"IF YOU'VE GOT A BUSINESS; YOU DIDN'T BUILD THAT"

“One thing not subject to debate is what government owns.  It owns nothing.”
Gary Burk, American Thinker

Edward Klein’s bestselling book on Obama is called The Amateur.  I have purchased it but have not read it yet although after the events of the past week, I can’t think of a better title for a book about Obama.

The cracks are starting to show on this president as evidenced by his unfortunate words of last week (unfortunate for him; great for most of us).  By now we know them by heart:  “If you’ve got a business; you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.”

I wonder how my friend Bob Wilson feels about those words.  Bob is a guy who has busted his butt for more than a few years building a single Subway franchise into a six store chain.  Bob knows all about long hours and sweat and toil to get his small business going.  I’m sure he and many like him in this country have contempt for words like “you didn’t build that; somebody else made that happen.”  Gee; do you think the prez might be referring to his beloved union members as the straw that stirs the drink?

Obama is a guy who couldn’t survive without a teleprompter.  Maybe that is why we rarely hear him speak without the use of one.  In the case of the above comment, it was said on a rainy day in Virginia and perhaps the prompter shorted out and he had to assume the role of the emperor who had no clothes.

When will I learn?
Adlibbing is not a strong suit for the prez.  We have heard him try it a few times and when he speaks it reinforces our belief about why he keeps his supposed college records and everything else about his past sealed tightly.

As predicted, Obama came back with a denial that he made such a statement but the proof is in the video.  It doesn’t matter how many times he denies it, it is etched in the recording and in the minds of millions of angry small business owners in this country.  It’s just another example of why Klein refers to him as an amateur.

I agree with Michael Barone of the Washington Examiner:  “High earners don’t deserve the money they make,” Obama apparently thinks.  “It’s the gift of government, and they shouldn’t begrudge handing more of it back to government.”  There’s more:  He told Charles Gibson of ABC News in 2008 that “even if those higher tax rates produce less revenue for the government….the government should take away more money (from the rich) as a matter of ‘fairness’ “.   Spoken like a true socialist.

That’s your president speaking folks so if you happen to have worked hard and are enjoying your spoils, you better start putting your money in coffee cans and burying them before big sis Janet Napolitano comes knocking on your door.  Remember her?  She’s the one who fears that veterans of this country’s military could be terrorist threats.  It’s a hell of a way to say “Thank you for your service, sir!”  That’s the kind of mentality we have to deal with under this administration.

One last comment:  In his ill fated Virginia remarks, Obama also mentioned that “There are a lot of wealthy, successful, Americans who agree with me because they want to give something back.”  It was another reference to his justification of taxing the rich with higher rates. So, (yawn), what’s new?

Anyway, as a public service I am going to help poor Barack get more money from those rich people he mentioned that want to “give something back.”  I assume he is referring to his entertainment business phony friends who in reality are some of the biggest tax dodgers in the country.

Yeah I'm planning to go Aug 1 and tell the manager why I support them..

sick of these gangbangers in pinstripes trying to use their Shitcago tactics on honest business.. and then he invites Farrakhan who not only says gays are an abomination but says the Constitution was written by Godly men using Godly principles..

'While holding up a copy of the Newsweek magazine that called Pres. Obama the "First Gay President," Minister Farrakhan said, "You think they are not mocking him?...He's the first president that sanctioned what the scriptures forbid. Why is it that all you politicians take your oath of office on the Bible? If the book is no good what the hell are you using it for to take an oath of office to uphold---not the bible--but the constitution? But the constitution comes out of their recognition of the value of this book".'

Hell I never thought I would say it but I think I agree with what Farrakahn is saying more than what Obama or Goebblels.. (Rahm Emanuel).. stand for.

everybody knows that the emperor has no clothes..

Told you years ago. GOP and Dems are in it together for the same goal, but different paths. Global governance by Democrats or Republicans.

Next the TSA will set up border crossing booths to ask for Papers. Go from one state to another and you might get strip searched. "What is your purpose for traveling from Arizona to California, Mr. McAllister?"

It might even be Mitt Romney in a police uniform with a Rambler.

I had an interesting conversation in person with a fella sort of in the military. He said that Obama is using Mitt Romney's tactics.

He said that the military is being redesigned and cut back for "special operations military" that was done in the 90's during Somalia and it miserably failed. Also, departments are being cut by more than half, which is classic Mitt Romney to make it appear that they can't do their job, resulting in the extermination of that department and parted out.

The preppers? The government is using fear to build the largest private army from the fear they instill, to make people buy guns and ammo.

Class warfare is classic 'divide and conquer' to force change in the United States.

Regardless of who wins in November, lawsuits over rainwater will continue. And Food Stamps may be cut which will make Middy a happy target, because if he's rich, the poor will take from him. My source says this is designed to create chaos.

"United we stand or divided we fall," is what he said. So both Republicans and Democrats are pitting us against one another and using illegal immigrants as patsies.

His advice? Arm yourselves. There is nothing we can do about it. Mitt Romney is the hatchet man and it is debatable if Wall Street will continue to make money, but they probably will since the richest in the world appear to be instigating this entire thing to stablize the global population to prevent another 9/11.

Apparently, the rich don't like being targeted. That's for the poor folks in the military to get shot, not them.

Glean from this what you will, but when Bodo gets here, I think we will have an interesting discussion about the future of this nation. I'd be interested in hearing his point of view.

Middy,

Yeah, maybe Mr. Kelly is the future of the Republicans. he is from Debbie Slater's neck of the woods in Erie, PA., a car dealer.

Attaboy Mike,

Maybe we should have a blogger's lunch at Chick fil-a for all of us to support them.

It doesn't surprise me that this happened. The guy who founded them is very religious and I'm sure he is disgusted with all the gay stuff.

I have no problems with gays. If that is the lifestyle they chose, fine. I just don't care to read everyday in the paper or see on TV where they are bitching about their treatment in this world.

They are pretty dumb if they thought there would be no backlash to them when they decided to come out so let them live with it.

Middy,

That's funny, even Farrakhan is against the anointed one now. LOL

How about that Catholic Colorado company with 300 employees winning the case to not pay for contraceptives. Do you think that will now snowball? Quite a blow to Obamacare.

Luckily, I don't want to go to California any more but I see your point.

Hell, they have taken your produce away at the border for years already.

"Maybe we should have a blogger's lunch at Chick fil-a for all of us to support them" = +1.
find one for next Wednesday and sign me up..

I agree, I have worked alongside many of them and have had no real issue with normal gays I know, in fact they seem to be a bit more dependable in a lot of ways than the average hetro product of these times..

normally they save their practice of screwing folks for each other... (sorry, couldn't resist)

Let the window dressing continue... I wonder what is in store for the first of August?
The market looks bipolar to someone who doesn't understand what is happening, what happens if it does crash before the elections?- I don't know if it can be saved one more time, but I have been amazed at the card tricks we have seen the last two years- and that's not including a world wide recession they tried to avoid now in full bloom.

If normal capitalist principles of creative destruction had been allowed as Mitt Romney employed at Bain Capital we would be in the second year of a booming true recovery by now..

instead we face a depression...
politics.

Middy,

I've also worked with gays in civilian and military life and got along fine with them. They went their way and I went mine with never a discussion of sexual orientation.

All of a sudden because this president gets involved with their support, we have to have a series of brouhahas over their "rights". I'm sure a lot of the older gays roll their eyes at the new kids on the block.

Like it or not for them, we live in a hetero society and there will always be those who are disgusted with same sex unions. Just because some unqualified president sanctions their lifestyle doesn't mean the majority will accept it.

Where the hell is the common sense in this country? Just because Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and some other billionaires support them doesn't mean they can go mainstream in a day.

Kudos to Chick-Fil-A for not abandoning their beliefs.

I have been to Chick fil A once in my lifetime... but then I go to GnG's (gagandpukes) only once in a while anyway...

I think I am going to start taking some business there.. how bad can you mess chicken up?- do they sell beer?
maybe the strips are good..

The liberal mind's answer to eliminating random gun violence is to prohibit guns...

The liberal mind's answer to our government created drug problem is legalizing drugs...
Got that?

I should have said...

The liberal mind's answer to government created drug problem is legalizing drugs... and more government..

sorry folks for the confusion - senior moment.

plus more government.

It's amazing how many otherwise sane people believe these are answers.

How about just "de-scumming" the country starting with L.A. and Anaheim since they are the current hot spots.

Chick-Fil-A is not bad. They used to have counters in the Smitty's stores in the 90s and I would stop by while calling on the store.

When Fry's took over, they left and currently have places in malls and other centers like at the 101 and Scottsdale Road.

Buzz,

Hell, Muslims would be fine as owners; Obama loves them. Why else would that POS who killed those people at Ft. Hood still be breathing?

Why else would Muslims be permitted to bow towards mecca in New York City in the middle of busy streets while it is illegal to have a baby Jesus crib in a park at Christmas?

Welcome to Obama's USA. "We don't want to offend anyone." Anyone, that is, who is foreign.
