did that. Not him. Obamacare will take care of the children. God will take care of the rich that seek to destroy me and the innocent. There are lots of ways to die. The lucky ones die slow so they have time to seek God and make amends.

Rick Kepple said...

Plain and simple truth is that SN gained the entire world and lost me, lost love, lost a valuable future, but she could still have God. She's got money and fame, but she lost me as a good friend. Now I'm just some guy that used to know her.

You having gone through health problems, Jimmy, must have faced your own mortality. Or maybe you'd rather just believe that life fades into darkness when the brain and heart stops functioning.

The sad fact is that the illegal immigrants do indeed believe in God and He is taking very good care of them, isn't He? Irksome, isn't it?

You "earned" your investment money, but the fact is that God gave it to you. Jimmy, God could take away everything in a wink of an eye. You just haven't ever came close to death, I suppose. I have many times. And I've had those dreams and visions and I am left believing there must be a God.

The thing is that I've come to believe is that blood sacrifices are still necessary and that must be why there is senseless death.

Rick Kepple said...

O is fighting for his life and will do or say anything to feed his gigantic ego.

Then perhaps I'll have to help him. He hates the rich too and SN is rich. She needs to pay.

I protected the woman and I can't get a date to save my life. Her stalker, Gamelson, said that I'm gay. Well, I'd hate to make SN into a liar. I might have to go gay to get a date.

I doubt if too many waste their time wading through Rick's pile of crap, all he seems to do is crap on this blog site, but it looks like he is once again threatening people (which is a prosecutable criminal act in itself) and whining at the same time.

.. mental case under a waxing moon I guess..

The msm right on cue is trotting out their old standby and their last hope of saving Marxism in exposing the religious terrorism of Mormonism that awaits us.

This is valuable information that dutiful, mindless parrots like Rick will soon be expounding on ... soulless, mindless eaters who don't mind the thought of stealing from others such as he and others have little choice, it's what they are programmed from birth to do.

Yeppers, it appears that Mormonism is just too shadowy a religion to trust when it comes to choosing our president.. can we take a chance?

Of course there was no in depth exposure by the lap dog media in 2008 concerning the temple of hate Obama and his tribe members sat in and listened to year after year.
Anyone remember Rev. Wright's voodoo/political hate speech?
..nothing to see, keep moving along.

But this Mormonism thing is as Joe Biden once said.. "really big"

Mindless Obamabots like hillbilly Rick will fall for the big lie every time they get the chance, just watch him start responding like Pavlov's dog to Satan's bell.

This shit is as predictable as flies on a dead mule.

Middy,

NEW BLOG TO BE POSTED TODAY!

I'm running a bit behind this week. I usually post at least every 7 days.

The Dems are on the run. I see where they are going to be in Florida trying to take attention away from the Rep convention. Purely an act of desperation as it is to attack Mormonism.

Maybe the Mormons have it right. I don't see any Mormon gangs flash mobbing or killing pizza delivery people or cutting off their kid's heads and putting them in a freezer. The ones I have met are well behaved and law abiding. No Jeremiah Wrights in the Mormon Church! That ploy will backfire.

I think I am looking forward to the Biden-Ryan debates more than anything.

I have never threatened anyone loudmouth. Nice try though. Just because you think you have some power from your wealth, doesn't mean jack to the law.
