MISCELLANEOUS RAMBLINGS: THIS, THAT, AND SOME OTHER STUFF

It was announced this week:   Pete Rose’s lifetime banishment from baseball in 1989 for betting on games while manager of the Cincinnati Reds will not be lifted.  The pros and cons of this decision have been argued back and forth but I hold the same opinion I had in 1989:  The ban is appropriate regardless of how times and attitudes have changed.  He knew better but made the bets anyway.  Time does not heal such a wound.  He betrayed the game that made him rich and famous………..

Are the number of college football bowl games getting out of control?  One look at the schedule should answer that instantly:  YES!  I understand the greed factor; it’s a way for schools to make a few extra bucks by being selected but do the fans of schools with 5-7 or 6-6 records really get excited over these games?  For example, if I lived in Minnesota I would not be thrilled to go to a garden spot like Detroit during the winter to see my 5-7 alma mater play Central Michigan, 7-5. There are 40 bowl games this year; that’s too many...……..

"Tinker" says "Merry Christmas"
Paul Messinger of Scottsdale recently mentioned how Levis were the overwhelming choice of blue jeans when he attended high school in the 1940’s.  It was wartime and acquiring a pair of those precious jeans was not easy but at Paul’s high school in Scottsdale, they were still a must if a guy wanted to be considered “cool.”   Some might say, “What about Wranglers?” Although they were a fine product, kids of the 1940’s were very brand conscious as they are today and nothing, including the otherwise fine Wranglers, would be accepted but Levis.   As a high school kid in the 1950’s, I can identify with that mentality.  Levis were still a ‘must” during that era……….

I like this quote from writer Jonah Goldberg of the National Review.  He is referring to some of the college kids of today who think they need to change the scholastic attitudes to reflect a more liberal tone:  “You kids think it is somehow rebellious to be liberal. So, let me see if I get this right. The administrators at this school are liberal.  The professors are liberal. Your textbooks are, for the most part, liberal. Hollywood is liberal. The music industry is liberal. The fashion industry is liberal. The mainstream media are liberal, Silicon Valley is liberal. Believe it or not, most corporations and the overwhelming majority of charitable organizations are liberal.  And yet, you think you are sticking it to the man by agreeing with them?”  Goldberg’s comment reminds me of some of the 18 year old classmates I met after I returned to college after serving a hitch in the Air Force from 1961-1965. They felt a need to change the world even though it had already been changed to their liking; they just didn’t know it………..

Whether one likes or dislikes Donald Trump or hard rocker Ted Nugent, I think this is pretty funny if you have a sense of humor.  It was sent o me recently by one of my readers:   Ted Nugent walks into a Muslim bookstore in Chicago and asks the clerk if he has a copy of Trump’s book about the U. S. immigration policy regarding illegal Mexicans and Muslims.  The clerk angrily responds:  “GET OUT, GET OUT AND STAY OUT.”  Nugent replies, “Yes, that’s the one.  Do you have it in paperback?”……….

Have a wonderful Christmas holiday and New Year's.

Mike Slater has left a new comment on your post "JUST WONDERING……. Is it just me or does anyone els...":

Jim, it's sad that people on the dole get to vote. Deb and I have family members on the dole. They are on Social Security disability which is a scam. Some of them could work if they wanted to but would rather sit on their dead asses and collect a check every month. Luckily they don't vote.

You're closing in on 50 years which is amazing. My parents were closing in for 50 but my dad passed away a month before their 50th.

You're a lucky guy to have found the right girl the first time. Deb and I were both married before and I guess we learned from our mistakes.

We both wish you and Barb a merry Christmas and happy new year.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

It's a lot different world now. The Dems have spoiled people to the point that they don't want to work since they can get by on other people's dime. I don't know how they do it. There was a time when people had pride; not so much anymore. Places like churches pitched in to help those in need.

I was lucky getting Barb. I got out of the USAF on Sept. 10, 1965 and went back home to Cincinnati. While I was gone Barb and her mother and brother moved into an apartment next door. My mother told me there was a pretty, young girl living next door who was a sophomore at U of Cincinnati. Since I was enrolled at Cincy I figured I might as well meet this girl (Barb) and offer her some rides to school if our schedules were similar. One day I met her over the back fence and I was smitten at once. She was a total member of babedom! It was a lucky meeting for me and in August of '67 after we both graduated, we got married. The rest is history; we have had a great run and next August will be 50 years. Fate is a funny thing.

Merry Christmas to you and Deb too.

Jim,

I always agree with your comments on your blog. Your joke about the book store reminded me of an incident that happened on 9/11/01. My granddaughter and I were the only ones in an art supply store in old Scottsdale. Everyone was at home watching TV and the infamous attack of the Towers. The clerk was a hippie-like- looking fellow. My bill came to $14.92 cents, so, being silly, I said, in 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. The clerk starting making remarks about how Columbus brought disease - the old line, and then said that the US had it coming to it that day. We were both scared and got out of that store as soon as possible. I cannot forget that encounter. At least your joke was funny!

Jim McAllister said...

Hi Joy,

Good to hear from you.

It always seems ironic when someone like a hippie makes comments about anyone else who might have brought disease to this country while the hippies are probably the dirtiest and most unsanitary crew we have ever had. If he would have made the Columbus comment to me I would have asked him about how much disease did he think ravaged that guy's farm in New York during Woodstock in 1969. That place was an absolute sewer but they wallowed around in it to hear Jimi Hendrix and the rest of that crew.

I like your 1492 reference. I imagine you taught that guy a little about history that day. It's amazing how much they think they know about life when if fact their knowledge is quite limited.

My best to you, Duv, and Utah in this holiday season. This may be an interesting year. I only hope we can beat Hillary.

Regards,

Hey Jimmy. Merry Christmas to you!

Hey, my attorney wanted to know if I have any photos of my "cactus green" Jeep to prove to the court that it's not silver, as reported. I always thought it was "gold." The original dealer even had it as gold. Never silver. Oh, anyway no photos ... lots of videos on Youtube though with the Jeep in it.

Tinker should know that nine of his kin are coming back to the farm tomorrow. The Humane Society picked up the ferals that we trapped and the cats and kittens will be returned fixed and health check ups for Christmas.

Did I mention that the doc said, no driving? Neurologist next month. She's already told me to move to Colorado or Arizona for my health! Oh well, such is life. And Jimmy, you should tell Pete Rose that he's too old now to play baseball.

Jim McAllister said...

Merry Christmas, Rick.

That's a kind thing you did with those cats. I mentioned it to Tinker tonight and she said to be sure to thanks you for that. Cats can be a big help on your place; they are great mousers.

No driving has to be a bitch. Do you have one of those gals you know available to haul you around? Good luck with the neurologist.

Pete Rose is not too smart. He is a habitual gambler and couldn't contain himself even when he managed the Cincinnati Reds. That's what got him in trouble. Al Michaels wrote a book about his announcing career, part of which was spent as the announcer for the Reds. He said that in spring training one years he spent a day with Rose which included gambling on Jai Alai, dogs, and horses. It's an illness with Pete.

Pete is 2 weeks younger than I am but got out of high school two years after me. Not exactly an "A" student.

Unknown said...

The farm is a foster home for unwanted cats, dogs and horses. Jen is taking over and I'm also giving her the Jeep. My lawyer thinks the numbers were transposed. State vehicle documents do not have the color of the vehicle. The mind of course is racing with lots of ideas about this. Cold War stuff.

No Jimmy, it's a relief not to drive. Too much thinking going on in the head. Pete Rose sounds lazy. He was living the dream, but obviously learned early in life to take shortcuts.

So what's Santa bringing you, Jimmy? I'm getting a drone. They have to be registered, you know. Next they'll ban them and confiscate them out of pure institutional reflex.

Arizona Dave said...

Jim,
You write great articles.... I'm sure most from memory of your life experiences...they're the best kind.

The Pete Rose deal is a tough one....I'm sure many in the Hall Of Fame have done things just as bad, but Pete got caught and had that 'don't give a damn' attitude....maybe give it to him posthumously.

Liberalism is another subject....you summed it up perfectly....from the schools and teachers and forwarded to the youngsters...it's a shame...you and I worked hard, served in the military and were taught honesty and discipline...now in 2015 the world owes you this....I guess I like William Faulkner who was once asked how he knew he was going to be a great writer...his quick answer was..."I knew it because I had 3 things, a typewriter, a good pipe, and a bottle of whiskey...."

I'm happy....have now shot or bettered my age 30 times in golf....Always remember..."Aim For Heaven And The Earth Gets Thrown In; Aim For The Earth And You Get Neither."

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and Barb.....and move on into 2016...can you believe it?

Mike Slater said...

Jim, I agree that there are too many bowl games. Any team that doesn't have a winning record shouldn't be in a bowl. I looked at all the games and will probably watch maybe 10 of them.

I'm torn on the Pete Rose issue. If you look at some of the people in the Hall of Fame like Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth they were hardly outstanding citizens.

My dad always wore Levis but I preferred Wranglers, I still wear the today.

I have always like Ted Nugent, not for his music but for standing up for our gun rights. He's not afraid to tell it like it is.He/s been a board member of the NRA and had the good sense to move out of liberal Michigan and go to Texas.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

I don't think Pete Rose is lazy. His nickname of "Charlie Hustle" was appropriate; he busted his ass every time he played. His problem was an addiction to gambling. It was like a sickness that he couldn't conquer. As Al Michaels said in his book, he and Pete were hanging together in Spring training one year and Pete took him to gamble on Jai Lai, horses, and dogs.

Even that wasn't so bad but when he did the ultimate "no-no" and bet on major league baseball, that finished him. That's a sacred rule in the game; he should have known better.

Thanks, Dave for the nice compliments.

I have been enjoying your golf stories in "The Peak." You are an excellent historian and story teller of the great game. It amazes me to see these guys hit the ball today. If a guy can;'t hit it 300 he hasn't much chance anymore. I remember those old black and white All Star Golf shows with Jimmy Demerit where guys would hit those Spaulding Kro Flite balls about 240 off the tee!

Pete Rose is two weeks younger than i am (4-14-41 to 3-30-41) but got out of high school two years after I did. Not a real smart guy but could really play ball. His gambling is an illness; a true addiction. He knew the rules so I can't feel too sorry for him. Plus, he had a nice long and successful career before they nailed him so at least he had that much.

Merry Christmas to you and your wife also. Always good to hear from you.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

Yeah, greed eventually takes over all sports. Bowl games used to be a real reward for the good teams. I remember when the Rose, Sugar, Cotton, and Orange bowls were the best ones followed by a few second tier bowls like the Sun and Tangerine. Now, we have teams with 5-7 records getting bowl bids. It's bad enough that 6-6 teams get in but 5-7?

The difference between Rose and the other guys is that they were never caught betting on games like Rose did. They were hell raisers but never did anything as as bad as betting on something where they could affect the outcome. In 1919 almost the whole Chicago White Sox team was kicked out for life for throwing thew World Series.

I was a Levis guy as a kid in the 1950s. It was like Messinger said, it was Levis or nothing for kids in Cincinnati. I'm almost embarrassed to say it but I haven't worn jeans for probably the last 20 years here in AZ. I wear Dockers long pants when it is too cold for shorts and that is about it although since barb's Birthday is Monday, I'll be wearing a suit to take her to dinner at the Talking Stick resort.

Nugent is "The Man." I always liked his music and his attitude about guns. That's a funny story of him and the book store. As far as gun rights, the dumb ass liberals will have a hell of a time changing anything. It's in the Constitution and even asshole Obama can't change that.

Take care, best to Deb.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

Good job on the Tabletop Christmas video. Your stuff looks more professional every time you send something. My compliments to Nick on his music. The kid has talent.

Hope you guys all have a great Christmas.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, you're right, it's all about greed. Pro sports are the same way. That's why I don't watch them anymore. I agree that 5-7 and 6-6 teams don't belong in bowl games.

It was a different time back when Cobb and Ruth were playing. If they were playing today I doubt they would make the hall of fame. Cobb was a known racists which is a no no today. Ruth cheated on his wife. Pro hall of Fame members aren't exactly angels.

I wear mostly camo clothing since I quit hunting last year. They're comfy and I have to use them up. I have a suit in the closet I haven't worn in 20 years because I hate wearing ties.

Wouldn't you love to see the nug debate Hillary on guns? He'd wipe the floor with her. I'd pay to see it.

Unknown said...

Thanks, Jimmy. I'm not sure what I'm doing next.

Merry Christmas to you, Barb and Tinker.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

I agree on sports. I don't watch many these days. Barb likes hockey so we watch some Coyote games on TV and that is about it. Too much bullshit now with drugs, guys beating up women, etc. It's hard to be a fan.

Athletes have changed a lot. They make too much money and it has gone to their heads. I have the autographs of all the 1954 Cincinnati Reds. I was 13 at the time and would go below the grandstand in Cincy before games to get them since that was where they hung out until game time. They acted flattered to be asked and would happily smile and sign my book. The same with the 1954 New York Giants; I got their autographs in a hotel lobby in Cincy the same year. Great guys, they went on to win the World Series that year.

In 1978 I was at the Housewares show in Chicago and got Joe DiMaggio to sign his photo for me along with an inscription. He was pushing Mr. Coffee at the time; I still have that framed and on my office wall. Great guy; I think I was as excited about his screwing Marilyn Monroe as what he did in baseball!

I didn't know you quit hunting. Any particular reason? I know it is something you really enjoyed.

Jim McAllister said...

Thanks, Rick.

Keep up the good work with your buddies on those shorts.

Have a great holiday.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, I hunted with my son for 15 years after I retired. I began hunting big game at 17. I'm 64 now and just don't like the cold, getting up at 4 in the morning and all the hiking involved.

I always loved hunting and have many great memories like when my son got his first deer at 14. But as we know all good things come to an end eventually. Working outside in the Valley for 35 years takes a toll on a body. There are some things I just can't do anymore.

I agree on sports. It's not the same as when you and I grew up.I think one of the worst things that happened was free agency. Players today have no loyalty to a team they just care about the money. That's why I enjoy college sports and rarely watch pro sports.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

I can see your point about the cold and getting up early. I'll be 75 in March and my days of going for morning runs in the cold are over. I still run and even did a 5K last June but those days are gone. I just do enough to stay in decent shape plus watch my diet.

I agree on free agency. I have no problem with guys being able to change teams if they want. It's no different from someone going from one company to another to better himself. But, the teams are the ones who are crazy. The D-Backs offered Johnny Cueto $120 million for 6 years and he turned it down. Imagine getting $20 mil. a year for that long to play baseball. He wound up with San Fran because they gave him $130 mil for 6 years.

The D-back signed Zack Greinke for $34 mil a yea for about 7 years. It's insane!

I agree with you; I'm pretty much through with pro sports.

Jim McAllister said...

Steve,

The large percentage of teachers are left wing clowns. They will always criticize anyone who has been successful under capitalism as being greedy and not wanting to help the poor, stupid, and lazy bastards who are happy to sit back and suck off the government freebie tit for as long as they can. I'm not saying that everyone who takes welfare is a deadbeat as sometimes the circumstances can be such that they need a temporary helping hand to get back on their feet. However, many are also content to take the freebies forever giving nothing in return. Those are the fools who vote for Obama and other liberals. For whatever reason they feel the government owes them something.

There was a time when churches and other organizations pitched in to help people and the people who took donations tried their best to get off the freebies and maker it on their own like anyone with a conscience would. Not so much today. Just look at shit holes like Ferguson and Baltimore. Those people don't give a shit about Freddie Gray or that lard ass punk in Ferguson. They like to riot to steal as much as possible. Hell of a deal, huh? It was the same way in 1968 when they were torching cities and walking out of stores with whiskey and new TVs.

It never ends; probably never will.

The entire bus thing started about the time that I started protecting Dell Mack from the marijuana charges, opposing the status quo who have betrayed the USA. The rich and Islam have proven themselves to be the enemies of America.

All invaders shut up the writers first. Fact. They either discredit them by making them appear delusional and unreliable for information or they imprison them on trumped up charges or kill them by making it appear to be suicide. It's just how the game is played.

Don't pity me. The government will one day go after all of you, when it is time and the rich are no longer of any use in a Communist nation run by Islam.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, it seems pro players are more into money than winning championships today. Greinke is a prime example. He left the Dodgers which a good team to go to the D-backs which is not.

I read your reply to Steve and it's spot on. The poor, stupid, and lazy are that way for a reason. They don't care to be productive members of society. In Sun City we are having a problem with homeless people begging. They hang around stores are are asking for money. I can always spot them. When they come up to me I say no before they start talking. I worked too hard for my money to give it to lazy bastards.

Unknown said...

Well Jimmy, the daughter is staying for now. Rehab again. Remember when you guys said I should take responsibility for a step-child from a previous marriage? The movie, Courageous, we discussed.

Liberal business owners? Most I know are Republicans, but rural area. There are conservative groups that control people. Get rid of undesirable citizens.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

You're right about Greinke. I don't think these guys care that much about winning as they do the money. He was offered a ton by somebody else but the turned it down until the sucker D-backs came out of the woodwork with an insane offer. The D-Backs will probably do no better with him as one guy will not mean that much on a team full of holes.

The same with Cueto. he had a chance to stay with a team that easily won the World Series and get paid $20 million a year and he turns it down. Go figure, huh? How much can a guy spend until he has everything money can buy? That kind of mentality is hard to understand.

I wouldn't mind seeing Trump win but I'm concerned as to whether he can do it. The polls bother me when they say that Hillary would beat him by about 8 percentage points. I like his attitude but I don't know how he looks across the board. He calls people stupid and calls some women "ugly" and other comments he has made concern me. However, let's get rid of worthless Obama then worry about 2016.

I don't know about the west side but we have people over here standing on corners with signs written on pieces of cardboard begging for money. They hang out at intersections mainly then a truck picks them up later. It's strictly panhandling but I think Scottsdale allows it. I never give them anything. I remember about 20 years ago when they hung around freeway exits begging.

What a world, huh?

Mike Slater said...

Jim, there is no loyalty in pro sports anymore. That's why I don't watch it. It's all about the money.I often wonder how much money does one need. You sure can't take it with when you die. I soured on pro sports when they went to playoffs.

I heard today that the NBA is going to ads on Christmas during games talking about gun violence. This ads are funded by that gun hater Michael Bloomberg. That will turn some fans off.

I like Trump and don't take much stock in polls. Polls can be twisted into any thing the pollster wants. Glad to see that RINO Graham dropped out. He had no chance. I think Bush is finished. His backers have spent $100,000 million and he's polling at 3%.

The funniest sign I ever saw a homeless person had was will work for beer. Gotta admire his honesty.

Good thing I bought myself a present ... didn't get any. I'm the crazy disable dude, you know. I think I know SN. Friends laugh at me and I'll get them think I've never been published and that I'm schizo; hearing voices. What's holidays without loyal friends, right?

Jim McAllister said...

I'm with ya, Mike. Last night I was watching the Suns and that A-1-hole tattoo covered loser Markieff Morris got pulled from the game. As he went to the bench he threw a towel at coach Jeff Hornacek, one of the good guys in the NBA. Morris and his twin brother are both in trouble for a fight hey got in last summer at some basketball game. That will probably be the end of him here as they have quit starting him anyway since he isn't worth a damn. They already dumped his brother on Detroit; a good place for him. These guys are just plain stupid; they never had it so good but they always screw it up somehow.

Bush is definitely finished. He may as well skip the debates; he looks and talks like a fool at them. Trump keeps gaining in the polls but I don't like the number that says in a head to head with Hillary, she would win by about 8 points.

Jim McAllister said...

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Here are my two cents:

"You kids think it is somehow rebellious to be liberal ..."

Basically, kids are rebelling against their parents & what they perceive to be their parents' generation. No need to overthink it -- it is as simple as that.

I love Ted Nugent & Donald Trump ... Both are very entertaining & occasionally come up with something profound. I hate the thought that either could ever become President however. Same goes for Hank Williams Jr. YOU PEOPLE are outa your minds if you vote for Trump.

Don't get me started on Social Security again. All I will say is this: anybody who is currently collecting a check -- a check that I AM CURRENTLY PAYING FOR with my own labor & wages, btw, as you all are usually quick to point out -- & all the while advocating for & voting for the idea that people my age will not be receiving those same benefits ... really, really, really needs to think about what qualifies as freeloading.

One of my friends had to call the sheriff on her neighbors. That darn Nicks' family is just nuts! Everyone thought my friend was making it up until she got video of them at 4 a.m. in her yard blowing their car horn and then backed into their own driveway! Yes, nothing like ticking off a combat veteran with over 20 years of military experience. Gee, I can't imagine anything going wrong with that situation!

The Jeep is gone. Jen loaned it out and I'll probably get another ticket in the mail. People NEVER listen to me. Told them not to go. Now it's out of gas somewhere. When you know what will happen, nobody listens. Rich or poor, people are all the same. It's why I prefer my imaginary friend SN. We don't talk, so she never disappoints.

CJ,

Merry Christmas to you too.

I agree on the college kids. They feel they have to be different from their parents so they gobble up every liberal idea that comes along just to spite them. It's always been that way; they like to think they have minds of their own.

I loved Nugent's comment if in fact he really did say that. I can just picture the look on that clerk's face if he did. Ted should have done a couple bars of "Stranglehold" to top it all off!

Trump is a hard one to figure. I don't know that he is qualified or not but Obama sure has been a loser so he is at least as good as he is. Trump is doing great in the polls so he has a lot of support or else a lot of people will be so glad to see Obama go that Trump is getting their support. I just don't want to have to look at Hillary in the White House.

Time sure flies, the original Republic blogs where I met you and Gloria began nine years ago this month in December of 2006. Time zips by and those blogs are long gone but it's nice to still hear from you guys on Google.

CJ, nice to see you on Jim's blog again. You may remember me as MS15. I would take Trump over Hillary any day. She's a liar and has too much baggage. I'll take Trump or Cruz.

As far as Social Security is concerned you will probably get it but our children won't because the system is going broke. Ten thousand baby boomers are retiring ever day which means they no longer putting into the system but instead are taking out. It's the same for Medicare. In the Obama economy there are less people working and more people taking benefits.

CJ, I learned to survive on my own long ago and if I have to live on entitlements, then that's just life, sweetheart. Life is what it is. Rich people chose not to help me, so I help myself any way I must.

I'm blacklisted in Missouri and in Hollywood and the music business too from doing the right thing as a kid. The bank doesn't care about the right thing. They only care about money.

In Colorado, I have more opportunities and there is no rock star that is sending any money as a friend. I'll get there through careful research and planning. Rich people do not care about people like me, except to buy their stuff with my Social Security money. Merry Christmas, CJ. Thanks for the entitlements.

CJ may remember me as before with brain bacteria and they found micro strokes. I go see the neurologist in January. I was supposed to go in for blood tests last week and I forgot. Doesn't much matter. I was in the ICU in July and I don't drive a car anymore. I'm allergic to alcohol, and most pills cause nausea and much worse.

Jen is like SN and she ran into my burning house to rescue my dogs, so I take care of her and she looks after me. Yup. I live in the barn since the house burned. I'm giving Jen the Jeep. She shops for me, cooks in her home for me and does other stuff that needs done. She and SN inherit the farm, unless I just give her the place.

So my friends and I have this plan to go to Colorado to get work. Jimmy can fill you in on the videos that I've made. Kind of ticked off the local government. Living life, CJ. If I wake in the morning, cool. But it's very peaceful on the other side. Blissful. Jen can be just like CJ too! A good friend. Merry Christmas.

Reason for the neurologist: my doctor and I disagree on UCLA medical research and that neurologist told me to move to Colorado for my health so I'll need a referral to a neurologist there.

And Jimmy, that report that I wrote for the Republicans may have had some effect and you need to jump on the marijuana stocks.

The Republicans asked me to generate a report on Colorado medical cannabis, and it was one-sided, but that's precisely what they wanted. Published it online too. On Nov. 15, Republicans in Congress passed the Omnibus Bill, BO signed it and inside was a provision making medical marijuana legal in participating states. So in 2016, I anticipate many states making marijuana use legal. Invest in Wall Street weed stocks.

Rick -- I wasn't the one bitching about disability here. Get over it. My main point when I said don't get me started on Social Security again was that those people who call the disabled freeloaders while collecting a check themselves that I am currently paying for & telling me there will be nothing there for me when I need it because the system broken & they are going to continue sucking that teat until there is nothing left are looking a lot like black pots from where I am sitting right now ... But Mike was right about one thing -- I have now officially entered the demographic that Paul Ryan was pandering to last election so I may be able to get some help IF I NEED IT. Which I probably will. Unless I meet a nice, financially secure old man, I guess. Or a half decent biker. I keep looking at those Harleys out on the highway lately ... Want to find me one that looks a little like Sam Elliot & then I may be outta here.

Hi Mike. Yes, I remember who you are even when you are posting as Debbie. I would vote for just about anyone over Hillary too. If it comes down to Hillary & The Donald, however, I might have to abstain this election. And then pray that through some miracle neither gets elected. Would want to be at peace with my conscience when he started WWIII ...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What is it with women and bikers? Oh and a financially secure biker too. Is there any other kind? Yeah, women want security all right ... sure they do. That's why they like bikers, because everyone knows how responsible those guys are.

Yep, I gave up trying to be anything. Too late in life.

I'll vote for Hillary Clinton over Trump, but if it's Jeb Bush over Clinton, I'll vote for Bush.

Mike Slater said...

CJ, I watched the last Democrat debate and all I heard was all the free stuff they were going to give people. Free college, free health care but I didn't hear how they were going to pay for it. I also heard they will tax the rich because they're not paying their fair share which is a lie. The rich pay the majority of the taxes. 47% of Americans don't pay federal income taxes and 47% are on food stamps.

Rick, Bush is done. He's only polling at 3%. Hillary wants more gun control which is a non starter for me.

Jen and I are watching TV while reading about the flooding. Two cars near Crocker (town where Dell Mack) lives were swept off Hwy U by floodwaters. Six-7 people lost. Jen said 400 roads in Missouri are closed.

Pete Rose should be let back in. Republican Bruce/Caitlin is reason enough.

Happy New Year, CJ. You like bikers. Jen is the same way. She is still a good friend. Her Harley is still in the shop. You two could be friends.

Unknown said...

Hey Jimmy, want some rain? Most Missouri highways are closed. Flooded over.

I left the VA letter in the Jeep instructing me to voluntarily choose their health care or else. And yet, I can't be treated until I move to Colorado. The feds changed the law on medical marijuana so it's legal there, but not in Missouri. No prescription pills, no vomiting, no worries. That will end and the doctors will mandate treatment soon, comrades.

Happy New Year, Jimmy. The State of Missouri now mandates Food Stamp recipients to either work for a living or go to college starting on January 1, 2016.

Colorado says they can put me to work as a writer ... if I can get there.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

Unless you have a particular reason for staying in Missouri, I would head to Colorado if I was you. Legal marijuana and beautiful views of the Rockies. Hard to beat that!

Unknown said...

Takes money to get there, Jimmy. People can't be counted on in times of trouble. In Colorado, it will be the first month, last month and deposit for an apartment. And I can't really go alone either. Dogs Paris and Nicole are "seizure dogs." They act a certain way if I'm going to have one that night. Plus, kind of need a roommate. A babysitter. I've got a legal matter to clear up in January Missouri then still gotta figure out how to get the money to get to Colorado. May never happen.

I agree with you, Jimmy about gettin' to Colorado. Guess I'll go talk to Jen about it.

All of my forks are gone, Jimmy. It is a sign from God that poor people are turning on each other and becoming animals! No civilized human being steals cheap flatware! The world is going to hell, I tell you!

Pete Rose's gambling probably started from innocently taking a fork. Death row murderers probably got their start from stealing flatware! BO probably went wrong with taking a spoon long ago in Kenya. I am losing faith in our world, Jimmy!

I'm selling everything I own, moving to Colorado, and when I get there and get set up again, I will buy monogrammed flatware with GPS locators in case anyone steals them again! Surely it was done by liberals! Beware, I say! Flatware theft is on the rise!

Jim McAllister said...

Don't ever give up, Rick. I like the monogrammed flatware idea. You can't be too careful these days.

What a wonderful evening this New Year sitting on the balcony watching the fireworks all across the Gila flood plain on the west side.
Four or five communities on the other side of the ten put on a pretty good show for the occasion and right on schedule at midnight the half moon rose as to herald notice of a wonderful year to come.
33 deg. and falling here in the barrios, that's enough for me- I'm done.
The neighbor kids were out riding bikes and shooting roman candles having a normal old fashioned good time, and for thirty or so minutes I was in Ozzy land in a comfortable argyle sweater admiring my freshly painted screen door.
..all is good in the world.

The traditional black eye peas and bacon are in the slow cooker for continued good luck, I made an apple pie and topped it off with sharp cheddar cheese and a measured out a shot of George Dickel as my annual toast to bringing in the new year.

Happy New Year to all and hopefully it will be a better one if we can only avoid a nuclear war with madmen running the world.

.."More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads.
One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness, the other to total extinction.

I hope I'm wrong about her probably winning but this country keeps letting me down with the idiots who vote these clowns in. Now, Obama wants to get the guns during his last year. I tweeted today that he should personally start in the hills of Kentucky. They would make quick work of the sissy bastard there!

Thanks for the post.

I nuked some Chinese food for New Years. Hey, I went to a party last night, but left at eleven. I got home and cracked open a bottle of sparkling red grape juice. The drunks from last night objected at my electric guitar therapy today. They wanted me to put on some rap music, so I cranked the amp instead. They left and I finished my therapy.

If I were in Scottsdale around the polite people, the therapy would have waited, but none of you would have asked for bad rap music either.

So Happy New Year. I'm trying to learn animation from home this year. I can create my own actors.

Jimmy, I had to take down the original Winter in Tabletop Falls because of a copyright violation in the rolling credits with some song on the car radio. So removed that sound, spliced in spoken words by Jen and Michelle to make a fictional conversation that sounds real. The rest of the video is the same.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjkOrU8AvWE

Meanwhile, it's cold in Missouri. No snow on the ground.

When your doctor asks if you're sane enough to own a gun, just say; my second amendment rights are not for discussion.

I love the guitar work by Nick. The kid has talent. Also like the harmonica lesson piece by Christelle about bending diatonic notes. I use some of her stuff plus some background beats when I fool around with my harmonicas. She knows her stuff. I can actually play ZZ Tops' "Nationwide" fairly good although I don't get to practice much because my cat doesn't like harmonicas. Or, maybe it is the way I play a harmonica?

Take care.

Jim, I listened to Obama and his executive orders on gun control but I had trouble counting all the lies he told. The biggest one was the majority of gun owners agree with him. I know a lot of gun owners and not one agrees with Obama on guns. His EO's won't do a thing except cause gun sales to soar.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

Obama lies about everything else so he may as well lie about guns to keep his record intact. It doesn't sound like he accomplished much toward what he really wanted. That's great news. Now, if we can just get Obamacare dumped it will wipe out more of his programs.

The guy has been an 8 year embarrassment to this country. Lord help us if Hillary wins; will be more of the same liberal crap.

Jimmy, I anticipate this year to be getting much worse economically. Seems like government-made disasters are coming our way this year, Jimmy. I'm not ready to be living day to day off the land again. I'm not a young man anymore. Need new equipment, new everything.

My tribe agreed that we need to start preparing for staying on the farm, if the Colorado plans don't work out. We'll need to hunt, fish and garden more. I am not looking forward to living off the land again.

Take the food from POTUS, no Secret Service agents, and make them get out there and work 20 hours a week for a meager meal of beans and ham pieces. Make the First Couple lead by example.

Unknown said...

Hey, check this out, Jimmy. A female attorney from Oregon wants people to know that Obama is overstepping his authority.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T424sWq1SkE

According to her, when a territory becomes a state in America, the U.S. surrenders the "territory" in that state to the people there. According to that attorney in that video, the BLM can't legally control land within a state, unless the people of that state allow that control.

It's beyond me, Jimmy. I just know that my wood burning backpacking stove works!

Mike Slater said...

Jim, Obama lies and Clinton lies, that's what liberals do. The problem is the people that vote for them don't seem to care.

Obama took a page out out Bill Clinton's play book in his talk on guns and shed some fake tears to show he really cares about all the people killed by gun violence. The only thing cares about is himself.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Hillary loses. I just to be able to say ding dong the
wicked witch is dead.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

Andrea Tantaros of Fox said Obama had to have cut up a raw onion to generate those phony tears when talking about guns. What a POS that phony is.

I'm hoping Hillary loses too . I'm a bit worried. Although we love guys like Trump, I'm not so sure everyone does. His poll numbers against other Repubs look great but in a general election poll Hillary beats him by about 6 points.

It's going to be interesting. Cross your fingers; this is not the country we used to know.

Jimmy, here's a little camping trick that might save you sometime. Make you look handy too! How to cook an egg in a campfire without any pans.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUaJ-26p1_A

You can determine if a wild bird's egg is good by putting it in a pan of water. If it stands up or floats, it's no good. In the desert, you'll need that water for something eventually.

In the woods here, a "spile" is those tubes they use to put in maple trees. You can get water out of certain trees to drink so you don't have to go to a stream or known water source. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4altDO4tOs

Since July, increasingly I find that people are treating me as if I've invented nothing but stories about my life's experiences and they make up stories that I'm "schizophrenic," and they do that to use me. It makes it easier on their conscience if I'm thought to be less than human. It's best to remain passive, stay out of the way, don't volunteer to help anyone, because they don't believe in old men anymore.

It's best to watch, follow and stay out of the way, Jimmy. Your closest friends may become your enemies. I've seen this behavior starting before in the early 80's and people you have trusted all your life could turn on you like they were in some reality show for a prize.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, hopefully the FBI will bring up criminal charges on Hillary for her e-mail server before the election. She would look good in an orange jump suit in prison.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

I would pay plenty to see it happen. I worry about the voters though. They are liable to elect her anyway. After all, dipshit crybaby Obama got elected TWICE and he is totally worthless.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, I watched the dog and pony show on CNN with Obama last night. His ideas for more gun control didn't fly with most of the people there. One woman spoke to him about being raped and wanted to buy a gun to protect herself and family. Obama told her it was a bad idea to keep a gun in the house because some family member may get hurt.

Iv'e had guns in my homes for over 40 years and raised 2 kids and now have grand kids over and no one has ever been harmed.

He spent most of the evening blaming the Republicans in congress and the NRA for gun violence. He also blamed the shootings in Chicago on Indiana and their lax gun laws.

He did say 2 true thing though, he only has 1 year left and he's the best thing that ever happened to gun makers. Their stock prices are all very high.

Jim McAllister said...

You are tougher than I am Mike. There is no way I could have watched that sad excuse for a president sit there and try to tell us how we should live our lives. He always has what he thinks are excuses for items like gun violence and they are always the same old crap: It's Indiana's fault, the Republican's fault, etc., etc. It's never because he is wrong about anything. He is an egomaniac; it should be interesting to see what he does after his term is up; that is if someone doesn't take him out first.

His one year left is great for everyone especially us.

Unknown said...

Went to the eye doc today as the GP suggested. Yup. Cataracts. Level one. But I still really choose not to drive anymore. I do not feel safe. It's the same with the government now.

I read a meme that BO apparently said Missouri gun control is a problem and they're setting the people up there by cutting the Food Stamp program except for those working or going to school. I can't imagine thousands of armed men and women who can't afford the rising food prices, because Food Stamps kept the costs lower.

Too bad SN didn't want to visit. Jen does fine. Although the training is coming along slow. I'm a bad student in survival. I've been trying out the gear lately, Jimmy. Me and another guy played guitars today. Yep, I agree on $15 an hour.

Hey Jimmy! Look at this! A vegan in the Ozarks is offended because people hunt.

Not only do the hunters support the Second Amendment, but they HANG harvested deer in their yard from a tree and a mother and a vegetarian complained. Police investigated, found nothing wrong, except maybe the carcass wasn't cooling just right.

I told them that I was going to share this funny story with friends in Scottsdale. This is too funny. What's next? They're growing vegetables in the dirt?

Mike Slater said...

Jim, he also said he wouldn't campaign for any candidate that didn't agree with him on gun control which leaves everyone out except, you guessed it, Hillary. You're right that he blames Indiana for the gun violence in Chicago just Moon beam Brown blamed Arizona for the shooting in California. They just can't admit their strict gun laws don't work because criminal don't care about laws.

The reason I watch Obama and Hillary is I like to see what the enemy is up to.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

I have cataracts too in my one eye. The other eye had a detached retina. Fortunately both were surgically repaired a few years ago and I see OK.

Obama will be lucky to finish the year in office. He is finally pissing off enough people that he should be kicked out or quit. He is a total loser and has been lost since day one. It's amazing how many people were fooled by him.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

Now, THAT is funny! It sounds like some liberal yuppies have moved into your area. If they think the hanging deer in the yard is objectionable wait until they see you guys go bird hunting. Just keep doing what you are doing. They will move on pretty quickly. Goddam losers just don't get it: They will probably start telling you guys you should be driving BMWs and Audis next!

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

It's a sad commentary that clowns like Obama and Hillary and Jerry Brown can even get elected. There was a time when people would run them out of town and with good reason. They forget that this is the USA and it was founded on principles that are still active today. We are allowed to have guns, PERIOD! The 2nd Amendment says so regardless of pukes like the three mentioned above. What these clowns don't understand is that if guns are outlawed the responsible gun owners will be the only ones without them; the crooks will ALWAYS have guns.

With Obama's approval rating I doubt if many Dems are going to actively pursue his endorsement. He is totally unqualified fool who somehow was lucky enough to bullshit enough voters to elect him.

Unknown said...

I can't really complain about the yuppies. I learned the 12 bar Blues from a yuppie from a famous band! True story! Got his autograph to prove it and he slept on my couch! But yeah, it's shocking to go into the Ozarks from the cities or even some towns and what's normal for them is mind shattering to delicate children. Poor vegetarian. She'll never eat meat again.

Jimmy, that detached retina thing sounds serious! I'm glad you had that fixed. That doc said they don't do cataract surgery until it's stage 4, then they put in a piece of plastic and it works just fine. Only I want zoom vision installed when I get the surgery. Maybe even thermal retinas.

I've ordered a streaming camera drone, Jimmy. You being Air Force should find that fascinating! Quadcopters work as miniatures, but can't work as full sized drones.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, it is sad that people like Obama, Hillary and Brown get elected but I blame the liberal voters for that. Liberals are the bane of society. The local liberals at the Arizona Republic like Montini, Roberts and Valdez are behind the president on his gun laws. I doubt any of them have ever owned guns or even shot one but they feel free to tell us gun owners what's right for us.

Keep locked and loaded at all times.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

I've had cataract and detached retina surgery. The cataract thing is amazing. I always had to have a strong lens for my right eye but after the surgery I didn't need anything and had 20-20. I had the torn retina in my left eye. I had surgery on it in 1998 and have got by fine since then with a soft contact lens.

Those are two surgeries that weren't available years ago; if you had either problem it may have meant blindness. Thank God for the advancements in medicine!

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

Be sure to add that lame bastard Benson and his idiotic cartoons. I sent him an email a couple years ago telling him he wasn't worth a shit and he really got pissed. He sent back a couple; pretty funny stuff you would have enjoyed., nasty replies which I in turn replied. THAT got him REALLY pissed! I wish I would have saved those.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, I used to e-mail Benson but he finally blocked me.Looks like I've been blocked on AZ central blogs now. I leave a comment but never get any replies. So much for liberals and open debate. They can dish it out but they sure as hell can't take it. Typical.

I have glacoma in my left eye and have had three surgeries in the last two years. Two laser and a cataract surgery. I can see much better but have to wear glasses. I'm going to turn 65 this year and have to get a new drivers license so I'll have to wear my glasses to pass the eye test. Aging sucks sometimes.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

I chewed Benson out a while back over a really stupid cartoon and he emailed me back so I returned that email and he answered again. This happened about three times before I said the hell with him. He really wanted to have a running argument with me which I thought was pretty strange. I was telling him how his artwork is crap and that he couldn't carry Michael Ramirez's pen. He let me get to him which I thought was pretty cool. My goal was to upset him and he fell for it. What a dork!

Mike Slater said...

Jim, Benson not worth my time anymore. I e-mail Laurie Roberts from time to time and she will reply in a nice way. I don't bother with Montini or Valdez. I used to think Robb was conservative but I have my doubts now. The Republic used to be a conservative paper when I started reading it in the 60's but when Gannet bought it the paper turned into a liberal rag.

I watched Alabama win another national championship last night. That's 5 for Nick Saban. He's without a doubt the best coach in college football. Roll tide.

Unknown said...

Tomorrow I go into court. I made the status quo angry in my political films. At least I am honest, unlike some filmmakers like MM.

All water is fixed. My sewer line broke, no parts, so I used a coffee can, duct tape and shrink wrap to fix it again.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

That was a great game; lots of scoring and it went down to the last few minutes. A well deserved win for Saban. If I remember correctly, he is the son of Nick Saban who used to coach the Buffalo Bills. Poor Clemson, they had their chances but not enough defense.

I'm with you on Robb. He used to be more conservative but is leaning a bit left these days. They want all the conservatives out of there so there is more room for all their libs. They recently dumped Doug MacEachern and Ken Western has been gone a while now. I see they have a new Hispanic woman doing editorials now. Gee, I wonder what side she will be on? LOL She ought to get along well with worthless Valdez.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

The world could not survive without duct tape. It has a million uses of which repairing ducts is probably the least one.

Unknown said...

Dell Mack's leukemia is getting worse. The Republican Obama supporting prosecutor still intends to take the dying military veteran to court and not one single music professional is saying a word. You'd think that the entire world of entertainment would be screaming, but nothing. He's apparently been blacklisted long ago too!

I have a feeling that a lot of military veterans will be targeted this year by the government to shut them up.

Mike Slater said...

Jim, The Az Republic and the AZ Daily Star in Tucson are Two of the most liberal papers in the state. They don't care for any conservative view points which is funny considering Arizona is a very conservative state. We see that every election time.

I watched the State of the Union last night. Nothing new there. I was disappointed in the Republican response from the governor of South Carolina. She spent more time bashing Trump than Obama. The Republican establishment doesn't like Trump or Cruz or conservatives for that matter. They didn't like Goldwater or Reagan either.

I like Alabama but felt sorry for Clemson. To go undefeated and then lose the last game has to be discouraging.

I used to carry duct tape and baling wire in my truck. Two of the best tools one can have.

Unknown said...

Well Jimmy, I went to court and the judge told me that I was free to go and that my lawyer has to tell me "When and IF there's another court date." Turns out that the prosecution lost the defense paperwork for discovery or something. I do not question why or how. It's just best to attribute it to God. Serious. It's just not good to ask questions, but just keep going on like it was nothing.

Still planning a Colorado move, unless things open up for the studio in Missouri. The ticket thing was the last straw.

And I can't find a real good duct tape. Not one that is tough and lasts. It's handy to keep one around for household repairs and stuff.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

Sorry to hear about Dell.

It's going to be interesting this year. That dumb ass Nikki Haley doesn't know shit. Trump is not barring Muslims; he just wants them screened properly before letting them in. Based on recent events, I think that is smart. She is an idiot.

If I was Obama I would double up on my security people. A lot of people are pissed.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

I didn't watch the SOTU at all. Just the sight of that elephant eared stupid bastard ruins my good disposition. I did see Haley's comments as a response to Obama. She was horrible; she basically praised the a-hole for wanting to flood the country with unchecked refugees. To show that she didn't know what she was talking about, she criticized
Trump for stopping refugees when in fact he has said that he wants them thoroughly checked out before letting them in. Based on recent events, that makes total sense. How the hell did she get elected? South Carolina isn't too smart.

Alabama-Clemson was a fun game; lots of offense. I thought for a while Clemson would take it but Alabama was just too good. Saban is a hell of a coach and will probably be heading to the NFL soon.

I agree on baling wire and duct tape; two of the best and quickest tools to use on anything. Sometimes I wonder if duct tape is ever used ion ducts. Handy stuff!

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

Without duct tape, life would be impossible. I've seen a brand called "DUCK tape" and it works pretty good.

Unknown said...

Good day, Jimmy. Hey, I saw Christiana Ball at the courthouse yesterday! The world famous combat vet and singer sharing SN' share the distinction of singing for Presidents. Only BC made FM more famous and BO probably helped the Army talent to get a job as a security guard.

I have five guitars to move, Jimmy. Need to find a mountain town near good fishing, hunting, adjacent to national forest or wilderness, legal weed for medication (doctor's orders), and not so many liberals and easy on the religion.

I've not watched BO's speech. My blood pressure is just fine, the coffee is good and I'm trying to create a new kind of life where I'm smarter like SN and Jimmy. That'll never happen. I'm a country boy and I just happen to be a decent storyteller.

Mike Slater said...

Haley was a real disappointment. I started losing interest in her when she caved on the Confederate flag flap. She must be a member of the Republican establishment. They don't like Trump or Cruz or any conservatives for that matter. I often wonder about the voters in S.C. they elected her and that RINO Lindsey Graham who is best buds with our RINO John McCain.

Not sure Saban will go back to the NFL. He didn't do well the last time. Many college coaches don't do well in the NFL.

Unknown said...

Weirdness. Jen's place nearly caught fire last night and she smothered it with a blanket. That woman's got more guts than any man I know! I went to bed early and missed the entire thing! I think she's about ready to move to Colorado too!

I read that Arizona might do the recreational weed thing. You should.

I've looked in Colorado counties without legal marijuana and I can get a nice home for $200 a month vs 1400 a month for the same kind of home in a county with legal weed. My friend, Michelle, would be happy. She wants Jen and I to move to Arizona.

Unknown said...

Jimmy, the world is a twisted place where we see and choose to hear the truth, but we deny it, because THAT'S THE LAW! You know Jimmy, in college I took journalism ethics which kind of served a purpose in helping me to weigh decisions of life and death. Who do I write about? What do I ignore? Yes, especially that LAST PART. The system exists to rid society of garbage. Like a Democrat state representative once said; a little organized crime is better than a murderous one. And there's the distinction.

Secret sub-governments can also be a good thing to protect good people in a system that is rife with corruption. It becomes a secret civil war within the government itself.

Jim McAllister said...

Rick,

I think weed will be everywhere eventually. It's a sign of society today although once it is legal probably no one will want it because there won't be the thrill of breaking the law when they use it. Having it illegal is part of the allure. Maybe heroin being available will be next.

Jim McAllister said...

Mike,

Yeah, she is a real disappointment. I remember when she won I thought it was great that she knocked off a Democrat. She is a joke though and fell right into Obama's hands. Graham is one of the worst RINOs; I'm glad he got knocked out of the nomination for pres. We need Trump or Cruz. It took them longer than I thought it would to get on Cruz about being born in Canada but that is now an issue. I f you watch Twitter, Trump has a huge following. I have no problem with him; anything to get the damn Dems out.

Hillary seems to be steadily losing ground to that commie Sanders. That would be funny if she would blow the nomination after everyone considered her a shoo in. Somehow I don't see Bill in the White House with her and having her run the show. It seems like politics gets weirder every year. It started with thew election of that SOB Obama and is continuing.

You're right, Saban ids better off at the college level but he may think he should give the NFL another shot. Depends on the deal he could get probably.

Jim, Haley is part of the Republican establishment. They don't like anyone that doesn't toe the party line. That's why they don't want Trump or Cruz. They would much rather have a moderate run and lose than have a conservative win. This is why I left the Republican party years ago.

I've seen a lot of good college coaches go to the NFL but most don't do well. Saban makes over $5 million a year. Pete Carrol went back to the NFL as has done pretty good.

Well said, Rick. I agree.

Mike,

I agree, she is right there with guys like Graham. They will never win the presidency. We need someone like Trump who is brazen and is able to wake people up to reality of what is happening to this country. I just hope there are still enough of us left who also feel that way so he has a decent shot at winning. I kind of liked Cruz too but all along I have been saying the the Canada birth may be a problem and now it is. Hillary is slipping; wouldn't that be something if that commie Sanders beat her out of the nomination? She has a lot of skeletons in her closet.

Unless his ego demanded it, Saban should stay in Alabama but I know how some of those guys think: They would love to prove they can do it in the NFL too. Carroll is a good example. he had it good at USC but he wanted to win at the next level and he has done a hell of a job. I like him and wish he could pull it off this year from the wild card. It will be hard. I'm sure that when he goes to bed at night he can still see that ill advised pass that cost Seattle the Super Bowl last year.
