ELECTION THERAPY FROM MY BASKET OF DEPLORABLES

(The following was written by the brother of liberal New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.  Obviously he has a different outlook on the recent election than his esteemed sister.)

The election was a complete repudiation of Barack Obama: his fantasy world of political correctness, the politicization of the Justice Department and the I.R.S., an out-of-control E.P.A., his neutering of the military, his nonsupport of the police and his fixation on things like transgender bathrooms. Since he became president, his party has lost 63 House seats, 10 Senate seats and 14 governor positions.

The country had signaled strongly in the last two midterms that they were not happy. The Dems' answer was to give them more of the same from a person they did not like or trust.

Preaching - and pandering - with a message of inclusion, the Democrats have instead become a party where incivility and bad manners are taken for granted, rudeness is routine, religion is mocked and there is absolutely no respect for a differing opinion. This did not go down well in the Midwest, where Trump flipped three blue states and 44 electoral votes.

The rudeness reached its peak when Vice President-elect Mike Pence was booed by attendees of "Hamilton" and then pompously lectured by the cast. This may play well with the New York theater crowd but is considered boorish and unacceptable by those of us taught to respect the office of the president and vice president, if not the occupants.

Here is a short primer for the young protesters. If your preferred candidate loses, there is no need for mass hysteria, canceled midterms, safe spaces, crying rooms or group primal screams. You might understand this better if you had not received participation trophies, undeserved grades to protect your feelings or even if you had a proper understanding of civics. The Democrats are now crying that Hillary had more popular votes. That can be her participation trophy.

If any of my sons had told me they were too distraught over a national election to take an exam, I would have brought them home the next day, fearful of the instruction they were receiving. Not one of the top 50 colleges mandate one semester of Western Civilization. Maybe they should rethink that.

Mr. Trump received over 62 million votes, not all of them cast by homophobes, Islamaphobes, racists, sexists, misogynists or any other "ists." I would caution Trump deniers that all of the crying and whining is not good preparation for the coming storm. The liberal media, both print and electronic, has lost all credibility. I am reasonably sure that none of the mainstream print media had stories prepared for a Trump victory. I watched the networks and cable stations in their midnight meltdown - embodied by Rachel Maddow explaining to viewers that they were not having a "terrible, terrible dream" and that they had not died and "gone to hell."

The media's criticism of Trump's high-level picks as "not diverse enough" or "too white and male" - a day before he named two women and offered a cabinet position to an African-American - magnified this fact.

Here is a final word to my Democratic friends. The election is over. There will not be a do-over. So let me bid farewell to Al Sharpton, Ben Rhodes and the Clintons. Note to Cher, Barbra, Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham: Your plane is waiting. And to Jon Stewart, who talked about moving to another planet: Your spaceship is waiting. To Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z, Beyoncé and Katy Perry, thanks for the free concerts. And finally, to all the foreign countries that contributed to the Clinton Foundation, there will not be a payoff or a rebate.

As Eddie Murphy so eloquently stated in the movie 48 Hrs.: "There's a new sheriff in town." And he is going to be here for 1,461 days.

Merry Christmas.

Jim, he was right on every point. Liberals can't handle the truth that Hillary lost. Now they want to change the rules and do away with the Electoral College and make it a popular vote which ain't going to happen.

Hillary lost because she ignored the white working men and women of this country. They are tired of liberal policies. I doubt liberals will learn from this defeat. They will keep pushing the PC talk not to mention gun control and diversity.

Hi Jim. I won't get into any rebuttals (whew!). It would only send my blood pressure through the roof. What I will agree on is that Pence was treated deplorably (ironic, that, eh what?) by the audience and cast of Hamilton. That was SO not cool. That kind of disrespect and classlessness pisses me off regardless of the party or philosophy of any sector of society.

That was a great article, Jim! You are right! Maureen may never talk to her brother again after such a clear-sighted article full of truths!

Jim McAllister said...

Thanks, Lynda.

It's great to see that kind of post. He really let it all hang out; great stuff!

Now that it's over and Trump has beat back the attack of the left, we can relax a bit and prepare hopefully for him to turn this country around.

Hi Jim,

Good to see that someone has some sense in that family. I wonder if his comments will mean no Christmas dinner invitation to Maureen's house. LOL

Mike,

The Dems keep bitching about the popular vote going to Hillary, therefore, she should win. They are too dumb to realize that it is unimportant; it's the electoral votes that count. The reason is that if it was popular vote a few states would control the elections. I don't thin anyone in their right mind wants states like California and new York controlling the elections. We would have nothing but airhead libs running the joint.

Jim McAllister said...

Glo,

So true about the Hamilton cast. That's what I love about the libs. They never think before they impulsively shoot their mouths off. I hope they keep it up. Every knock by them is a boost to our guys.

Meanwhile, about 30 days until we send Obama packing.

I am on an an Internet making phone, cause someone deliberately twisted the lines in 573-765-xxxx area. ATM's down. Phones crossed like in the old days. Not a word in the media and the news said it's not a story until CenturyLink says it is. Welcome to the USSR v.2

Unknown said...

Republicans have taken over where I live. Phone lines not working, meth smoking business owner popped for weed use still on probation, cause he's necessary to the economy. There was no real contest. Madam Clinton was the one who kept her mouth shut about the GOP illegal drug smuggling in Reagan's time. Losing can be winning if they wanted Trump in and Clinton isn't really a bad guy, in the game. Tried to tell you. Oh well. Scottsdale won't notice changes. Remember this; GOP never gets their hands dirty. They will send felons with promise of lessening their sentences. Save aggravation and aim true. The GOP will run out of bad guys. I'm not falling for the good guy-bad guy routine. Waiting on the goons now. Suspended the SN Rules. My rules instead.

Gibbs says, no such thing as coincidence. Phone lines near a military base go down and the media doesn't care. Weird. Everything else is fine. It's just that Russia silences writers. And 40 percent of Americans don't mind. Don't believe in coincidences. When you get an order, you carry it out, no questions asked. Techs are political too and in Russia, they often ignore free speech. Not to mention Trump is vindictive and known for it. Let the universe work. Trump ain't Reagan.

Unknown said...

BTW. Old phone. Internet still down. ATM timed out! Right at the bank.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

Somehow I get the feeling that you are a Democrat! LOL

I love this old dinosaur phone. Neighbors said they only have local phone for Internet. They said they're getting misdirected calls too. F**$#@# Democrats sabotaging America before the GOP takes over. I have a video to send to a mother to surprise he daughter on a supercarrier in the Pacific for Christmas. All work and communication is frozen. A new client comes in tomorrow and the studio is down because all the fast Internet is in the cities. Until I make money, I can't justify a move anywhere. It still baffles me why the Dems put Clinton up. It's like they wanted to lose.

Unknown said...

Wow! So there are some honest and down to earth Democrats left.

Jim, now that Hillary has lost for the second time California wants to secede from the U.S. I say let them. That or give the state back to Mexico. We would be rid of Nancy Pelosi once and for all.

I see where Obama is giving us the middle finger one more time before he leaves. He's sending a United Nations small arms treaty that John Kerry signed to the U.S. Senate. If passed it would make the 2nd amendment moot. It takes 67 votes to pass.

to me
Maureen can go have Christmas dinner at Don’s.

Jim McAllister said...

Right, I wonder if she will be invited. Probably not.

Jim McAllister said...

Jim, I'd like to be a mouse in the corner and hear that conversation!

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

I guess they figured it was her turn and that the women of the country were ready for more liberal nonsense. Not so, nobody was ready so a guy who believes in restoring the country to its former glory before the Obama nonsense was a good choice. Her margin in the popular vote didn't mean a thing as it was mostly concentrated in the large liberal states like California and New York. It's a perfect example of why the electoral college is needed.

Jim McAllister said...

Jake,

Hard to believe! LOL

Mike,

Nothing would be more pleasant than to see California and Pelosi disappear from the US. We don't need the Hollywood phonies or the protesting illegals that never had it so good. They probably can't even spell J-O-B. Keep that welfare flowing is all they care about.

I hope Trump continues to be a hard ass; we need it. He is a non politician and that is great.

I actually do want legal weed and the guys I brought in to fight for Dell Mack; they were actually Republicans, not Democrats. The mind is bent, not broken.

Under Trump, Americans can burn a joint after a hard day of work and a nice paycheck to pay for a decent place to live and a good life.

Jim McAllister said...

Sounds like a good deal to me Rick. I think it has been proven over the years that a little joint smoking isn't the end of the world as long as it doesn't lead to more harmful stuff.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, I hope you and Barb have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Cain't wait for next month when the Obama's are gone and Trump is the President.

Jim McAllister said...

Same to you Mike. Always a pleasure to receive your comments.

Yes, it will be a day of celebration when Obama and Michelle move out of the White House. They have been an embarrassment to this country since day one. It's shameful that he was ever elected. I hope Trump gets the support he needs from Congress to get this country back in gear. He has both houses of Congress if they will only cooperate.

Take care.

Merry Christmas to you too. Thanks for your contributions on the blog.

I've thought of living in Paradise Valley, Arizona. This living around normal people isn't working. There's got to be lots of people like me in richdom. I have no patience for stupid people anymore. Jen has been acting a bit too much like SN and I've discontinued helping her.

Donald Trump intends to streamline the world and make it more efficient. However, given that people are hardwired to certain fixed, repeating patterns of behavior; his efforts are pointless. Russia proved that marijuana can absorb radiation from the soil and cleanse it. If that's true, then we could nuke the middle east and plant weed afterwards.

Jim McAllister said...

You have good taste, Rick. PV is probably the most affluent place in the Phoenix area.

Unknown said...

Jim, you know that I had no love of Obama. He was a mistake from the start: one the progressives made from the get-go. But Donald Trump is one up on that error. The man is a deadly Super Ego walking on two legs.
