COLIN KAEPERNICK

Quote from San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick:  "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.  To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

I don’t see any place where he said he will refuse to take his large salary from a white managed NFL team in order to reinforce his beliefs about the poor treatment of blacks in our society.  So far all he has done is refuse to stand for National Anthem of the country that has allowed him to become rich and famous.

·    Note to Colin:  Hey, Colin!  If you really want to impress us, walk away from your high paying job in the NFL and get yourself down and dirty in the neighborhoods where you feel that black people are getting a bad deal and physically help them out of their quagmire of a life.  However, before you do that you may wish to know that in 2015 police killings of blacks accounted for approximately 4 percent of homicides of blacks.  Police killings of unarmed blacks accounted for approximately 0.6 percent of homicides of blacks.  The overwhelming majority of black homicide victims (93 percent from 1980 to 2008) were performed by blacks.  (from American Renaissance)
While Kaepernick tries to impress us that blacks are getting a bad deal because of unfairness in the United States, he may be partially correct although not the way he would wish to be.  The above numbers show that blacks are more likely to kill each other and that those bodies in the streets that he mentions may probably have nothing to do with  police brutality.  Maybe he should check the facts closer before insulting his country unnecessarily. Although I think the guy means well, he may have had his bell rung a few times too many on the football field.
It’s a shame when these situations occur.  I have always enjoyed watching the guy play for the 49ers even though I am not a fan of that or any other NFL team.  He has always impressed me with his running ability when it appears he may be thrown for a significant loss.  Unfortunately, it appears that he may be cut regardless of any skills he had or currently has.  He has been around a few years and the NFL has a way of slowing guys down simply because of the attrition of age and injury.  Kaepernick is now 28 and has had a lot of physical punishment for the last six years.  Maybe he has lost a step.

I don’t particularly care what he does as I don’t follow the NFL very much anymore.  However, I feel the wrong people have advised him in this situation.  A lot of players in the league are not happy that he has trashed the American flag and the National Anthem. Like most Americans, they don’t like that he is abusing the country that has made him famous and awarded him with a lot of money.

I wish I could make a comment on this situation, but I would be unable to do so without using THAT WORD. Because THAT WORD describes what he and his ilk precisely are. And I would like to use THAT WORD many times.

Jim could not agree more...Rather than me recite a lot of facts the attached link to a video produced by Prager U and says it all.

I will say that Colin Kaepernick like many others believe what they want to believe and rarely will absolute facts change their beliefs or behaviors. It's more about taking a stance that brings recognition or controversy rather than LISTENING to what the facts scream to those that will listen

Jim,

Amazing, isn't it? These guys take so much for granted. Spoiled brats who are clueless about how lucky they are to be in this country even with a loser like obama in charge.

Glo,

Guys like CK are typical these days. It's easy for them to possess their liberal views since they have never served a day in the military learning about camaraderie, common sense and basic life values. They are totally into themselves, suffer from paranoia, and have no clue about real life. That's what being a multimillionaire at 28 can do to a person if they are not realistic. Kaepernick is not a realist. He is a dumb guy influenced by those who he should be avoiding.

Al,

That is a great video by Ms. MacDonald and Prager. Great statistics which prove how off base people like Kaepernick and other are out of touch with reality. Thanks for posting; a great reinforcement to the blog.

Perhaps Colin would choose another form of protest if he served in the military. As always, thanks for writing Jim!

He says he can't show pride in " a country that oppresses black people,"but where's the proof that a government lead by a black president---with a black woman serving as attorney general --is racist and unjust?
Although as a patriot and a Vietnam veteran I strongly oppose what he has done I can understand how he feels justified and will get away with it. We have a liberal Muslim president who never put his hand over his heart when the National Anthem was played for the first year of his presidency because he said the National Anthem was about War. The first lad said, "I have never been proud of my country". The national Democratic convention recognized the BLACKLIVES MATTER movement as a legitimate organization and let them speak at the convention. Where were the Black Lives Matter group and the Black Panther at the floods in Baton Rouge leaving black families dead and devastated? Why weren't they there handing out food and aid to their own people. Because the Black Lives matter group is a communist organization funded by George Soros whose purpose is to further racially divide the people of the United States. Is anyone aware that the Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States was an attorney for the Black Panthers States?
Do you know that as an abandoned biracial child he was adopted and lovingly raised by white parents? Then his football talents got him a free education, and at 28 he makes $ 19 million as a backup quarterback.
Do you consider that government suppression?

Anon.

The military definitely can change a person's outlook. I know it did mine. One day your mom is washing your clothes, cooking your meals, and telling you what a wonderful kid you are as you head out the door for another day of screwing off.

The next day you are on some base miles from your mommy and busting your butt marching and being told what a dummy you are as you march to the chow hall.

It's a great place to learn about respect and responsibility; one that all these young hotshots could use. Colin has no clue as he spends his millions while criticizing the country that has given him the opportunity to have a great life.

JAB,

Well said, John.

When Obama was first elected, I figured that a lot of voters, particularly black ones, voted for him just because he was black and I understand that. After a first term which proved that the guy was inept, they RE-elected him. That was disappointing as hell and surprising as he proved in his first 4 years he was out of touch with reality. The guy has been a total embarrassment in domestic and foreign affairs and in his 8 years has managed to pull this country further apart than it has ever been. It's amazing he has retained the support he has but even the dumbest of the dumb appear to be waking up and recognizing his ineptitude. He has split this country wide open.

I look at Kapernick as a guy who doesn't have much upstairs and is easily manipulated by groups like Black Lives Matter. If he was so much into his supposed current beliefs, why hasn't he spoken up already?

As far as BLM, it's almost comical to watch them with their bad behavior which totally negates the supposed cause they are raising hell about.

You and I are about the same age and we have seen all types of black lives matter mentalities through the years. It's always the same crap regardless of the generation.

Jim McAllister said...

Ed,

At the time, I was surprised that Ali got away with it by just saying "I got nothing against no Viet Cong."

By being a celebrity, he was able to pull it off while the rest of us served. Different rules for different people; he should have been sent to Leavenworth for 2 years; the amount of time he would have had to serve if drafted.

Jim, the guy's a POS. I hope the Niners cut him and no other team picks him up. Another reason I don't watch Pro Football.

Hi Jim...

I have never been too keen on watching a bunch of millionaires running around chasing a ball....and this guy has to be the epitome of ignorance and stupidity. But again, this is what one might expect from a guy who has been brainwashed by our "progressive" educational system. It was bad enough during the sixties.....but it seems to have gotten "progressively" worse since then. Trump is absolutely correct in saying that we need to get rid of the US Dept of Education and return the administration of our schools to the state level with the added bonus of vouchers for those who are seeking a choice in the way they are educated. This, combined with teacher performance bonuses, will force the schools to compete on who will offer the best education instead of how much money they can get annually from the taxpayers....

Hey, Jimmy. Nice to see CJ, Glo The Invincible. Oh my ... politics. Jimmy, the Internet is down. Phone repair dude is coming on Tuesday. Company believes it's the wire itself. Way it's been lately - bad turns good. Wrote Obama my report of the covert/overt population management and genocide using marijuana laws. Methamphetamine is legal for medication now. I made it known to the DEA in the interview that I did for "New Rules for Medical Marijuana" and the universities refuse to play the FDA's game. As for that fella; he's a distraction. No one is taking a rich crybaby seriously. BTW, meeting with a rock singer tomorrow for details about the video. Green Screen maintenance. Lighting improvements. Good blog, Jimmy

The Army did me well. No doubt. I avoid reading about that poor football player. The real geonocide is strictly voluntary - alcohol, tobacco, meth gummies for the kids. BTW,since logger chick JJ Pritchett took over as CEO, we are doing better. Her grandfather was a somewhat famous country singer.

It is interesting that just today it was reported on the internet that he is engaged to a Muslim who is an activist with the BLM group. I believe he may be dangerous and if cut by San Francisco he should be put on an FBI watch list.

Jim McAllister said...

Happy number 65, Mike! The years really fly by.

I agree on Kaepernick. Apparently he is engaged to a muslim woman who is big into BLM. Gee, I wonder where he got he bad attitude. He is too ignorant for words. I'm sure the 49ers aren't pleased with him. I heard they were ready to cut him last week anyway because he isn't playing that great so maybe this will be the last straw with him.

It has always amazed me how impressionable these fools are. Good riddance to him if he gets cut. Let him play in Iran or some other hell hole.

Jim McAllister said...

Sonny,

I agree on the education system. The liberals have taken over and are trying to destroy everything we ever learned years ago about the greatness of this country. No National Anthem, no allegiance to the flag, no respect for those who came before us and made this country great, no respect for the military, illegals flowing in at will etc. The list is endless and the A-hole in charge right now got elected twice which shows how bad off we have become.

We really need to get Trump in there to turn this mess around. Hillary will just be a continuation of the mess we have now. We need a real hardass in there who will nail these jerks who start riots and cause other mayhem that is destroying this once great country.

It has to start with the November election and everyone must work to make the US forget that Obama ever existed.

No question about it, JAB. It's a no brainer that the guy is easily swayed into the ideas of BLM. I heard that he may be cut even before this nonsense started. He definitely should be watched.

What is it with guys like Kaepernick and Obama, they are raised by good white people in a nice neighborhood and yet they hate America? Add Kaepernick to the list of most ungrateful people in the world.

Like someone said, where on earth are blacks treated better than here in America?

Arizona Dave said...

Jim, as I understand, Colin is engaged to a Muslim lady who lives in New York...maybe he's trying to get traded to a NFL team back east ....who knows, but he's just trying to get attention, and it's working.

But let me make one final statement about him and his 49ers...I will not watch one of their games this year...and that's my choice.

Have a nice Labor Day...have shot my age in golf now 41 times, so something is working.

Jim McAllister said...

Steve,

Barb has a short but accurate description for guys like Kaepernick: "He's just not smart." That covers it about as good as anything in a minimum of words.

Years ago when a good kid would suddenly start screwing up, people would say: "He got mixed up with the wrong crowd."

I think that basically he is just a dumb ass.

Jim McAllister said...

Dave,

Yes, I noticed that too about his girlfriend. Gee, do you think maybe she influenced him on this? LOL The things some guys will do for a woman!

From what I read he was close to being cut this week from the 49ers. He was an exciting guy to watch for a few years but I'm sure he has taken a hell of a beating on the field and probably at 28 has lost a step. Plus, as good as he was they never won a title.

Congrats on beating your age again. 41 times is very impressive especially considering you are only 50! LOL

From AJD

Jim,
The point of your excellent editorial should be clear to all, with particular reference to those in the Black Community.
It should be pointed out to everyone in the Black Community (which includes their White supporters) that there have been many Minorities that have suffered long term societal prejudice. And one particular group, the American Indians, who have suffered such indignities far longer than the Blacks.
Blacks were enslaved, but the Redman was hunted down and like the buffalo brought to near extinction. One must remember that this was their land originally, and if any group has the right to disrespect the American flag they do. Yet with the exceptions of a few verbal protests lodged over the questionable names of some baseball teams, by and large they don’t go out of the way to insult the country. Their country!
As a Black person I will step up and state that for far too long the American Black Community has failed to examine itself as victim of its own construct: a deliberately formed alien resident culture. That’s right a separate culture that has declared itself immune from the nation’s laws as pertains to their self-defined community.
How else can one explain a self-declared right to flee and resist arrest by a duly authorized officers of the law? Or a right to shoot at said officers, then cry ‘racial prejudice’ when the officer shoots back.
By my estimate about 25 percent of the Black population of America has chosen to convert themselves into a violent Tribe.
Therefore I respectfully suggest that NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick redirect his protest toward his own community, rather than to the country that has treated him via fame and finance so well.

Jim McAllister said...

Allen,

I enjoyed your comment; thanks for the compliment!

There is an awful lot of anger in this country. I remember the riots of the 1960's and how I figured that someday the dust would settle and everyone would get along. Unfortunately that obviously hasn't happened with all the bad incidents in recent years. I wish there was an answer. A lot of people thought that with the election of Obama there would be some improvement. In reality he has been ineffective.

You spell it out perfectly especially when you say "the American Black Community has failed to examine itself as victim of its own construct: a deliberately formed alien resident culture. That’s right, a separate culture that has declared itself immune from the nation’s laws as pertains to their self-defined community."

I spent 4 years in the Air Force (1961-65) and spent a lot of time with Black airmen both overseas and in the US. Not once did I ever see any racial incidents within the military in those days. We shared the same barracks, chow hall, and work places together. It saddens me to see how things have deteriorated so much in recent years.

J. Wiseman said...

I think that it is too bad the incident made the news. He isn't worth the time of day.

Hi Joy,

I agree, I'm sick of these ignorant athletes making the big money when in fact they are the dumbest and must uninformed clucks there are. Of course, Obama is supporting him which I expected. He is the most ignorant of all and a total embarrassment to a once great country. I was glad to see he got a rude welcoming in China. They didn't even have a ladder ready to let him depart the plane!

At least we will be rid of him in January. Good riddance to the worst we have ever had. I just Trump is his replacement.

Colin Kaepernick is a marketing genius. Dell Mack never wanted me to go negative, not even with the weed charge, but I managed to get the press conference video global anyway. Dell's old songs, including "Crazy Cat" are now on iTunes and Pandora now.

Kaepernick spurred sales in jerseys.

At least Dell did something truly American with marijuana possession as a senior citizen/veteran with leukemia. Colin makes millions and from what? I don't know. I'm asking you.

When Colin is 78-years-old, what will he say to the youngsters? Dell Mack has the CD, "When I Grew Up" on Amazon of his new music. I doubt Colin will toss a football around in his elder years. The University of North Carolina are helping me to find some of Dell's music from the forty-five's. What are they gonna find of Colin's? He will have inspired people to destroy it all.

Jim McAllister said...

Thanks, Rick.

Dell is a good man and an American. Kaepernick couldn't carry Dell's guitar case much less play like him. Plus Dell is a good American which is something Kapernick will never be.

Here's the new Ozarks Trackers season opener when we are seeking invisible Changelings. Did we find any? We went into a minefield to find out if that's where they lived. In muddy places. In the boonies. And a lovely blue ribbon trout area too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_d_Lk36TzM

I'm working on music videos today for a mainstream client. He said I don't go to concerts, so he brought a concert to my barn! New unreleased songs! Lasers, smoke, the entire light show right in front of my barn! I enjoy making videos!

It was filmed on September 10, Jimmy. The singer released a teaser on 9/11 and if you pay attention, it was in my studio! One day, Jen and I will have one heck of a studio! Making the mega pennies!
